Went to Magic Dragon to get my nose pierced a couple days ago. The place has a nice ambiance and the people seemed really down to earth but professional at the same time. A dainty lil flower did my piercing and she seemed really knowledgeable and was very thorough in explaining how I should care for it over the next few weeks. I thought the price was very reasonable. I am extremely disappointed with the overall service from this location. They are rude and unprofessional. I've been here two times and on my last visit I had a nose piercing done. I'm allergic to most metal jewelry except surgical steel, titanium, and white gold. I expressed that my my piercer and was assured that the ring was surgical steel. It was not. My piercing is now infected and there's large red bump around the ring that started to close over the ring. Inksomnia is working with me now to heal it and I now have the correct jewlery in . My husband and myself are regular customers at this shop. The staff are incredibly helpful and professional! Between the two of us, we've gotten close to 20 tattoos from the guys there. I've been in there by myself and never one time felt awkward or uncomfortable. We were there last nite and had the pleasure of meeting a new artist, Robert Rivera. This man has amazing talent! Very gifted tattoo artist with an incredible attention to detail! Stephen is another talented artist that's done multiple tattoos for us...extremely professional! Back when I was in school, Magick Dragon was always the place to get amazing tattoos in the area. I'm sure I have friends who've had work done here but I've never talked to anyone about it. I stopped by last week and got a quote on a piece I wanted done. I talked with Adam about it a little bit. Rhiannon ended up being the artist who could best do the work I was looking for. She's amazing! She listened to what I was looking for, sketched up exactly what I was looking for and was awesome to talk to during the work. Everyone up there seemed friendly and willing to do all they could to make sure the customer was as well informed as they could be. My experience was awful today. I've heard SO many great things, I've been there before and they were so nice. I went in today and this one dude didn't introduce himself, was rude and unhappy that I had something I wanted in a different language, unhappy I wanted a specific handwriting, and would not stop huffing like a fucking baby and rolling his eyes. Worst most uncomfortable tattoo experience of my life. They ladies there are amazing, and I have so many people who can vouch for that. But avoid the ginger dude if you can. My friends and I were in the Magick Dragon for no more than five minutes and it was the most uncomfortable experience. The workers, specifically a female working the counter and a male artist, made us feel so unwelcome and idiotic for asking for a simple rose tattoo. The girl was nearly rolling her eyes and as I explained what I wanted done with the rose the male artist offered no input. He didn't offer to do a sketch for me or anything. My friend was saying she wanted to get her belly button pierced and again nothing was offered. Her questions were being answered vaguely at best. I walked away and said, "Lets just go," obviously showing my discomfort. The workers simply laughed. Unless I desire to feel stupid or uncomfortable, I will never step foot into this place again and make sure none of my friends do either. Read Less

I've seen your work it's awesome and I've heard great things however, I guess Saturday night you were having a bad night because one of your artists were kinda rude to me while I was trying to get a quote. I get it's Saturday night and you're booked. Then tell me you can't quote my tattoo and leave it at that. Don't make me feel unwelcome. You made me feel as if I was burdening you would answer my questions with short answers and little to no eye contact. You made me feel stu...pid for not being able to describe a size the way you think I should. As much as I've heard good about you I was highly disappointed. My friend who has seen you guys regularly even said that y'all were rude and it wasn't your norm. If you're that busy tell me no. Don't talk to me In the middle of sketching your stencil. Went to get a tattoo with my friend, we came in around 10:30 pm and the staff was very nice and our tattoos turned out great even though we came in an hour and a half before they closed. I went to Magick Dragon the other day expecting to get one of the ladies. Both of them specialize in the work I needed to get done. When I got there, I found out neither of them would be there until later that afternoon. Steven was curious to what I would like done. I explained it to him, and I didn't have time to wait until the afternoon. He drew up a stencil, it looked great. He did such a great job with my tattoo! The lines are sick, the shading is excellent! My first time getting a tattoo. Dylan was great. It was easy, Dylan explained everything perfectly, he did a great job. The place was pretty clean and everybody was helpful. Dylan made sure his room was sanitized and clean before we started. I felt very comfortable and I am conservative and cautious. I chose a simple ring tattoo and it turned out perfectly. I am completely shocked that someone has yet to review this place. I don't know about now, but back say...6-7 years ago this was the place to hang out in Gainesville...after you circled the "strip" about 20 bazillion times. This was my first piercing experience & I assume that because of that very reason (& only that reason) will this place hold a special place in my heart. I've been here on numerous occasions with friends, watching them get their new "Ink" & it all comes out "decent", but my personal experience with the piercers leaves me in pain & with one less piercing. Not really sure that its the most sanitary of places or that they know exactly what they were doing, but within weeks of getting my belly button pierced it had to be taken out & treated by a Dr. regardless of my rigorous cleaning routine. : -( Read Less
