I was a walk-in and was treated right away. I shared my idea for a design and it was made beautifully and then we got to work. When I was about 95% done with the tattoo, my glucose levels plummeted and they stopped, got me water and sugar, and waited patiently and kindly until I felt 100% again. The client's health and safety is their main concern. It was very clean and nice in the shop and the equipment was all new per person. My first tattoo was done at Kingdom Tattoo by Kurt Fagerland earlier this year. He was extremely easy and enjoyable to work with. After looking through his online portfolio and finding a piece with elements similar to what I was looking for, I emailed him with a basic description and desired placement (also warning him this was my first tattoo). He responded quickly saying it sounded right up his alley and that I should stop by to chat about it. I came into the shop which is pretty easy to find and had good parking. I was nervous going to an appointment alone but everyone made me feel comfortable and excited. After a quick chat about details I booked an appointment for a month later but Kurt told me they could likely fit me in that Saturday if I called ahead of time, which they did! The tattoo I had used as a reference from his portfolio was mainly free handed so he told me he'd prefer to do the same for me and I agreed. The day of I arrived with 3 photos of the mountains I wanted him to put in a range and he added some tree, river, and waterfall detailing. I know many people want to see a stencil of their tattoo beforehand but Kurt made me feel so comfortable in his abilities and I really trusted him as an artist. I'm glad I did because thanks to him the tattoo I had been dreaming about for 5 years turned out even better than I imagined. For a first tattoo, something ~3x4" on your ribs with the majority being shading I anticipated a good deal of pain, and while it did hurt I only needed one break which I think speaks to Kurt's skill. He also finished the entire piece in about an hour and listened to me babble on as a distraction. I couldn't believe the quality of work for the price. It was affordable and a true work of art. I had a piece done by Kurt Fagerland about 6 years ago, and decided to have it refreshed and reworked. Kurt was very receptive to my ideas and what I wanted from the finished piece, and delivered flawlessly. Not only is my tattoo absolutely gorgeous; the whole experience was fantastic. Kurt and I had a great conversation that kept my mind off how much getting my foot tattooed hurt, and he stayed well past the shop's closing time to make sure it was exactly how I wanted. Since he finished up in the late evening, he offered to give me a ride to the nearest MARTA station so that I wouldn't have to walk through town in the dark. Although my ride home did show up, I really appreciated this, as it shows genuine concern for clients. Kurt's work speaks for itself, so I'm afraid anything I could say would pale in comparison to a quick visit to his site, but Kingdom as a whole is just a really chill atmosphere with excellent artists. Kurt in particular is really patient in putting art together and walking those without a lot of experience getting tattoos through the whole process. I want to start off to say when I first went into the shop I was greeted with a warm welcome. The tattoo artist was very upbeat and knowledgeable. I paid my deposit and sat up my day to come back. I got a tattoo from David a couple years ago, when he was at a shop in Gainesville.  I walked in yesterday to see if he had time (he usually has to book a couple weeks in advance) and he worked me in to create my celebratory tattoo for finishing Paramedic school.I walked in with an idea (the Star of Life with "something cool, maybe some geometry") and he came up with an incredible design.He charges a fair rate ($150/hour for custom work is not bad) and does fantastic work.  I had the back of my right calf done, which is pretty rough, and he had just the right balance of work and break time so I could rest.  The lines are straight, the dots are precise, and the shading is perfect.The shop was *spotless* clean.  Lots of awesome flash on the walls by all of the artists.Highly recommend. Kurt Fagerland is like the best tattoo artist of ALL TIME! Love, love, love the atmosphere of this shop. It gives off a super clean vibe, the music kicks it, and the artists are among some of the most creative I've ever met! Ryan, owner of Kingdom Tattoo, is one of *the* best tattooist in Atlanta and is my husband's and my personal favorite. We first met him at Timeless Tattoo and he did a custom shoulder piece for my husband - we were a walk-in and he spent about five hours designing and tattooing my hubby. He went beyond our expectation in both creativity and time spent (compared to other people at another shop my husband had gone to before). I decided I was ready for a tattoo earlier this year and we wanted Ryan to be the artist. We found out he opened his own shop in Decatur and made an appointment. His shop is clean, colorful, and super friendly. I came in with google pics, some jewelry that showed my style, and a basic description of what I wanted. He took everything into account and now I have a gorgeous custom tattoo. We've been back twice more, once for his Flash Party where we met some awesome tattoo enthusiasts while his new partner and apprentice banged out tats for eight hours - followed by drinks, a great band, and a fun party. My husband has gotten more ink from Ryan and is now working on his sleeve. The short version is that this a clean comfortable shop with a great staff.The long version is: While we were visiting ATL decided to check out the local tattoo shops on line. I looked at a lot of tattoos and that's when I saw Kingdom Tattoo. The owner, Ray Weaver, had some amazing artwork, so we decided to stop by and take a look at the shop. This is where we met a wonderful artist named Austin.  We arrived and were greeted by Austin who invited us to look around and as we did we found his album of work. We immediately loved his work and decided to talk with him and possibly have some work done. I knew exactly what I wanted, a star wars empire emblem, when I saw that he also had many star wars tattoos I knew he was the right person to do my emblem. My girlfriend knew, somewhat, what she wanted and asked if he could do a trinity with a sunburst. He drew a quick picture and she liked it and decided to have it done We made appointments for the next day. We came in to get our tattoos and Sunni had some concerns so we asked if he could show us exactly what his vision was of the piece. He sat down drew the trinity added a couple of lines and some shading then colored in the background and it was perfect. It seemed that he could see exactly what she was envisioning just by asking a very few questions he was able to draw out and change the pattern as he talked with her until it was just right. Austin was able to see what we wanted done and translate that to our skin with just as much perfection. As we sat for our tattoos he was able to carry on conversation with us and knew exactly what to say and when to say it so that we had a GREAT experience in the chair. We fully intend on returning in the near future to have more work done. We would trust any one of the great artists in that shop to tattoo us. They are all very personable, great artists and they care about the customer and the work they do. So if you happen to be in the area look up Kingdom Tattoos the guys there all do unbelievable work.
