Spur of the moment...I wanted a tattoo. I knew what I wanted, I have a lot I want to do...just needed the time. Today, I decided was the day. I don't like making appointments because I'm an anxious/over thinking type of person. So I called ahead to make sure they weren't too busy and to confirm they take walk ins. I walked in told them what I wanted and they drew it up for me. Simple and sweet. I'm very awkward and not very social. My artist was Brit, she was exactly what I needed and wanted in an artist. I don't know how to hold a conversation to save my life. She made the whole experience laid back, chill and just what I needed. I ended up getting 2 tattoos that I've been wanting for the longest time at a great price. So thankful for an awesome experience, the artist that were there were so hilarious and kept me entertained while I just continued to be my awkward self. Took my 10yo daughter to Aloha Tattoo to get her ears pierced for the first time. She was really nervous but Tim was awesome. He was very patient with her and explained everything to her. My sister and I Went in to see Tim to pierce my daughters ears. I got super lucky that his wife was their too. She is a RN & they were both able to pierce her ears at the same time. Quick & easy. Just received my first (2) tattoos today from Gabi. I'm super happy with how they turned out!When I called to set up an appointment, Tim was extremely nice and he gave me a good estimate on how expensive my tattoo would be. He also  told me that I could just walk in since the tattoo that I wanted was so small.Tim drew up the design I had in mind, and although I didn't have him as my actual artist, the process went very smoothly. The pain was there, but it wasn't unbearable. I did sweat a lot though.After Gabi was done with the UFO on my ankle, I asked her if she could do a small semicolon on the back of my arm. She happily agreed, quickly getting it done freehand. Gabi was super nice, reassuring, and informative about the aftercare.I also got a great price for the two tattoos. I would highly recommend this shop! Got alot of  compliments on my tattoos that I have gotten from here. First off would be my chest tattoo that was free handed by Ricky. The one thing that stood out to me the most was while doing the tattoo he didn't make me feel uncomfortable at all, considering the tattoo was above my chest. He actually did it on a table & tattooed from the top. So that his arm did not rest on my chest. Much props to that. From the older generation to the younger,  I still get sooo much compliments on the tribal design. Next off is the tribal shark that Ricky also did on my lower left arm. I had a super awesome experience here! First time getting pierced in a tattoo shop, but decided it was the way to go to ensure that it would be done well. Got my tragus and conch done at the same time by Hana. She was quick friendly and gave me good advice about aftercare and they encouraged me to come back if I needed any help to switch out jewelry. Went there today because of the positive reviews here. First I called and asked for Tim because majority  everyone here reviewed his work. I did not need an appointment,  he said come on in and he'd take care of me. He has over 20 years of experience.  True nice aloha spirit. I went in to get my industrial done. I felt very comfortable, and enviorment is great, great vibe to.  Sat me in the chair he made me feel relaxed, and then it was done in a flash. Felt completely professional. Half way through getting it pierced I meet Achisha (it might be Ayesha, sorry I can't remember her name, was to excited I got my industrial done wasn't thinking 100%). Such a sweet girl, once Tim finished she took over taking care of me. Gave me lots of tips about after care and answered all my questions gracefully ( she does piercing to! ) . Went in to buy a piece of body jewelry.. a few guys were chilling in the front of the tattoo shop watching the tv. I have mixed feelings about this place because I've had 2 very great experiences, but with mixed outcomes. I got my nose pierced here, and the experience was everything anyone could want in good piercing experience. I called first to ask about pricing and if the piercer was available, which he was so later that day I went in with my mom, and my friend and her mom. We were addressed immediately and asked what we wanted to get done. The piercer, Tim, took us back to the piercing room. I went first. He cleaned my nose, everything was sterile and professional- basically just a very clean, comfortable piercing environment. He marked the spot, made sure I was okay with it and pierced when I was ready. Super fast, very comfortable, done well. To this day my nose piercing is doing beautifully and has never looked better. Tim then did my friends nose and proceeded to go over after care with both of us and was happy to answer any questions we, or our moms had. After paying they let you pick out a new piece of jewelry, and because I was with a friend we got a deal on the price. Awesome experience. Flashfoward to a few months later. I love my nose piercing and my experience was great here so I decided for my birthday, I'd get my nipples pierced here. I went in and once again was greeted immediately and within minutes I was taken back to the piercing room. This time it wasn't with Tim, but the guy was cool and made me feel comfortable so I was okay with it. So the guy cleans my nipples and marks the spot, again everything is sterile. Now, the guy marked the spot with a sharpie and the dots were very large so the placement looked fine, but then again because the dot was so large he could have pierced anywhere within the dot and I would have gotten pierced in a completely different area. So the piercing experience was quick and only slightly painful and I paid, picked out my jewelry and left. No cleaning, or after care advice given. That night I get home and I'm cleaning the piercings, and I notice that the nipple piercings were done through my areola! That's not where they're supposed to be. In addition, because of where the piercings were done, the jewelry was not long enough to accommodate for full relaxation of my nipples or swelling. A few days after I noticed one of the balls was getting pulled into my nipple and I realized the healing process was not going to go anywhere like this so I took them out and got them redone else where.    Overall I think this is a great shop, but it all just depends on what you're getting done, who's doing it, and yourself. If you don't like something or you're not sure, ask. I would recommend this shop, just make sure you're happy with everything before you get it done and please ask questions. Read Less

