Kelsey was my piercer and was amazing! I was actually looking forward to get pierced by Peggy but was not in at the time. Although Kelsey was trained by Peggy. I got my nose pierced. I explained to Kelsey that I haven't gotten any other piercings done except my first holes on my ears. She was so excited to be apart of my second piercing. She was very patient and knowledgeable when it came to placement and best starter jewelry. Very personable and sweet! Thank you! Pro tip: usually they say 1 month is enough to swap out a nose piercing. But Kelsey advised me 2 months and I'm so glad I did it! It healed better and felt more comfortable when I swapped out my post for a ring. 2 months jewelry swap:I was able to get my jewelry swapped out by Peggy! She is just as kind and rad as everyone said on Yelp. Very knowledgeable. I wanted my new hoop to sit more snug, Peggy advised that I kept the hoop how it is and to come back in a month. This would make sure the hole would heal nice and clean to prevent the hole from becoming a slit. It is healing nicely and I'm looking forward to going back soon! Recently got a septum piercing here from Peggy. I chose this place and the piercer based on the yelp reviews. They didn't have a lot of septum piercing reviews but they really didn't have any negative piercing reviews so I thought I would be in good hands. Peggy was friendly and kind and went through the whole process with me. She told me exactly what she was going to do and instructed me on how to care for it. But my piercing was pierced crooked/too low. It went in high on one end and lower on the other end. She did notice it was crooked after she pierced it but just tilted the piercing a bit to the direction it should have been in then told me I could go. My husband was waiting outside and noticed it was crooked and I was concerned myself but she mentioned to just keep moving the piercing to make it more straight and that it should eventually straighten out on its own. She did mention that if it didn't straighten out that she could re-pierce it for me. After 3 days of healing I was very disappointed. It didn't straighten out and I was so stressed out not sure if it would straighten out or not. I kept moving my piercing to straighten it as she instructed but it ended up feeling a lot more tender and started to hurt when I touched it. The side that was lower would also lean back. I ended up getting a second opinion from another piercer from a different shop and they took a look at it and said that it was crooked and pierced too low. They said it would not straighten on it's own. I felt really disappointed because I really wanted this piercing for a a while now. I understand that these things could happen but I was upset she would let me walk out the shop knowing it was crooked. I don't have any kind of knowledge about septum piercings so I would expect the piercer to at least know if they pierced it crooked or too low.I asked Peggy for a refund and she was nice about it and said she would refund me. She was very kind but I did not like how she let me walk out with a crooked piercing. The guy who answers the phone is also really rude. He kept calling me "buddy" and I am a woman. He says things like "yup" and just has a very rude attitude. If looking for a septum piercing I would go some place else. Read Less

Came in to touch up a small tattoo on my hand while my friend got one on her wrist. I ended up also getting the one in my back fixed on a whim. Our artist (I want to say Danny?) was friendly and creative. He did a great job and really got my mind thinking on what else I could do. The tattoo on my back used to be 3 cherry blossoms but all of the color had faded out and you could barely see it. And in his words it was just like 3 cherry blossom stamps on my back. With his creative mind we fixed up the blossoms and expanded it. It looks amazing now, totally love it. He is also incredibly skilled in shading. My friend is also really pleased with her tattoo. In tears about my tattoo I got today. I was so hopeful and trusting that they would do a good job in covering up an old tattoo but I don't think my tattoo artist executed. The picture I showed him compared to what I got is a complete difference. I hate to write a bad review because they were very nice and accommodating. I just feel like I did not get what I asked for, even when we had the picture right next to us for reference. I was told Lai was experienced with cover ups, he covered my old one but did not do a good job giving me what I asked for. I was also charged way too much. My cover up tattoo was the size of a quarter maybe even smaller, and he charged me over a hundred dollars. I tipped him cash. But as soon as I left, I immediately felt like I wanted to cry because of the disappointment. Based on the 5 star reviews I was expecting higher quality work. I had called in to see if there were any openings for three people (two small tattoos and one medium sized one) on a Friday night. At first there was no availability, but I later received a call saying that there was a cancelation. Tattoo Hawaii is a dope little spot! We were greeted instantly by the owner (I don't think I ever got her name, but she's a total badass!). Lai was able to accommodate all three of us, and did an above and beyond job. Lai customized and hand drew my Polynesian piece right on my arm, asking along the way what I thought of it. He's hella friendly and chill, and made the process of getting tattooed super easy. I wanted to figure out a way to pay tribute to the other half of my ancestors by getting some work done.  Peggy and I played email tag leading up to my trip to Oahu.  I wish she was at the shop on one of the days I went in so I could put a name to the face!  She was down to earth and easy to schedule my consult/appointment dates.  Originally my consult was with Doug because many friends recommended him so that's who I originally wanted to go with.I showed up at 7pm on a Monday and Lai greeted me first.  I got to meet Doug as well and both of them told me to go through their portfolios to see who's style I liked better.  Both of them have great energy so it was just personal preference as far as the style I wanted.On the Thursday of my appointment, I showed up and Sean (Shawn?)/Doug opened the shop. Lai came in soon after and did the initial sketch.  I wanted a Polynesian style tattoo and wanted one almost exactly like the one in his portfolio.  Lai told me "No two tattoos I do are the same."  At that moment I knew that he had the ability to read people's energy because my design was extraordinary and awesome. I've been wanting to get a forward helix piercing for a while now and I finally got around to getting it! I went to Tattoo Hawaii about two months ago. It was a Sunday and wasn't sure if it was a typically busy day of the week for them so I called to see if an appointment was necessary. Peggy answered and she was just the sweetest. I called around noon and she said I could just walk in. I got there about an hour or two later and was immediately greeted by Peggy. I told her I called earlier and I wanted to get a forward helix. She gave me a few papers to sign and I was taken into her room right after that. Peggy made me feel comfortable throughout the whole process. She's been piercing for several years so she knows what she's doing! First she dotted where she was going to pierce but before that, I asked her if I had room for a double forward helix and she said yes. She did recommend I come back a few weeks later to get the second piercing in and she wouldn't want to do it at the same time just so I'm able to heal properly first. I appreciated her honesty. I haven't gone back yet for the 2nd piercing but will definitely get around to doing so.As far as pain, I didn't think it hurt too much. I'd give it a 5/10 but everyone's pain tolerance is different. The only other piercing I've had on my ears before besides my earlobes is my rook piercing that I got pierced at a shop in Oregon (which I took out several months ago, honestly I was just over it lol) and I didn't think that one hurt very much either. Months after seeing Peggy, my piercing is healing perfectly. Following take home instructions and keeping the area clean is crucial! I've read online that it takes about 3-6 months to completely heal but for myself, the area is not tender, doesn't hurt, I'm able to sleep on it and there is no sign of infection at all. Peggy is super amazing! I dropped by for some piercings, she was super friendly, clean, relaxed, walked me through the process and was wonderful at explaining aftercare. I dropped in yesterday to see if I got a good vibe from the place after reading the reviews of several tattoo artists in the area. Peggy worked with me on a design and I ended up going right away to have Dave work on my tattoo. This is my third and by far the best experience I've had. Had a great time talking to Dave while he did his work and learned a few things about the island well. I'm so happy with how this turned out and will definitely recommend them to anyone I can. I can honestly say Doug is the man. The whole overall atmosphere there is great. This is the ONLY shop on the island that I get my artistic pieces from. Art is the only word to describe their work.
