Hm sad to say but one employee was not all there while I was getting a tattoo. They were acting kinda funny and seen their eyes roll back while tattooing me. Was very disapointed that they are working there and had the audacity to tattoo someone in that state. A tattoo is going to be on a person for a very long time and for this employee to be doing his job like this just makes this shop look unprofessional please check your staff and make sure they are focused and not under any kind of influences. Ok, so skip to the next paragraph for the actual review. Continue reading if you want to know the background story (lol). A friend and I were in town on vacation for Labor Day weekend & we had this great idea to get tattoos before we left. In hindsight, we probably should have made reservations prior to that weekend, but alas such is life. Anyway, we obviously wanted to wait until the last day to get our tattoos because we didn't want to be limited on beach/water time because we had this new ink on our skin. I probably called all the tattoo shops from Waimea to Waikiki that morning to no avail - everyone was booked or not even open (it was Labor Day). We finally found one shop that agreed to take us in as a walk-in. We were told we'd be waiting for 15-20 mins, but ended up waiting for almost an hour and hadn't even been seen. (Mind you, our flight was boarding in about 2.5 hrs... talk about last minute). But we obviously didn't want to leave without getting our tats. So this first shop finally said they wouldn't be able to do both of us in our limited window of time and referred us to 434.I immediately called as a last ditch effort and spoke with Adam. I explained the situation, what we wanted, and time constraint and he initially told me that he honestly wouldn't be able to do both of us in that short of a time slot (We had an hour MAX before we needed to head to the airport). From the background, someone (Tiffany) yelled, "It's cool, I can help you!" Long story short, he said if we could get there in the next 10-15 mins, they could work on the both of us and be done in the next hour. We busted a mission over there. They were so chill but also very professional. The only downside is that they only accept cash and we had to walk over to 7-11 to withdraw some money (it wasn't far at all), but I can't even dock them for that because they were so accommodating to our situation. By the time we came back to the shop, they were set up and ready to roll. We were done in less than 10 minutes and airport-bound in no time. Even with the rush, their work was clean and professional and I have no regrets at all.Highly recommend this place to anyone. They were incredibly accommodating and friendly and walked us through the whole thing, which was much appreciated considering it was our first tattoo. Thank you guys for being so awesome. The best tattoo shop I have ever been to.  The artwork and craftsmanship is exquisite.  Very professional and great customer service.  My husband and I got tattoos here while on our honeymoon.  Tiffany did both of them and her work was some of the best I have seen.  She stayed to do our tattoos for 2.5 hours later than the shop was open because we came in 15 min before it closed.  I would highly recommend this shop for anyone looking to get a tattoo in Hawaii.  My husband and I will be back to this shop every time we visit Hawaii.  This shop is just a cut above the rest! There are street parking available in the vicinity.  I have been to Adam twice over the past few years.  I am glad my friend referred me to him!  He was very professional, patient, and caring for me during the process.For my first one, I had gone to see a calligrapher to have a few characters written by brush.  I took this writing to Adam and let's just say I was very happy with the finished product.  It had the effect I wanted - to look like it was practically brushed onto the skin itself.  It took me a little while to figure out what and how I wanted my second one to be.  I have a thing for moons, stars, and hearts.  I was able to finally figure out the layout, but I can't draw for beans.  I have no drawing talent whatsoever.  I was able to tell Adam the layout I expected and through his artistic talent, he was able to help me draw out exactly what I wanted.  He even gave me suggestions which I totally loved and agreed to.  Through no fault of his own, there was a line that wasn't the straightest, but that was my fault.  During the process, maybe because of where it was located, I couldn't prevent my body from shaking.  It was totally on me.My first one was done maybe about 8 years ago, my second one maybe about 6 years ago.  I still love it to this day!  And I can't wait to go back.  As soon as I can figure what and where my next one will be! I hate to leave one star but my picture will speak for itself. My boyfriend and I wanted King and Queen of hearts tattoos on our wedding finger. Not only is my Q not the same as the Q on a deck of cards but my heart is only half full (go figure) he free handed it but assured us it would be the same. For $160 for two little tattoos, I'm extremely disappointed. However it is a lifetime touch up for free but what good is that if you don't live there, so idk maybe better for locals. Read Less

We found Adam last year, I got a cover up and my girlfriend got a turtle . Adam was great. Came back this year made an appointment and got in on Friday . I really wasn't sure what I wanted and told him to have fun . Wow it turned out really good and he asked if I wanted to get it finished on Saturday . We said sure and Adam asked if we could come in at 7:00 am, so we could enjoy the rest of the day. I can't wait to come back next year and see what his plan of attack on my arm will be. My husband and I got tattoos before leaving Oahu (my second, his first). His tattoo is amazing. He came in with an idea and Tiff really latched onto it and worked hard to make the stencil amazing. Adam talked to my husband about the style of tattoo (Hawaiian versus Polynesian) and created the perfect blend of shading and darkness. Seriously a gorgeous tattoo. The price is fair, the work was great, the space was clean, the shop workers friendly. My tattoo was less inspiring (a small tribute to my father) and therefore not as impressive, but still alright. My husband likes mine, I'm not in love with it. But they did what I asked, so my own fault. You have to walk in and know exactly what you want, and they will give you a great experience. Read Less

Adam was the artist that tattooed my island thigh piece. I saw him on Tuesday for a very quick consultation and by Thursday (my appt), he had my vision on paper. It was everything I asked for and then some. He says his forte is custom work so I gave him an open canvas. He was very quick, light handed and overall just a cool dude. I highly recommend him for your tattoos. He also offers traditional hand poke method for your Japanese tattoos. Karl Juthans has done amazing work over the past years on my body from music notes and what not to an amazing colorful and most beautiful chrysanthemum flower on my back shoulder I have ever seen in person and online. Great job. Spent several years looking for the perfect running design. After a few revisions and last minute changes by me, the tattoo artist Adam was able to take my vision and nail the design. 27.2 on forearm which is easy enough but the detail in a medal Adam completed was just awesome.Aftercare instructions were thorough and staff was nice.