I went in to receive a simple nose piercing. The guy was professional and cleaned all the equipment properly. He did it quick and put the setting in, told me to clean it with soap and water, and I was on my way. I flew out for my vacation and two days later my nose was burning, swollen red, and leaking pus. I was confused because I kept it clean and didn't fiddle with it. The inflammation got worse and the setting started to sink in the hole. I used salt water and tea tree oil to clean and treat the wound. It helped temporarily, but my nose was still burning and starting to give me headaches. I couldn't take it after 4 days and went to Apogee (amazing place in San Diego ) and was informed by Peck (Fucking Fantastic!) that the setting was cheap and the fake coating was causing the inflammation. He removed it and after seeing the discolored pin, I finally got relief. He gave me a stainless steel pin advised me to soak my nose with sea salt. My nose was so swollen he couldn't properly set it. Within hours my nose looked and felt better. In two days, it was back to normal and it no longer hurt to sneeze. I went back to Aloha tattoo to tell my piercer what happened and he didn't seem concern. I advised him against using the same set he put in my nose and telling folks to clean with a little soap and water (actually terrible idea). He told me he always uses the same set and tells folks the simplest way for piercing care. I expected a better reaction when a client tells you that their $60 nose piercing almost caused them to go to the hospital for antibiotics. Nonetheless, lesson learned and I will not be back. So far, super awesome. Walked in on Tuesday to get a floral tattoo on my arms and I got something drawn up that was beautiful super quickly! And they suggested better placement than I had in mind so I'm pretty pumped about that too.Because my tattoo was $300, I got 300 points in their system, which means I get two free piercings (they have other rewards too, but I'm into the piercing option).Today I walked in with a pile of pictures asking if someone could mesh them all into a super awesome skull and peony looking tattoo for my upper arm. They were all very nice and offered to draw something up and set up an appointment for tomorrow at 3. Perfect timing and I get my piercings too.Definitely a fan. Plus a burrito joint next door. I was disappointed at first when my appointment got canceled because the shop forgot to log my friend and I in, especially since I had to leave the islands the next day.  Circumstances had me return home though 3 weeks later and we got it done.The actual experience was great as my artist was super chill, had the good music vibes going, and got a good product on me and my friend.  So for that I can give them 4 stars.Definitely double-check that your appointment is set in stone - otherwise you can expect good stuff from these guys. I had such a great experience here! While on vacation from California I dropped into Aloha Tattoo and the first thing I noticed was how friendly the staff was. I chatted with Lindsay and Coron before and after my appointment and they were so sweet! I have done all of the research I believe anyone would do if they were going to put something on their body for the rest of their lives. My search lead me through every tattoo shop on the east side of Oahu, Kailua, to a shop properly named "Aloha Tattoo". The trend I saw in all of the shops, was the same tired, photo copied design sheets in flip racks and arranged on the walls. Same people that didn't look like they had been tattooing very long. Maybe getting tattooed then decided to try their hand at it, and threw a shop together. I went into Aloha tattoo and could see instantly, this shop stands out from the rest. It was evident that every design sheet on the wall was an original, drawn by hand. I knew there was going to be no "false advertising" because if they could draw it and display it, they could tattoo it. Tim Goodrich has two huge leather bound portfolios full of designs to show for the sixteen years he has been tattooing, as well as the other two artists at the shop. The other artist, Anthony Hunter, has been tattooing for eighteen years and his portfolio reflects a long tattoo career also. If I were to sum it up, these guys are in the oldest tattoo shop on the windward side of Oahu, and have the most experience out of every shop on this side of the island. Look for the blue neon dolphins in the window and you know you have found the best tattoo shop in Hawaii. I did my research by actually going into EVERY shop in Kaneohe and in Kailua. Attitudes in most shops, tired repetitive photo-copied designs...how do you pick a tattoo shop if they all have the same selection of designs bought online? Well, I walked into a cozy little shop by the beach in kailua, and the first thing I noticed was the tattoo designs were all different. Really cool tattoos drawn by hand and placed on a black background tells me, these guys didn't buy this stuff on line. Tim Goodrich drew most of it and the other two guys, Aka Akamai, and Anthony Hunter drew a large portion of the Hawaiian Tribal Tattoo designs. Shop around by looking at the portfolios. Each artist had more than one portfolio to show off their tattoos. Custom tattooing or cute little girly tattoos, this place has it. Great attitudes and great prices.
