When I want something bad enough, I become very impatient! The night before, my friend drew up a beautiful design on the side of my forearm that I absolutely LOVED!!! Stared at it in the mirror for the longest, and I just knew that I HAD to get it tattooed. Yesterday morning I had a church meeting, and I knew there was a tattoo shop behind the church and took it as a sign I guess you could say, lol. I grabbed my friend and told her that I'm dead serious getting the design tattooed on me, and I wanted her to come with! We pop into Good Life tattoo shop and were immediately greeted by the workers who were in the back and quickly came forth to greet us and address our inquiry. I asked the necessary questions, my friend completely surprised me with her want of getting her very first tattoo done with me, and the next thing you know, Ryan was scheduling the both of us the soonest time he could. We come at our appointed time, and while Ryan was finishing up his first customer, he instructed his coworkers to prep me and my friend's design, as well as the needles needed. Once he was done with his customer, he took over the draw up of my design, and kept calling me to the back to make sure it was the size, placement, and script that I had wanted. I appreciated with how thorough he was in seeing my design through. Of course he did the placing of the sketch, allowed me to see where exactly I wanted it, while giving me his opinion on where exactly I should place it. He went about with prepping me and putting me into a comfortable position to start his work; he was even nice enough to let my friends come in the back to watch him do his work on me! He was also amazing with one of my best friend who was getting her first tattoo done with me; he took real good care of her, and gave us both exactly what we wanted!! I seriously cannot wait to get my next piece done by him or any of his crew for that manner! They're all so nice, welcoming, hilariously comfortable, and it's obvious they all share the same love of art and painting the perfect story their customers want to tell! I've known Ryan for a long time and was really stoked to get a tattoo from someone who I know. His shop is super clean and mellow and he worked with me on the design and even stayed late to hook me up. Ricky is an amazing artist... He's done an excellent  job on a cover up for me. I came into this small shop on a saturday night at about 6:30pm and left by 6:50pm. There were young people working, in their twenties. They greeted me and my friend as soon as we walked in and made sure that if we had any questions that they were more than willing to answer them.I've never had a tattoo before and it was a spontaneous moment for me. All I knew was that I wanted a small tattoo that said "simplicity". The woman who tattooed me was named Yvonne Kang, her booklet was out and her tattoos were very nice and clean.She printed out a design that I liked and the tattoo was finished in less than 10 minutes. I got it on my wrist. I originally wanted it on my ribs but she said it was be $120 because of the placement. They have a minimum of $80 for their tattoos, which sucks because mine was so small that it really wasn't worth $80. But she did a fantastic job and answered my million of questions and made sure I was calm throughout the process. They only accept cash by the way. All the employees seem very upbeat and friendly, you can tell they're all true friends and have a good time working together. I gave it a 4 star review and not a 5 simply because of the fact that they have an $80 minimum no matter how small the tattoo. But the workers are amazing and so are their skills! This was my first tattoo and he did a really good job of calming my nerves and he was light handed so it didn't really hurt at all. Called before we arrived after a quick google search for a shop in Mililani.  My mom was the one getting the tattoo and she just wanted a small Hawaiian flower as a souvenir as she was leaving the next day.  The shops we went to in North Shore all seemed to be too busy and didn't really have good customer service.  Almost like you were wasting their time.  So I talked to Kyle and asked if he did walk-ins and when we could come.  He was available right away and very friendly over the phone.  Got there and he got to work on my mom immediately.  She told him what she wanted and he was able to work on an idea that they both liked.  Everyone in the shop was nice and made us feel welcomed and comfortable.  Will be going back to get some work done as well as my husband.  