I stumbled upon this shop through yelp and after a quick visit, I had set up an appointment for the following day (deposit is needed to make appointment, cash only). I came here for my VERY FIRST tattoo for my 18th birthday while on vacation with my best friends. I looked up this place on yelp and they had amazing reviews. I booked an appointment through the phone and they were very accommodating to our schedule!! I came here for my tattoo at around 8PM. When walking in the store, it was very small and homey! They employees made us super comfortable and cracked many jokes LOL. They took the time to listen to our ideas and personalized a tattoo just for us!! SHOUTOUT TO DANIEL for being an amazing tattoo artist!!!! I got it on my ribs which is one of the most painful spots to get a tattoo but IT WAS LITERALLY PAINLESS!!!!!! Got my first tattoo done here 6 months ago. It healed really well and I'm so happy with the results. They confused me with another client and so they weren't prepared for me, but it was so last minute that it's understandable. They can work with you and are accommodating with the schedule. My tattoo and the sketching took roughly 2 hours to complete, I got a flower that I'm in love with. The guy I was with, can't remember who, didn't talk to me and basically ignored me through the whole process. He also didn't provide me with any aftercare information. It was pricier than expected for a medium sized black and white piece. I showed up pretty last minute looking for an appointment for the day that I was leaving, they had no problem squeezing me in. Daniel did a hibiscus flower on my upper arm and I have to say it's my favourite piece I have on my body. The entire staff in the shop were all around great. Me and my friend both got 2 tattoos each this afternoon with Mike Davis. For me, it was tattoos 3 and 4 and I couldn't have asked for a better experience from booking the appointment to actually getting the tattoo. When we arrived at the shop Mike greeted us and we showed him what we wanted. He was prompt, friendly, and made us both feel very comfortable throughout the whole process. The shop is clean, in a great location, and all equipment was sterile. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone who is looking to get a tattoo while visiting Oahu. My only note is to bring cash as they prefer you pay in cash (there is an atm at the shop) and the shop minimum is actually $80 their website hasn't been changed in awhile I guess. Read Less

By far the worse tattoo shop experience I've EVER had.  I decided to walk in and get a quote for a tattoo I had in mind. The guy there in which I don't remember his name (light skinned, colored eyes and a flipped up mustache)was so rude and not helpful at all. My husband and I stopped in on a whim and were initially turned off by the day staff. They seemed dismissive of our wanting work done and quoted us double what the artist actually charged us. I have ink, so I knew the quote was super high and as such we left. I KNEW based on reviews that this experience was unique so we came back at night when new artists would likey be there and we are super glad we did. First, if you check in on Yelp you receive 10% Off. I don't know if that's specific to this shop, but it was a nice gesture. Daniel was our artist and not only is he talented as heck, he's friendly, has great conversation and was more than deserving of being the artist he is. The other artist, Mike I believe, was also in working and was great too. While there both tourists and locals came in and were treated great. As a matter of fact, a lady who happened to be getting work the first time we came in had to come back because what she wanted wasn't what she got. Daniel fixed it as well. Let me start by saying Vince is amazing. I wanted to have an 5-year old tattoo on my shoulder expanded with a 'Polynesian turtle' motif. After a few text messages exchanged with Daniel, I booked an appointment with Vince. First off, the atmosphere in the shop is relaxed and friendly. Both Daniel and Vince are super cool. I was in Makaha on vacation and looked around all over Oahu for a parlor. I found this one online and it had great reviews and a lot of artists. I insta-stalked all the artists and fell in love with Daniel's work. Vince answered all my questions honestly, told me what colors/patterns he thought would be best for my idea and told me how to set up an appointment. Sacred Art is a great shop, but this review is really about one of their artists, Little Chris. He is truly the best tattoo artist on Oahu. His work is so phenomenal and his talent is absolutely unreal, plus he's such a nice and humble guy. I did SIX sessions with him to complete the sleeve on my arm and he did such an awesome job. I literally get stopped with so many compliments on my work that it can be annoying at times, but the detail and shading on my pieces are so AMAZING that it's truly a show stopper. Could not be happier. Tattoos hurt and the process sucks, but having an artist like Chris who helped me plan my sleeve, custom designed each piece based on exactly what I wanted, and was super cool to talk to the entire time made the experience awesome over all. I cannot recommend him enough.The only thing that sucks is that this Waikiki location does not have good parking options, but sometimes I got lucky with street parking