I wanted and I made and appointment and put down a deposit. My appointment was for Friday 2/9 at noon. Brian had drawn up the design for me that included the elements I asked for and it was even more beautiful than anything I had pictured. He managed to incorporate the ocean sunset design I loved, altered it to include flowers instead of leaves and he worked in the Polynesian element I wanted. He massively exceeded my expectations. The appointment was great. Brian is a skilled tattoo artist, he is very personable and I enjoyed talking with him as he used his 6-7 colors of black and grey to create my tattoo. Pacific soul is a place that eminates community vibes and allegiance to family. When you walk in the shop you're walking into a home. It was a privilege to be tattooed by Paulo. Like one review said, he quickly whips up a beautiful tattoo that flows nicely with your anamtomy. I went there with a friend while we were visiting Hawai'i. Our artist was Steve, and he did an amazing job! We felt super comfortable right away, and although we had some difficulties to describe what we wanted, he got it and it turned out perfectly. Went to see Brian today for my third tattoo.  I got one with him a few weeks back and my friend got one with Brian as well. His work is amazing.  His work is very detailed.. He talks with you to ensure you are getting what you really want and checks it over with you to ensure you are happy and know what you are getting.  Today I got simple coordinates, but he didn't treat it like a simple tattoo.  He confirmed my numbers three times and also showed me how my tattoo would move with my skin. I highly recommend Pacific Soul Tattoo and Brian.. Their facility is clean, great staff and nice atmosphere. What I wanted was small—a simple tattoo of the Hawaiian islands with O’ahu filled in (where I was born—I now live in Northern California). I got my first tattoo done by Brian. Took me a while to find a place and find someone who I can trust...i mean well duh a tattoo is forever it has to be perfect. I met Brian through a girlfriend of mine and discovered his work through his Instagram. I was very impressed with his work and after careful consideration I contacted him. We had set up a consultation and we discussed what i wanted...he was able to answer all my questions and any concerns...he listened to my ideas and voiced his professional opinion and that made me feel at ease and very excited. So, a week after he contacted me that he had my piece drawn up and i was to come take a look and approve....VERY IMPRESSED! I set my $100.00 deposit and my appointment.The shop itself is on point. We are very loyal to this place, they do such great work. Yes it can be pricey, minimum at the shop is $100 and $100 if you want to book an appointment as a deposit, but you are paying for the great professionalism. Paulo is by far one of the best tattoo artist my boyfriend and I have experienced, he is very dedicated to his work and will draw you a piece that you think how will he fill this in? But at the end you will be in awe. He is amazing at Polynesian work and his details are fantastic. Brian is also great, we got a couple tattoos and he did a very nice job. This place is awesome and I can't wait to go next month to work on my 1/2 sleeve.Update: Paulo just finished my 1/2 sleeve in one sitting (6 hours). I absolutely love it! Hands down I must say this is the best tattoo shop I've ever been to. This is also the same place I got my first tattoo. Though I've been to other places to do my first tattoo but those establishments did not pass my standards. How ever pacific soul tattoo did. They're establishment is very neat, clean, and organized. I don't know how they managed to squeeze me in on such short notice for the piece I wanted (this place came HIGHLY recommended by my buddy who is a regular both in Hawaii as well as during conventions on the mainland) & everything that I've heard about them is 100% true. I knew I wanted to get a polynesian tattoo during my trip to Honolulu. I did some yelping and I had two parlors suggested. I looked more into Pacific Soul and decided on this place based on the yelp reviews and portfolios posted on their site. I had an idea of what I wanted, I saw a certain design posted on Tahitian artist, Manu's site and brought that image into Pacific Soul. I was initially looking for Steven to do my piece but he was off and I was directed to Paulo. I showed Paulo the photo of what I wanted, and lo and behold, the photo I had was an actual work he did himself! Doh! Why didn't I read the credit on the photo lol he's associated with Manu! So I got super lucky to have Paulo do my piece!Paulo is hands down the best tattoo artist I've had the privilege to work on me, I have had 4 other tattoos prior to Paulo. He freehanded my tattoo and it was beyond what I had envisioned. I super duper love the work! His skills are ridiculous! His sketch and technique are both perfect. The shading is AMAZING. Although it hurt like a major b&**^%, I absolutely love the work. Very satisfied!! I would seriously go back and get more work done by him! I'm also surprised by how much I was charged, I really think his tattooing skills should have cost a lot more, but I guess I can't complain lol he's very humble by his works as well.Everyone who works at this parlor were super chill and cool.