Overall this place is awesome and I would definitely recommend it to anyone! So I just got home from Good Life and had to write a review about how pleased I am with my experience. I walked in about a week ago, I was greeted by Kyle. He was extremely helpful and seemed stoked to be shooting some ideas about my original idea. The shop is clean comfortable and I felt right at place and welcomed. I have had other experiences walking into other shops and it seems like your wasting their time. I did not get that at all here. Kyle drew out my stencil I loved it and he got to work on my leg. He refused to take any breaks unless I wanted to (we ended up taking 1 break over the course of about 4 hours) I also asked him to make his design from scratch. I made a wise choice in coming to Good Life. Bring your design or idea and have it manifest into the tat you always wanted!It took me a minute to find the shop, as they are in a multi-use part of the Mililani Shopping Center complex (look for First Hawaiian Bank first). I walked in and was greeted immediately by Kyle. There was no snobbery or assholeism present by anyone in the shop! There were some tattoo artist "hopefuls" present, which is always a good sign to me. People that are good aren't afraid for anyone to watch them. The owner Ryan popped in, introduced himself and made me feel welcome and at home. Then he went to go skate!I had a design in mind and began to discuss it with Kyle, a friendly giant of a guy. We talked about size and placement, and cost. After coming to an agreement, he got right to the design at the drawing table, and I hit the ATM (I am not aware of ANY tattoo shop that does business in anything besides cash.)Stencil made, he placed it on my arm and let me check it in the mirror. I likee! So, he preped his station (fastidiously clean and uncluttered) and I had a seat.Now, I have been tattooed by the best and tattooed by the rest (including Norman "Sailor Jerry" Collins in his original shop on Smith St before he passed in "73) and with that said, Kyle is one of the most talented and gentle artists I've ever had the pleasure to offer my flesh to. I am looking at his work today, no excessive scabbing, beautiful and elegant script and color filled to outline perfectly. His price was certainly reasonable to me. I know that I could pay less, to to someone's living room or backyard, but why take the chance? Kyle is a seasoned professional, and has tattoo artists in his family. I was so taken by his manner and skills that his young age seemed baffling to me. He had to be tattooing in his past life!Choose your tattoo artist wisely. Talk and read reviews. Look at portfolios. I had a great experience at this shop. I was a walk-in client and was helped immediately by Kyle. I checked his work on Instagram, he has amazing lettering. So glad he was in the shop because he's also amazing at color! Id definitely recommend him to all my friends and family. I came in on Dec 23rd and talked them about what I wanted.  They explained that what I wanted wouldn't come out right because of how small I wanted it (on my wrist), so I left to think about it.  I came back the next day (Christmas Eve day) and had another design, same concept, and this time they said it would look good, so I went ahead and did it that day.  Very happy with the result and will be back to get more work done!  Price was good too compared to going into town! I came here on a whim - literally. I walked in, told Jared what I wanted and he executed it perfectly!But before I jump into the review, let me tell you where the shop is. It's in the same building complex as First Hawaiian Bank (by Jack in the Box Mililani) and sits right across from Rajanee Thai. I believe it's the second door on the left side. Anyway, I came here on my break since I work in the same complex. Jared was there and I swear I bombarded him with so much questions (sorry Jared) about pricing, what I wanted, the size, and etc. He answered all my questions patiently because I didn't really think this through. I came here knowing what I wanted tatted but I didn't really have any expectations on what it'd look like.So, I told Jared what I wanted which was the quote with nice lettering. He explained to me that every artist had their own style and I didn't want anything too fancy with all those swirls and extravagant lettering. I still wanted it legible, but I also wanted it simple and elegant. He said he'd come up with a design by the time I ended work (which was 1PM).After work, I came with my coworkers and the design was absolutely gorgeous. The lettering was better than I imagined and I loved where I decided to place it (with the help of my beautiful coworkers). The overall process wasn't painful at all for a first tattoo. Jared did a good job making sure I was comfortable and I am honored to have him do my first tattoo!! I am absolutely in LOVE with my new tattoo and every time I look at it I remember why I got it in the first place.The other guys who work in the shop are just as nice and funny. They all compliment each other as a team and you just feel comfortable being there with all of them. I didn't feel out of place or awkward and they complimented me on the tattoo saying the lettering was fantastic (which made me feel more confident). Great new shop/gallery in Mililani! The artists are very talented and friendly, they make you want to stay longer. As you walk in you will see the art displays, music, and artists at work. I have been to many tattoo shops and dealt with lots of artist and I can tell you this much, this is a professional shop with the best customer service ever!
