Took my daughter for her 1st piercing and all questions were answered. They carded and I had to do what I needed tok do so she can get it done and they won't get in trouble. Place was clean, saw items used coming out of sterile packs. Piercer did it in under 1 minute. Have it on video. She loves it. Went here to get my septum pierced and I could not be more pleased with my experience. Mike (Mikey?) did the job and it was, dare I say, practically painless! I don't know how he did it, but the piercing itself hurt far less than any of my other piercings and once It was in there was no pain whatsoever. Mike was calm, professional, and patient. Went to go get a Industrial piercing and the service was great. I was in there for no more then 10 mins. I explained where I wanted it and he followed through. Piercer explained aftercare very well. I decided to give this shop a try since I go by it regularly. I'm so glad I did! The shop is very clean and every artist is so very talented. I got a very large chest piece of peonies done and liked it so much that I came back to have the cutest little bluebird tattooed on my shoulder. Both custom. I came in with the basic drawings and the artists brought them to life. Although I have not had Don tattoo me yet, I've watched him work though and he is fantastic. Maybe some day I'll get a tattoo from him, but in the mean time I have full respect and confidence  in the work of any of the artists here. I'm so intrigued by the whole process. I've been going here since 2008. Don has done about 100 hours of work on me. Anything from cover ups to new pieces, he does the best work. Prices are reasonable as well. Once you get to know Don, he will learn your style and work with you getting the art work down right. If you aren't 100% happy don will re work the art work until your ready to go. Don has fixed or covered a few tats I had gotten at other, less stellar shops in the area with no issues. I really can't say enough good things at his work. This shop is clean and well organized. Truly professional in every way. Don runs a tight ship and doesn't put up with his staff cutting corners. All of the other artists and the piercer are high speed and really care about what they do. The location may be off putting ( it's in a desolate section of down town Aurora) but once you get inside the shop is clean, bright and professional. Yesterday I went to get a Monroe Piercing, and it was a great experience. I was carded (I am 18) and my sister had to do all the steps with my mom to get a piercing. We all showed identification. The piercer explained everything and gave us helpful tips like how to wash it and when we can get smaller studs. When my sister felt faint he laid her down and gave her water. Pretty sad when a 15 year old girl can walk into a tattoo/piercing shop and come out with her tongue pieced!!! This shop does not ID. 3 girls walk in and all 3 walked out with piercings. Not one was carded. State of Illinois is very clear on the law being 18. My daughter was wrong for being there, but I hold the owner and piercer responsible for allowing this to happen in there licensed business. I went in with a few friends to get tattoos done by Kat. This was for my first tattoo, so naturally I was quite anxious about the process, and I was very specific about what I wanted. I sent in a picture to Kat, and she drew up a great design for me. She DELIVERED! I love my new tattoo! I was very impressed with her work, and the cost was extremely reasonable. 100% satisfied. Don runs a very clean and professional studio, specializing in custom tattooing and piercings. I've personally had a lot of work done here, as has my wife, and would never consider going any where else. DTI has been my sole studio for ink since my first visit in 2009 and dozens of sessions since. The work performed by Don and his artists speaks for itself. If there's any doubt, walk in and check out some of the hundreds of jobs that have been done. There are books and books showing proof of product. Don, and the other artists, take pride in their work and consider each job a personal reflection of themselves. They take endless time to ensure that you're getting exactly what you want before they even consider loading a needle into the gun. My experience here was fantastic. I moved 1,000 miles away from the places I've gotten my other tattoos, so I wanted to find a new artist in the area. I walked in on a Saturday, was recommended Cassandra (since she was away from the shop), came back on Monday to talk to her about my idea, and came back on Wednesday to have the work done. I must tell you, Miguel is the best!! I called Don's Ink to get some information, thinking I was 'too old' to get my nose pierced. I'm 56. Miguel was the man who answered the phone. He couldn't have been more respectful or kind! I was so impressed. I asked him a 'zillion' questions about the process involved, taking care of the piercing afterwards and everything else you might think of. Miguel acted as if he had nothing more presseing than talking to me. Guess what? I did have my nose pierced!! I am thrilled with it. I had minimal swelling thanks to Miguel's kind instructions and it's been two weeks and the swelling has long since passed. It feels natural and the piercing nose-earring is very small and not obtrusive. I really liked Miguel and get asked frequently about the piercing. I actually gave out one of his cards just today!! Dons shop was by far the best I have ever been to. Don and Brian collaborated fixing my large tribal that the orginal artist had butchered. I would like to think I am speaking from experience.. I have now been tattooed by five artists over the past 17 years... and by far Don's Downtown Ink is by far the best. I have recommended Don to my friends and even my family.. and he has done exceptional work on all of them. I have been repeat customer and simply amazed at the talent he has.
