Conor is a talented artist and all around good guy. He's easy to talk too and makes sure that your tattoo is just how you want it. Would definitely recommend him! Note: the place can be a little hard to find since it's on the backside of a building and up the stairs but don't let that deter you from getting your ink here. It's a good, clean shop! Read Less

I got an eyebrow piercing here about 3 years ago and it was very professionally done, they really took the time to get the exact placement that I wanted. They also took the time to explain the threading of the bar and was able to redo an old piercing on that spot that was not done correctly the first time by a different shop. I haven't been yet, but I have spoken on the phone several times with Connor about all the details of getting my ears pierced. I'm afraid of the needle!  Connor is a very patient, polite, and just a kind person. He took his time answering all of my questions. In 2013 my husband and I were referred to rockstar by an artist in Maui.  We weren't able to do work sooner on the trip as it would have limited us in our activities.  Connor was awesome in taking us in and completing the beautiful design Jerry did.  We never got to rate Connor for his work but it is beautiful and commemorated our 12 year anniversary.  We're coming back this week Aug 23rd 2017 and hoping to do more with our tattoos to extend the designs further. So amazing! Called all over O’ahu for a VCH piercing and Indica was amazing she talked to me over the phone and told me everything I needed to know, fast forward I came in to consult with Connor and was so nervous as this is my first piercing (other than my ears) and he gave me my piercing so swiftly it didn’t even hurt. Was more of a shock effect. He showed me the needle and everything before he pierced me and indica was right there with me making me feel comfortable. Will definitely be back! I had booked an appointment 2 weeks in advance for multiple piercings for myself and a friend. On the day of the appointment, we walked through the door on time only to find out the piercer would not be back in-shop for at least 2 more hours. I cannot fairly judge the service, however I would have greatly appreciated receiving some type of notification of such a change- especially since I was only on Island for 4 days. I was really looking forward to this experience considering many of my friends have received stellar service from the crew here. I've been wanting to repierce my ears since the holes closed a few years back. I don't like needles so I kept putting it off. I finally get the courage to call and make an appointment. Everything was working out as planned; Drop off son at Kapiolani park for soccer practice and walk over to get my ears pierced. After about a 25 min walk I find out that I can't get my ears pierced because they only accept cash! According to yelp they accept cards. I questioned it and they said they used to, but there's an ATM around the corner. I don't use my credit card to take out cash. And that was the only thing I was carrying on me at that time. So disappointed I had to leave with no pierced ears. What a waste of time and all I got was a lousy apology. Not so great with customer service. Read Less

