Walked in last night with a few friends to check out some tattoos and possibly setting up an appointment to get one. Couldn't really find anything in particular I wanted in their portfolios so we shared some ideas with the artists with detailed pictures and they said they would be open at 11 on Saturday and gave us our prices. Seemed they were more concerned getting high. The place smelled like they had been smoking pot for the last hour. Showed up today at 11 and it's like we had never been there before. They weren't really sure what we wanted and when they stenciled out the artwork that we provided last night it was way too big and the price inflated drastically. For instance I showed them a piece I wanted and also I wanted an older one touched up in some areas and the price had risen a $100 in the matter of 12ish hours. I told them I didn't want the piece that large but I was told that it couldn't get smaller and that I had the arm for it. I still said no but asked if I could get the touch up on the old tattoo. The artist kinda cocked an attitude and said yea that'll be $80. I reluctantly paid the $80 and was still disappointed because he didn't even want to touch up everything I wanted and complained the whole time huffing and puffing. Offered no conversation in the 3 minute touch up other than did we do this tattoo. I understand everyone has an off day but the professionalism did not show or reflect what the current reviews are of this place and all of my friends had referred me to here and after this story everyone is deeply disappointed. I will not go back to this place. I am not going to recommend this shop but maybe the artist had personal issues going on I don't know so I'm doing my best not to hold that against them but I felt this should be publicly let known to the shop owners at the way a customer was treated. Donie did my newest tattoo yesterday & all my other tattoos. He is the best & I wouldn't trust anyone else to do them. Ship is always clean & staff is super nice. Great all around experience. I wish my experience was as positive as everyone else's. Not being from this area I researched tattoo places online and chose Iron Rose because of the great reviews. My husband and I came in and was introduced to Mark to do the tattoo I wanted to have done. Mark smelled of beer, seemed uninterested and was too busy on his phone to really listen to what I wanted and dismissed some of my ideas without putting much thought into it. We requested to see sketches before I agree...d to the tattoo since I'm unfamiliar with Mark's work, made an appointment and put down a $60 deposit. When we came back for my appointment several days later Mark didn't have any sketches to show us. We left, didn't return and was out the $60 deposit. I ended up waiting to get my tattoo done in my home town by my usual artist when I was home at Christmas time and I absolutely love it. I'm glad I waited and got it done somewhere else.
