Recently came here to get a tattoo done by Lauren, and I am so in love with the piece! Lauren is one of the artists at this shop. Based on the artwork on the walls and what I've seen from social media, all of the artists here are talented. The shop was very clean and played good music. I was referred to Lauren specifically by my friend. I loved the lines and shading she did on my friend's piece so I knew I wanted her to be the one to bring my feathered dreams come to life. And she did! Before my session, I came in for a consultation to go over the sketch I had and what I wanted as a result. She was able to draw out exactly what I wanted based on what I told her - I was amazed. Her attention to detail is so great. I am 100% happy with how it came out! House of Ink Tattoo , located on the corner of Kihapai & Hoolai St. in Kailua across from Agnes Bakery is where you need to go to get tattooed. The shop is clean, the vibes are chill, but most importantly this is where the amazing Lauren works. If you want to get tattooed, you need to come here and see her, this girl is insanely talented. I had a rough idea of what I wanted to do , and she brought it to life better than I could ever imagine. Her attention to detail is amazing, the line work is perfect. Everyone who has seen the tattoo that Lauren created for me has tripped out. They now want to get work done by her.As for the shop itself, it's easy to find, extrememly clean, and everyone is super laid back. I think a lot of times tattoo shops don't seem welcoming or easily approachable but that is not the case with House of Ink. When the door opens someone greets the guest immediately, they make sure everyone is taken care of. My wife and I both have numerous tattoos.  Both my adult children have tattoos and several friends have tattoos as well.  As a result, we've spent a lot of time in a lot of different tattoo shops (in Hawaii, on the mainland and abroad).  When we stopped into House of Ink today, we both immediately liked the welcoming, easy-going atmosphere.  The shop was clean.  The artists were friendly, helpful and (obviously) talented.  Keahi did an awesome job on a black and gray piece on my wife.  I spoke with Lauren about ideas for a black and gray piece for myself.  We're both looking forward to getting more work done here in the future.Street parking only. My friend had passed away a few months prior so I wanted something to remember her by. I knew I wanted a quote with her signature I had from one of her journal entries but I was unsure of the font and placement on my body. I was greeted by Lauren who was very friendly and very helpful. She sat with me for a good 15-20 minutes and went through a bunch of font selections with the quote I wanted. I told her I wanted it on my shoulder and in small font. Still undecided with the font I wanted, Lauren said she would put something together and send it to me when she was done. I scheduled my appointment for the following day. The next morning I got a message with a picture of the quote and signature. It was EXACTLY what I wanted and more!!!! I showed up to my appointment still really nervous about the pain. Lauren made me feel very comfortable and ensured me I'd be fine. It ended up not being painful at all (and I'm a such a chicken). I loved every bit of it, I had tears in my eyes. My artist is Q.  Who has a style nobody has. This  shop is a must  to get some ink done. Reggae  music pumpin  just completes the experience.Also you in the beautiful town of Kailua to go along with it Cannot go wrong!Parking is ok. Just have to find a metered  spot.   2 hour limit. The moment I walked in, I definitely felt the cool vibes. Reggae music jamming, tattoo machines buzzing, and greeted right away.I went in for a consultation with "Q" after following his work on IG for years.He was in the middle of tattooing someone but came up as soon as he had the chance to chat about what I wanted done.I left my information and received a text the following day to set up an appointment... Got in that Saturday. Woo woo!I got a half sleeve done and was finished faster than I expected. Let me tell you... My tattoo is amazing!!! I got referred here by my cousin because of the good things she had to say about this place so i went to check it out.I walked in and was greeted by a friendly guy. I asked him a few questions because i wanted to get a tattoo i had from the past covered up and they said they were able to do it right there and right now because one of the guys were free. So i talked to Mike and told him what i wanted. Immediately he drew it out and i loved it. A few minutes later we got started.While doing my tattoo, he was nice to ask if i was doing okay every 15 min or so. The other workers there also checked on me and conversated with me. Everyone there are really friendly. My chest piece was done in about 6 1/2 hours with about 3 10 min breaks (which i needed). Mike is a great artist! Loved the colors he chose for my piece. Got my tattoo from Q. I started following him on Instagram and really fell in love with his work. Friendly staff here. Q was easy to work with and did an awesome job with a tribal tattoo. All freehand. Big smiles when it was all done...especially since it was done. (I'm truly a wimp when it comes to tattoos...even though I have 4 LOL). After going here, I recommended this place to my friend. She went and left with a MISSPELLED tattoo!! Even worse, when she asked for a refund to have it fixed elsewhere they refused!  I am appalled that I recommended someone here and she was treated so poorly!