My boyfriend and I saw the reviews on this place and decided to go in and have a consultation for a tattoo that he had in mind. We spoke to Conor and were really pleased and felt very comfortable. He told us that H would be best for what my boyfriend had in mind, so he booked an appointment. The day we came in, H had a sketched ready for us to see. He made a few adjustments after we went over it. Since we are dealing with a cover up and either a half or whole sleeve. H took his time was very patient, and understanding. So far his sleeve is looking super cool, and I can't wait to see it all done.In the meantime my boyfriend had been telling me that I should get one as well. And so to make the long story short... I was really missing my nose piercing and I went into town to rock star. My last piercing experience at a shop on the west side was awful-I went in and the piercer was very abrupt. He walked me in the back, had me sit down, and after very quickly asking me exactly where I wanted the piercing, without warning, pierced my nose. Even though I'm not new to piercing, he didn't even give the talk about healing and keeping it clean. But, Conor, the piercer, was the sauce! Very friendly and he talked me through everything (I got a double piercing on my right nostril). Plus, he was cute. I went to this place to get a commemorative tattoo of my Hawaiian vacation and Laz did NOT disappoint. Not gonna lie, the location is shady AF, but the yelp reviews were good so I went in anyway. They were very accommodating of what I wanted and the wait was non existent. I showed Laz a pic of what I wanted and he was able to make it my own. I also lost my nose stud in the Hawaiian ocean and the piercer (didn't catch his name sadly) hooked me up with a new ring and install for $10. Tattoo came out to $100 and I love it. Came across this place on my yelp, they had amazing reviews and were close by. Me and my boyfriend were staying in Waikiki and I last minute really wanted to get a piercing. I ended up deciding to get my Daith pierced. Walked in, and $47 later, I had an amazing new piercing. It was quick and painless. They weren't that talkative or personable. I have been looking a good tattoo shop in Hawaii for a while and read a lot Yelp review. Finally, I found a really good and professional tattoo shop in Waikiki. First time I walked in the shop honestly I felt a little bit nervous, but after couple minutes to talk to Conor and Laz I felt they are really friendly. I had a really ugly tattoo with me about 10 years, it looks bumpy and some area had thick scar after two to three times of laser treatment, but it didn't remove so I gave up. I have been thinking to cover it long time, but I just want to make sure I can find a really good tattoo artist and a good pictures I will never regret this time. After I share my concern, I showed Laz some pictures and tell him my ideas, and very soon he already can tell me how he will did my coverup and describe to me clearly. After about two weeks, I went to the workshop and he showed me his sketch, I was surprised and really really like his sketch and he was really patient to discuss the colors with me for a while and also he add a lot details in my coverup tattoo. I got my first tattoo ever done here and I was pretty nervous to begin with. I visited four shops in Honolulu and in the end decided to go with Rock Star. I absolutely LOVE my tattoo and everyone at the shop made me feel so comfortable throughout the whole process. They took the time to walk me through the after care and healing process and answered my endless questions! I plan to get a second tattoo done here before I leave the island in about a year. For the past 8 years, I have been searching for an artist on island to continue work on my canvas.I found Lazarus through a friend he is the second person ever to ink my skin. He is not only professional and focused, but he is also friendly and has a light touch. Blasting is his true passion and it shows not only in his pieces, but while also under the needle. Our first impression walking down to the alley between 2 bars was not a good one. But, I learned real quick not to judge a book by its cover. My wife and I were on our honeymoon and we had the intention on getting tattoos that were the same idea, not matching. When we first came in we were ...greeted by a tattoo artist by the name Lazarus. After talking to Lazarus for a few minutes, he seemed to know what he was talking about. We showed him our ideas and he measured our calves. After a little bit more talking he gave us a quote and we were satisfied. The shop minimum is $80, so if you want something small you might want to go somewhere else. After about 30 minutes in the shop, we put down a deposit and we walked back to our hotel. We started looking at reviews of the shop, and they were all great about the shop. But, there was nothing on Lazarus except one vague, "Lazarus did a great job!" Quote. We looked up some more reviews on Facebook of the shop and a little more research. There was very little information on Lazarus. But, we already paid the deposit and we were scheduled for 2 o'clock the next day. We came to terms in just trusting that Lazarus knows what he is doing. The next day we showed up at 1:30 and Lazarus was just finishing up the drawings. After about 15 minutes, he came downstairs to show us his drawings.....boom....perfect. Both of them. Exactly what we both wanted! Not a single thing changed. He finally brought us upstairs and I was first on the table. I forgot to mention, this was my very first tattoo. I got myself a little worked up at first, but once it started it was no problem. Lazarus, the wife and I were all laughing and having a good time the entire time. About an hour and a 1/2 went by and I was done. I was finally able to see it, and I loved every last line of it. What an amazing job. The wife's took a little bit longer because of coloring and a little more shading. But, Lazarus kept us entertained the whole time. After it was all said and done, we tipped well him and parted ways. I went to Rockstar after picking up one of their business cards at an event. They were pretty easy to find, right across the street from the Waikiki Trade Center, sort of behind Tsunami's. They have a sign out on the side walk and the whole store front is lit up in neon, so you can't miss it!As soon as I went in I was greeted with a smile and "How can I help you today?" (Their customer service was bomb!) I was considering getting a tattoo, because of their awesome Yelp deal (30% off a tattoo when you check in), but I didn't have a lot of time, so I decided to just get a cartilage piercing.The staff worked quickly and like clockwork. I signed the paperwork, paid (they accept cash or card), and only had to wait about five minutes while they set up. My piercer's name was Jay, and he was so cool. He talked story with us and had me laughing, so I was super comfortable by the time I got the piercing. I was not tense at all, which made it very comfortable (as comfortable as sticking a needle through your cartilage can be, lol). Even while we were talking, he educated me about the correct jewelry size, how to take care of the piercing, etc. It was all familiar to me but I appreciated his help. The piercing room was super cool, with a white leather reclining chair and all kinds of sterlized equipment stored in cabinets. Their lobby is clean and welcoming, with lots of art, and all kinds of unique body jewelry in display cases.I like Rockstar, I'd definitely go back for a tattoo or more piercings! Read Less

My wife and I had always talked about getting our first tattoos after we got married. But most importantly (to me) was that the owner shared the same name as me. Very rarely do I come across another Conor who spells it with one N. It was a sign!My wife and I were lucky enough to have Conor do our tattoos and it was a fantastic experience. He was very professional and kept it a very relaxed environment which we both appreciated as we were a bit nervous about the whole thing. My tattoo took about 2 hours, but it flew by and honestly didn't hurt anywhere near as much as I was expecting. In the end, I'm so happy we stopped at Rock Star. I got piercings done by Conor and it was good so I thought I would go back to get a tattoo by them. I got Dan as the available artist. Dan took forever to get started. He was late, went bathroom, and smoked a cigarette all while knowing I was waiting. Then my tattoo keloid and isn?t even straight. The lines are all crooked and aren?t smooth.
