Coming here was a terrible decision. My sister and I decided to get matching heart outlines. I thought since it would just be a really small heart it couldn't be messed up. Hers turned out perfect but unfortunately for me, a different person did mine and it literally looked like a blob. It was so bad I had to have it filled in. The guys inside are incredibly welcoming, friendly, and hilarious. They ensure your safety and their cleanliness, making you feel completely comfortable. My friends and I went in one afternoon not really knowing what we wanted, and left with two tattoos and a piercing-all by different guys that each did a beyond great job. Originally I was going to get my tattoo done at a place called red moon but the guy there totally changed up my idea and didn’t incorporate the part that I wanted most in the tattoo. Then I went to big Al’s and the people in there were super nice and joe gave me the perfect first tattoo I could’ve asked for. Nice clean shop, great attitude/work from the artists, and a 10/10 experience for my first time. Came tonight to get my memorial tattoo done for my dad. Did not realize we were walking in so shortly before close (my boyfriend got a tat too). Dan was our artist and was awesome enough to stay for us to get our work done that we wanted and he did an amazing job! We love our tats. I will admit I was leary about coming back here because I had a bad experience with a former artist (lemme tell you there's a reason he is a former artist), but Dan gave me my faith back in Big Al's and we will definitely be back!! Stopped in due to the advertising of the 31 dollar tattoos. Was looking to get a tattoo I had gotten in my younger yrs covered up. Was fortunate to meet Jo and after some talking and idea searching found the best tattoo to cover my old one. My father has a panthers head on his arm and I wanted the same in a sense but of my own taste and Jo knocked it outa the park. Couldn't be more happier with the results! There wasn't any one moment where I wasn't comfortable or relaxed and enjoying my time in the chair. The place was clean and staff was excellent. I just got my first tattoo this past Sunday. I got the Japanese Kanji symbol for "Survivor" on my outer left calf. Dan was my tattoo artist. He did an awesome job! I think the tat is badass! He even knew what I meant when I wanted the symbols shadowed. His hands are very light and it didn't even hurt! Everyone was very friendly and helpful and the place is super clean! A hidden gem of a shop in an unassuming little strip mall, Big Als tattoo was an extremely clean place with the friendliest staff you ever want to meet. The tattoo artist "Johnny" catered to all my nitpicking with a smile and completed one of the best tattoos I have on my body in a timely manner at an extremely fair price point. I would definitely suggest anyone looking into a tattoo to check this place out. Skip Jade Dragon, Chicago Tattoo, and all the over hyped tattoo shops in favor of this family owned tattoo parlor where I felt like the artists genuinely cared about my satisfaction. I was on the hunt recently for someone to do the work on something that basically, I didn't even know how to explain it, just had some ideas. I called and visited a few places. All of them were rude and unenthusiastic about even drawing something up for me. When I came across Big Al's, I called and spoke with John. I was immediately impressed by how he spoke to me. When I came into the shop (on a walk-in basis) I was greeted by Joe (chops) in the most friendly of ways. He lis...tened to all I had to say and was really excited about tackling this project. Not only, was he able to draw up something for me, but it really was perfect. On the first shot, I fell in love with it. Didn't even have to make any modifications. He started the tattoo that day. We both decided that it was best to spilt the session, but what he did so far is exquisite. I was extremely impressed by the entire experience. Cool place, good vibe. I have been in and out of this place a few times. It is right next door to the paintball store I got to, to find cool oldschool paintball stuff and get my guns repaired. I don't think I would have got anything done there before but, the staff seems to have changed a lot and, for the better! When you walk in your greeted right away by somebody who is actually friendly. Everyone seems to be smiling and it's got a "family" kind of vibe. Which in my opinion is exactly how a tattoo shop should feel. Anyway went in there just to check the place out again recently and was so blown away by the change and impressed by what art I saw I decided to make an appointment.
