I walked in, wanting a small anklet tattoo on Friday afternoon.. I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted so I gave Shanti a couple of examples and one that tied in with another tattoo of mine, he was super awesome about what he could do and what would work etc. and basically told me, he could do it right now, but if I'm planning on going back to the beach - which I was - he'd recommend getting it done on my last day.. So I suggested Sunday evening, because Monday was my chill out, last day. I've just finished a little under 2 hours ago and I honestly couldn't be happier! Great tattoo shop! I would highly recommend Suite Dreamz to anyone looking for your next tattoo, or even your first. The shop was very clean, had a great atmosphere and amazing artists. The artists here ensure that you leave with a tattoo you're satisfied with. Staff were laid back, friendly and helpful. I made an appointment closer to the end of my visit and there was a deposit, but it was reasonable and went towards the overall cost of my tattoo. This shop does accept walk-ins too if you're more on the spontaneous side. The prices here are reasonable, especially for Waikiki. They base their price on size and intricacy. This tattoo shop is the best on island. Neil and Jack are both excellent and Versatile talented artists. As pictured Neil did my pray hands and god is great than the highs and lows tattoo on my arm while Jack did the ear lines and Polynesian behind my ear. Neil is great with realism and black and grey as well as Polynesian and he also does color. Jack specializes in Polynesian. Neil and Jack can do most anything. They both can free hand Polynesian tattoos and any tattoo you give him can for sure accommodate. The shop is clean and the staff is friendly. You won't regret getting tattooed by either. Don't look any future then getting tattooed by Neil or Jack. There the best tattoo artist on the island. And the prices are very fair too. You get what you pay for. Shop minimum is $80. First time in Hawaii and very big on tattoos. After doing some research I came across this place which was local and had the best reviews all around. Two individuals I met were Neil and Jacks. I had the pleasure of having Jacks do a Polynesian tribal band on my leg and after the photos of his work I wasn't going anywhere else. Neil was referred from a friend of a friend. Messaged him a day before I met him. It was my first time getting a tattoo. Didn't know what to expect to be honest other than being painful. So as an avid tattoo collector I'd like to think I know a bit about shops, etiquette etc. this place has it all. Talk about getting the most out of a small place this does it!! My wife and I went in to get matching tattoos and they took us right away. The gentleman working the front (Shanti.... hope I spelled it right) took total care of us. I was a little apprehensive getting the total tourist pineapple tattoo but he reassured us and he actually did both of ours. SUPER clean tattoo that we are both so happy with. Stayed at the Hyatt hotel for my vacation and stumbled upon this gem while walking the area. I walked in and was immediately greeted with an Aloha from Joy and Neil! Broke down what I wanted to get and booked an appointment with them immediately! (They we're booked that day) By the way, you know you want to get something done while on your trip, book early. Can't tell you how many last minute customers walked in trying to get work done at this shop. Neil is the owner of the shop and the same person who tatted me. Super cool and talented guy. Neil is nothing short of amazing - check his work on instagram for yourself. He did a stunning lotus flower cover up of the kanji on my neck. Both symbolize growth for me - I was just looking for something more feminine and fitting for this chapter of my path. You get what you paid for. I can't begin to thank Neil and his staff enough for this amazing turn around job he did. The basic photo was a tattoo I got from a guy in Seattle and after 4 hours that's all that was produced. He told me it would take another 3 sessions. That's when I decided I was going to leave it up to a professional, I found Neil on Instagram and after reading the reviews and seeing the work he did for cover ups I knew this was definitely going to work out for me. I sent a message on Instagram and received a response within a day, was able to make the appointment and deposit without a problem. He did a great job and was clean about his whole work station, even showed me that he was using new needles. LOVE my tattoo. If you are looking for a place to get a tattoo, Suite Dreamz Tattoo is a place I would recommend. I was on the search to find an artist and couldn't find the right person. On my search, I looked to Yelp and looked for a tattoo shop in waikiki. Suite Dreamz Tattoo was the first that came up. I walked over and was greeted by the apprentice. He was very kind and helpful. I shared with him my ideas. He said the guy I should talk to is Neil. When I got the chance to meet Neil, he made me feel a lot more comfortable. We talked about the tattoo idea which is a Hawaiian inspired dream catcher tattoo. I had a drawing my friend drew for me and showed him. He told me his ideas and I was excited. We set up an appointment. The day came and I was nervous, but Neil made me feel right at home. I got the tattoo done on my left shoulder. It did take more than one session but after each session, I fell in love with my tattoo more and more. Once the tattoo was done, I couldn't believe how it turned out. I was shocked. It came out exactly the way I wanted it be. With the love that not only Neil showed, but also Jack and there apprentice. These guys show there passion through there artwork and I am glad that I can showcase Neil's work where ever I go. I am forever grateful for the tattoo that Neil made for me. My wife and I came here at the end of our honeymoon to get tattoos to commemorate the occasion. We came in a week before our session to schedule a time and it was pretty easy and straightforward booking a session. Neil tattooed a tribal piece on my R shoulder and Jack did a small piece on my wife's upper right back. This was my second tattoo and I was looking for a Polynesian tribal piece, Neil was very thorough in mapping out his artwork on my arm before tattooing. I could tell that he was very intensely focused on imagining the design in his head. Neil was a good conversationalist and it helped to pass the 4 hour tattoo session. Knowing that I'm Filipino, he even incorporated Filipino tribal designs on my arm to keep thing authentic. At the end of our session he went through and explained each pattern's rich meaning. It's been a couple of month's but I still stare amazed at the artwork on my arm everyday. My wife wanted a side portrait of Mother Mary holding baby Jesus and Jack was the artist who did her piece. She pulled up a general idea of what she wanted online and Jack took some time aside to draw his imagined piece out on paper. He was able to incorporate Polynesian designs in the abstract piece which is exactly what my wife was looking for.  