nearby. i got my very first piercing here and it went bye so quickly. I got a belly button piercing and it was very fast and let me say the dude who pierced me told me to breath in and out and it really helped. I just knew i was gonna cry lol or even pass out... i am that dramatic hahaha but it was super easy. I would say the pain is about a 3 maybe and i hate needles so i was surprised. The piercer even told me how to take of my piercing and even talked me into thinking about getting a tattoo in the future. Okay so this tattoo shop is the shit! I'm here in Oahu for partially a vacation and partially just coming back to where I was born. I wanted to get a tattoo and I found this shop the first night I got in! It was meant to be. I spoke to Mike and then came back 3 days later which is today. Mike did my tattoo and he is just the nicest most chill guy ever. I showed him a reference pic of what I wanted which was a turtle ( he is the turtle king) and from there he started doing a rough draft of the tat and then I gave him the okay to do whatever he wanted with it. He made it look more realistic then he reference pic, added some white in it and a few bubbles. I love the damn tattoo! I got the piece on my foot so obviously it hurt like a bitch BUT Mike has very gentle hands so you are safe. Please go to this shop! The music, the artist,the everything is great. I wanted a permanent reminder of my visit to Hawaii and the staff was really quick to return my yelp inquiry. The answers were straightforward and I was offered a consultation even if they were booked. My consultation helped me decide on a totally custom and symbolic tattoo that perfectly summed up my trip (as well as how I got to this point in my life). They told me an ankle band would be painful but it wasn't quite as bad as I expected. The staff joked and had fun even though my "ankle jerk" reflex wanted to continually show up. Three hours later and after closing time I was completely satisfied. And, the tattoo cost less than I budgeted!Highly, highly recommend based on quality, creativity and price. My best friends and I came in here the same day for 3 (different) tattoos to take home from our vacation in Oahu. I am always a nervous wreck when it comes to needles, especially tattoos. I got blessed with Mike Hatfield as my artist and I wouldn't have had it any other way. He took the idea I had and ran with it. I was unsure about placement and was very set on having it on a certain side of my body. Mike took all the extra time and even went to the neighboring ABC store to get me some water since it was clear that I was very nervous. As I laid on the table, he wasn't a heavy handed artist, and was very fast. Accurate and beautiful & fast. Hard to find in an artist, especially one who is in a tourist city and would (I assume), treat customers like another fast sale. No. I felt so special and taken care of, and made sure I was nothing short of 1000% satisfied. Even replaced the stencil 5 times because I wasn't sure, and took numerous breaks just to make the process less nerve wracking and painful for me. I'm really disappointed, I did a tattoo in August 2016 and only two months later, part of the tattoo was erased. I contacted them and I had a person who was sorry for me and offered to refund me $ 50. Since no news we have made various exchanges in writing and it is nobody there ever done anything for me so do not go. It was that I was really important to me as well as where it was made (hawaii). My boyfriend and I were on vacation and this shop was recommended by a coworker(from cali), so we decided to spontaneously walk in to check out some art work. Tomo was the only one in the shop (1/8/17) when we've arrived, with a couple of in and out customers making appointments. Lucky, Tomo wasn't busy when I decided to get a tattoo on the spot.I've been insecure with my scar right under my bellybutton so where else would I want it?This scar cover up is one of the best decisions I've made and I'm glad I was able to work with Tomo.  He is very passionate with his art and takes his time to perfectly line and shade the proper places. Got my souvenir tattoo the day before I left oahu. Was very impressed with guys at the shop.  They were very professional (not the usual raunchy talk I've experienced at other shops). The shop was clean and welcoming.  Mike D did a great job on my tatt. I now have a permanent reminder of my wonderful vacation in waikiki.  I hope one day I make it back and maybe add some ink. Had a great experience at Sacred Heart today. This shop is very clean with plenty of artwork on display to pick and choose from.Since my vacation is coming  to an end I decided to get two tattoos. I have always wanted to add to my collection for years now. I decided to get two Japanese symbols. I got Power and Spirit which represents who I am.I forgot the young man's name who did my tatto. I am bad with names but he did an excellent job.it took him only an hour to do both of them. His technique was not painful at all. We had the pleasure of visiting Sacred Art today on our last day in Oahu and I am so glad we did. They are located right next door to the hotel we have been staying at (Hilton Hawaiian Village).Mark was our artist and a really cool guy. He did a great job on my tattoo, and he was also able to add a small personal change I requested without skipping a beat.
