All the artists and management staff are kind and helpful. They treat you like family. Just don't be rude, and they'll get you squared away. Management was courteous and very helpful. Artist I had did some work on my friend as well. Gave the artist plenty of ideas and guidance to go off for an original and interesting design but he ended up basically just tracing the image right out of a picture. The only reason I ended up getting the tattoo after being mostly underwhelmed with the design was it was my first tattoo and I was nervous. If I had to do it again I would have went somewhere else so that part is my fault. It's still a quality tattoo however and there is no doubt he is a good artist. Went back months later for another tattoo and briefly met with him to discuss the new idea, he cut me off immediately and just said "I don't do those" and pretty much invited me to leave. I got it artist have styles they focus on and ones they don't do but he didn't even entertain the idea and I didn't feel very respected as a returning customer or even a regular person for that matter when I left. I ended up just going next door and was able to get an amazing tattoo the same day.. My friend's first tattoo turned out great he went back for an additional tattoo of a wolf running across his chest. Same artist. Go see Pat Crump! His work was quick, careful, and absolutely beautiful! This was my first tattoo, but he was able to make me feel comfortable & even for a few laughs out of me. I've gotten many tattoos in my day and I'd have to say that The Butcher is absolutely the best so far, walked in there with my girlfriend wanting some Rick and Morty tattoos without an appointment. They set us up immediately got the stencils made and completed our tattoos within two hours. They look absolutely amazing and the service was incredible. Very cool shop located close to River Street. Super accommodating to me and my 2 girlfriends, especially since we did not have an appointment. Very clean and staff was very welcoming. I have some tattoos of questionable quality that I got when I was younger. I wanted to have a tattoo that didn't cover them up, but that brought your attention away from them. I heard from two acquaintances that The Butcher was the place to go, and Kimberly Reed was the one to see because of the style of tattoo I wanted. Later, I found that yet another person I knew also got their tattoo from Kim. All of the people that reffered me her way had gorgeous tattoos, so that's why I went with The Butcher. I was nervous at first because I honestly hate dealing with tattoo studios. They all act too cool for me, if not just outright bored. This was not the case at all with The Butcher. Brandon, who helped me via email, then over the phone and in person was super friendly and helpful. I came for one art consultation and two sessions to finish my tattoo. Every single time everyone said hello and were just plain nice, down to earth people. Kim is phenomenal. She's had 20+ years as an artist and is a master. She has a very painted style, and when she's done it looks like something you could hang on your wall. The colors are lush, and the bird looks like it could fly off of my arm at any moment. It's that real. She was wonderful to work with. She made sure the art flowed with my old tattoos and looked balanced on my arm. Her attention to detail is unwavering. After moving to Savannah, I needed to find a new tattoo artist. I did as much research as possible, to find a person with great line work, and consistent tattoos.  I wanted to find someone versatile in many different styles of tattooing, because I have tons of different tattoos that I want, and didn't want to have to keep looking for different artist. I came across The Butcher and fell in love with Kelly Border's work. She was exactly what I was looking for. I set an appointment with her, to have her fix up an existing tattoo, and to see if she was someone I wanted to do a lot more work on me.  Kelly didn't disappoint. She rocked. As soon as she was done, I said "okay, lets talk about my sleeve...."Kelly has been working on my sleeve for a few months now, and she's fantastic.  I get compliments on my tattoos done by her, everywhere I go. Seriously. At least 4 times a week, if not more, someone tells me how much they love them. Kelly is easy to work with, and she's so much fun.  She easily interprets my ideas and has been making a beautiful masterpiece for me.... which is no easy feat with the list of things I asked her to tattoo. :)  Everyone in the shop is fantastic to be honest. My whole experience was great. Everyone I talked to was super welcoming and readily happy to help, even over the phone. It's a very clean welcoming place and the gallery is pretty cool. Pat Crump did my tattoo and he was awesome. He was so easy to work with on designing my tattoo and he's amazingly patient. The design is exactly how I wanted it to look. He did great! I almost gave this shop 4 stars out of 5 because nobody ever reads the 5 star reviews...and I want people to learn from my experience...kelly tattooed my entire chest last night in about 2 hours...she works quickly and with surgical precision...her tattoo hand has the style and grace of a seasoned ballerina and the accuracy of tom Brady before he had to deflate footballs to gain an edge...I like everything about the shop, from their musical selection, to their Netflix choices.cheers kelly and cory for a most pleasant experience. Pat is the bomb. Just had him do a barber pole and some flowers next to it. Dude is an amazing artist. He did a marvelous job and made the tattoo super colorful. The consultation in the beginning was very thorough. He asked what colors I liked and what colors I didn't. What characteristics I like most and if there are any about the design I didn't.