This was her first tattoo and Jack was extremely focused on executing the fine details of it. My wife and I were amazed at the level of detail he got on such a small tattoo. Both men were professional, courteous, and helped us feel at ease. It was everything I wanted and more!! I also saw a few other pieces and it seems that both artists were more talented than most artists I have come across. Neil did a tattoo for my best friend and I do it took a huge chunk of the day but we were never bored. There are food options all around and the conversation was nice. Like many others that have done reviews for Suite Dreamz, I also came to Hawaii for a vacation. While I was here, I decided to get my very first tattoo, and sought out the most reputable tattoo parlor on Oahu. Suite Dreams came highly recommended and Yelp reviews confirmed. Walked in one night and booked the appointment for 7/21/17 with Jack. Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable. Jack is an amazing artist and I admire his talent. He came up with a design for my calf which was beautiful, and then I decided to make a few changes at the last minute. What he came up with was nothing short of a beautiful piece of art on my calf-which is what I think a tattoo should always be. I couldn't be more pleased!! This was my second time coming to get tattooed by Neil! He was able to accommodate and sketch out my tattoo with a two day notice. I live in NYC and there's a ton of great artists here, but I still chose to get tattooed by Neil because he was the first artist to ever say no to an idea based on the fact that it would decrease the longevity of my tattoo. A week over due... I have NEVER felt so comfortable at a Tattoo studio than at Suite Dreamz! I walked in and was acknowledged by the apprentice and the Owner Neal who was tatting another customer. I started talking with the apprentice and Neal came and introduced himself and looked at what and where I wanted my cover up to be. He had another apprentice take a picture on his Ipad of what would be covered up and made sure it was the angle and distance away from the spot so he could do a good sketch. There is a $40 deposit and $80 store minimum (pretty standard minimum, Great deal especially in waikiki) I scheduled my appointment and walked in day of and felt comfortable. He showed me the sketch, asked if i liked it but also told me it would be done free hand once he draws the main part of the outline.  And gave me a price range which was less than what I was anticipating It's a small shop which I like because it's Neal(owner/artist) and Jack who is the other artist so it feels personal. Its not too crazy or too busy like other places I've been that they're  talking with their buddies while tatting you!  Neal constantly kept checking how I was doing and if I needed any breaks. I had a great experience and am ECSTATIC with his FREE HAND talent! I twitched many times but am beyond happy of what he did! This review is not for any tattoo work, just a first impression. A bad one.I came to Hawaii back in February and my plans for my final day there were thwarted by mother nature. Snorkeling trip and luau cancelled. So, I thought of what I could do in the rain and tattoo came to mind. I have a small hawaiian flower on my right shoulder blade that I wanted to get added on to, to commemorate my first solo trip to HI. I wasn't sure of what exactly I wanted, other than more flowers, but I figured, they are artists and would be able to give me some guidance. When I first walked in, I was very taken back. Very loud rap music playing and there were about 4 or 5 guys sitting around the shop. I am assuming they were drawing, but I couldn't tell you. I had to shout over the music to tell then what I was thinking about getting. The guy at the front referred to me to a few artist porfolios they had sitting on the counter. The only thing in these books was tribal work. It was great, but not what I was looking for at all. They also had no tattos poster boards like most shops do so you can take a look and get some ideas. Nothing.I explained that I wanted two or three hawaiian flowers added on, maybe a leaf here and there and asked him what he thought. The guy at the front told me this other guy could help me. He mostly answered, "well I don't know what you want". It seemed like they wanted nothing to do with my business and that I was an inconvenience for them. They gave me a quick price (for what? I don't know) but I told them I would think about it. I walked out and went to a different tattoo shop that was much more open to helping me come up with designs. P.S. There was also something shady going on with the second guy who spoke with me. He was clearly trying to hide an object that he did not want me to see. I kept telling myself WRITE THIS REVIEW and I kept putting it off so now, bored at work, I'm writing this review.  I was in Hawaii almost a year ago and I had the mission of finding a tattoo parlor with good reviews for my friends and I. I actually tried a different place first but they wouldn't answer their phone so I started scoping out Suite Dreamz!My friend and I went in and made an appointment for a few hours later, when we came back Sam met with us and talked over what we wanted. Sam was very professional and friendly! He gave my friend some pro-tips to calm his nerves about getting tattooed and it was a great experience for him. When it was my turn, Sam first tried to sketch out my tattoo onto my leg to freehand it, but then decided it would be better to make a stencil. I appreciated that he changed his mind rather than just trying to freehand it when he wasn't confident in it. It took him a while to sketch it out, but once he did I was SO HAPPY with it. He stayed late to finish up my piece and I'm very grateful!He forgot to cross the "t" in "thinking", I didn't notice until one of my friends pointed it out the next day and it probably would've taken me ages to notice on my own. Jack was AMAZING. And super chill.I can't remember the last time i walked into a studio feeling nervous to walk out feeling actually happy. I've always had artists that never seemed happy with what YOU want. And yet i walked out with a huge smile on my face.Jack was completely open and did such an amazing job. The detail is on point and his line work is perfection. I was a walk in aswell and he sketched what i wanted off the bat.
