My husband and I were visiting Oahu with his parents from France. We were having such an amazing time that his mom came up with idea that we all get matching "aloha" script tattoos! We called the PTF in Haleiwa and they were able to take us on the last day we were there, which was perfect! We came in with the script we wanted and they helped size it out for us and we were able to all get tattooed at once with different tattoo artist. I personally feel like I lucked out with Keoni! I was hesitant at first cause he looked so young, but he did an absolutely amazing job. The script, which was small, has the most perfectly thin fine lines with nuances making it very elegant looking. It's definitely my favorite tattoo. If I'm in Haleiwa again, I will definitely see Keoni again. Not a lot of artist are skilled at working with fine lines, but he is! Also want to mention how friendly they all were! I was flying into Hawaii for my 20th birthday and I knew I had to get a Polynesian tattoo done so I made an appointment to get an ab piece done one-two months in advance with Will. Last minute i decided to change the placement to the shoulders. Really appreciated the fact that Will was so understanding and kind to still be able to do my tattoo. He took the time to write down family members and other info to be able to design my tattoo which was pretty neat. I wanted a tattoo to symbolize my wedding here in Hawai'i. I researched several places and found this shop and the reviews looked great and the work looked awesome. So I surprised my new with an appointment for both of us to get tats. I got an orchid for my bouquet and my husband a traditional tribal hook. Keoni did my tiny orchid behind my ear and it came out perfect just like I asked, simple black and white. Will created a unique design with my husband for his fishing hook. I was in Hawaii for vacation and a wedding. I wanted to get a tattoo on my Birthday which was Jan 6th. I looked up a few tattoo shops on yelp read their reviews and decided to go with this shop. We were on our way to the North Shore and this was a perfect spot for us to stop. I am so happy that we found this shop. As soon as we entered we were greeted warmly and with a very Aloha spirit. So we were in Hawaii, had a great time snorkeling, swimming, eating, and generally enjoying island life. What's left to do?  Get tattoos of course! After doing a little research we settled on the Polynesian Tattoo Factory. We went in and met Will who couldn't take us that day, but made a special accommodation for us to come in first thing the next morning. He gave some suggestions for both of our tattoos which were both creative and respectful. Will was efficient, creative and cheerful. I'm not sure I'll even be able to sum up my amazing experience with Will at the Polynesian Tattoo Factory today.  I did my homework,  asked around,  and tried to really understand polynesian art before finally deciding to get a tattoo while in Hawaii.  By the time I figured out my details,  I thought there was no chance I'd be able to get an appointment for an original artwork piece.   So thankful I was wrong!  For starters Will was very excited to create a piece based off my starting point (shark/ray/turtle).  This alone was encouraging and he was so accommodating to my schedule.  When I arrived be was already well into the design.  He took so much time to create an amazing and meaningful piece to me and my family.  This was just the start though.   Not only did he take the time to learn about my family,  he shared with me so much culture and information during my time there.   He was so passionate about the island and people and it truly helped me connect with it in a way I haven't found before.   I traveled all around the island but found the most enlightening information from Will.  Did I mention he was giving me a unique tattoo?  The tattoo is simply amazing.  The meanings,  the lines,  the shading,  the entire design is light years above my expectations.   But not only do I get to show off his artwork for the rest of my life,  I felt like a part of the community now thanks to my shirt time with Will.   I'm from Philadelphia,  and we're supposed to be the city of brotherly love,  but Will was the ambassador of brotherly love today.   This was an amazing experience and I also received an amazing tattoo as well.  Thanks Will.  You are a wonderful person and I appreciate your openness.   I will be working on my ha.  He went above and beyond out of his way for me today.  Mahalo! I have some of the greatest friends. They decided to pay for my tattoo as a graduation/ going away gift. Obviously very excited but still wanted to do my research. I have my artist back home and had one tattoo done here on the island about a year and half ago. I conducted a research paper on tattoo shops on Oahu last semester, which helped me to get a firm start. After talking with several artists on my list, as usual, time changes everything. Artists change within the shop, the shop changes management, the shop closes, and so on. When I talked to Braddah Will at Polynesian Tattoo Factory, I had a good feeling from first impression. I showed him my ideas and when he got excited about it, it solidified my choice. I wanted my artist to be just as excited about my piece as I was. Words cannot express how pleased I am with the way my cover up tattoo came out. I came into PTF with an idea of what I wanted to cover my tattoo I had gotten 15 years ago. I was welcomed with the utmost Aloha by Bruddah Will and Keoni. I explained to Will what I wanted, provided a picture and asked if he would design something close.  He was confident he could and for an amazing price!  To my surprise, he was able to fit me into his busy schedule a couple of days later! They were not only able to fit me into their busy schedule, but they created a one-of-a-kind Polynesian themed tattoo specific to me and my journey. There are different styles, and I recommend researching tattoo artists before decided, but my piece was rather large (6 hours) and I got clean lines, little shading to make all the little details more clear. My hub and I were both "first timers". We were NOT disappointed. Will did ours and made the entire experience enjoyable and memorable. We got EXACTLY what we wanted! Even tho this is a shop that specializes in Polynesian/Tribal themes, we wanted something completely different and Will didn't mind one bit. He answered all of our questions and even provided some very useful and interesting info about Hawaii that we could only have gotten from a (very patient) native. This whole shop and all the artists within it are amazing. Very clean, professional and conveniently located within Haleiwa. Donovan especially is a true master at what he does. He tattooed an absolutely beautiful Polynesian style wave on my ankle (right around the bone) and made the process efficient, precise and almost pain free! My husband & I found Donovan at Polynesian Tattoo through a local's recommendation. He was awesome....approachable, easy-going, professional.  After only 5 minutes of talking to him, I knew he understood exactly what I wanted. My plumerias came out gorgeous and perfectly "organic" (his word...and perfect adjective). We were in the shop for 6 hours bc my husband got a pretty intricate Polynesian style tattoo, and everyone was awesome...even with my kids, who had to sit there with us the whole time. They never made us feel uncomfortable because we weren't locals and it was the coolest tattoo experience. If you are looking for a tattoo shop...you've found it.
