Overall a decent experience. We made an appointment because there was 3 of us wanting to get tattoos. It was for my oldest sons 18th birthday. We arrived at our appointment time (2:30pm), the artist, Nathan did his thing on the computer with the artwork we wanted. The artwork is great on all of ours HOWEVER, I have one complaint.... our appointment was at 2:30 and the first person didn't start getting tattooed until around 6pm, we were there for 10.5 hours....which was totally unnecessary, especially for the pieces we all got...none of them were huge or elaborate. I've received one small tattoo from Nic and six piercings from Matt.I've had mixed experiences with the team. Matt has always been kind and courteous, but I don't think he's really being trained properly as an apprentice. Nic and Matt have both given me pretty bad advice regarding my piercings, and when I came in asking for help, Nic brushed off my concerns.Twice I was advised that I could change out my cartilage jewelry much sooner than I actually should have (within two months of a fresh piercing!), leading to terrible pain, prolonged healing times, and piercing bumps/scarring.Regarding some painfully irritated piercings, I asked Nic to take a look at them, and he briefly glanced at them and said they didn't look too bad. I was told to "just spray them with hot water in the shower for a few minutes, don't lay on them, and keep using sea salt solution, and they'll be gone in a few days." After a few months of no results, I changed tattoo shops because I didn't trust Straight Edge anymore. The new piercer told me I was on the verge of getting an infection because the jewelry wasn't properly sized and was seriously constricting the piercings. In addition, it had been put on so tightly that it took forever to undo so that we could put in the correct size jewelry.Overall, I feel like they mean well. After all, I wouldn't have gone back so many times if I didn't trust them at first. But I just got too much misinformation, and unfortunately, I didn't feel that Nic actually cared to help. Matt pierced my daughter’s ears and he was AWESOME. She was nervous and he did a great job reassuring her and letting her know exactly what was going to happen. He was meticulous in placing the marks and made sure we were happy with the placement before he did the piercing. My daughter said it didn’t hurt like she thought it would, and she’s very happy to finally have her ears pierced. We will defiantly return for any future piercings. Read Less

Went here for a piercing from Matt Dombrowski and couldn't have had a better experience. He clearly takes pride in his work and wants to make the process go as smoothly and painlessly as possible. This time I had Nic (owner) who did an awesome job and managed to squeeze me in within 24 hours, I've previously had both of my arms done by Nathan (writing on the inside of both done the same night). My girlfriends and I had our belly buttons pierced yesterday! I am from out of town and we decided to do something fun all together. I've walked into many shops. I can't remember a place more locked on then this group of artists. It's been so amazing see this shop grow from two years ago. I got my cartilage pierced about four and a half months ago here, and I was nervous because I am prone to infection and all my other piercings got very infected after they were done. My cartilage was my first piercing done at straightedge, and it never got infected. Everything was very sanitary and professional. I got a tattoo here yesterday. It was my first and I was fairly nervous. However as soon as we started I felt at ease because the tattoo artist, Luke, was so nice and funny. Amazing shop!  I was researching local places to take my 10 year old daughter to get her ears pierced for her birthday. I didn't want to take her to the mall, I wanted to find a professional to do her piercings.  I reached out to Straight Edge and Nic was very quick to respond.  I took her in the same day and all the guys in the shop were very friendly. Nic did her piercings and he was great with her. I went to this shop for a Friday the thirteenth tattoo and I was shocked at how poorly managed it was. After waiting four hours there was still three people ahead of me on the list. and at 10:45 pm they where still putting people on the list. Come to find out they had pulled the wrong sheet of names and weren't pulling people in order, on top of that they where showing preferential treatment to their friends and letting them ahead of others who had been waiting. Also the staff was nice and all but where goofing off the whole time sitting outside smoking and not helping the situation. The artist where in the back chatting it up not worried at all. There was even an infant there at the shop! I left with out getting my tattoo, disappointed. I would not recommend this shop. Read Less
