I've been going to Steven's shop for nearly 7 years now and every single tattoo I have was done by him. He is one of the greatest guys you could ever meet,   Very professional and laid back at the same time. Everywhere I go my tattoos get compliments.. Steven also did my nose piercing too, healed up just right and I still have it 3 years later. Don't let the reviews make you miss a great opportunity, people need to realize that this is a very well known tattoo shop, recognized by its talented artist, you can't expect to walk in and demand services in the middle of a session, Call ahead of time. Excellent shop, everyone is so friendly. I got my monroe piercing there today & I was nervous but the piercer is so kind & easy going that I felt way better! And it barely hurt &looks great. Did five members of my family today, each one of us getting our version of a MSA awareness ribbon to support my mom who has the disease and got her first tat today at age 64. The artist and owner Steven is a 10 out of 10 at what he does... majorly awesome talent and work he brings to the table and great person to deal with. He and his staff were thorough, above and beyond professional and attentive. Very patient, and accommodating considering we are a lot to take in as a group to say the least. But they were so good with my mom that she is now hooked... ready to get her next NOW... thank you guys for a very enjoyable experience and making a group of loud opinionated aggressive diverse but loving family feel so welcome and comfortable. oh yeah, besides how great these people are... cleanest shop I've ever been in and very much attention is given to insure that everything from the work station to all equipment is way above standards for sterile and clean. I know that you shouldn't expect a tattoo artist to be happy-go-lucky but the customer service here is horrible. I discovered this place on an app I downloaded and decided to check it out since it was close to my home.  I walk in on a Saturday afternoon to get some pricing on a cover up.  I spoke to Steven and asked him about some things that I saw on the website. I assumed he was the owner since his artwork and pic was first and also on a business flyer. Anyway, he didn't know what I was talking about. Awkward moment but you don't know what's on your website? Ok. I told him about the 2 ideas that I had - hibiscus or a peacock feather. He said that he does a lot of flowers so it wouldn't be a problem.  I opted for the peacock feather and showed him a pic of the feather that I pinned on Pinterest.  He said that it could work and asked that I send him the pic. I did. We talked about pricing and I was cool with his quote. I asked him if he was available on Sunday. He said that he was and that they require a deposit. No problem. I scheduled it for 1pm and he asked that I come back later that evening to take measurements of my tattoo so that he could create the right size for my artwork. I couldn't make it because I had to do makeup for a shoot and the shoot lasted longer than I expected. I called late and apologized for not being able to make it and confirmed my appointment for Sunday. He said that he wasn't available at 1pm but he could do it at 11am or I could go to another artist. Ummm...okaaaay. I asked him for the other artist's info and looked him up. I liked his work so I told myself that I would go with the younger artist, Ramiro. By the time I was getting ready to call back I realized the time and figured they were closed. So I waited until Sunday around 2pm to get there and get my tattoo. I walk in and he acted like he didn't know me or what I was talking about. Ok. So I proceed to explain to him that I was JUST there yesterday. That shop was NOT busy on Saturday and it damn sure wasn't busy when I walked in. The 3 of them were watching something on the computer. Please. Yall aint busy, stop tryna act. So he goes "well you didn't call me back so we didn't create the artwork for you." Pause. How many times have people just walked into a tattoo shop and get a tattoo??? Seriously. And yall aint even busy! I guess he saw the expression on my face and said that the younger artist could still do it. Then he proceeds to say that he found a pic of "the rest" of the feather and that the price would be more. Excuse me? We had this convo yesterday. We both agreed that the pic was cut off and that I wanted the tail of the feather to curve. I guess it was because of the way the pic was uploaded to Pinterest. Well no shit, Sherlock. Why on Earth would I want a peacock feather that looks like it was cut off right in the middle of the tail end? So Ramiro steps in with his conniving ass and says to Steve "how much did you say it was? $200, $250..."  Then turns to me and says that it would be extra money because of the extension of the feather. I asked how much. He said $100. Are you friggin' kidding me?!! $100 for the prickly part of a peacock feather. GTFOH! I questioned his pricing and he said that although it wasn't a lot of detail, I had to keep in mind that it was a cover-up. I get that, but I'm not paying $300 for a cover-up and the feather wasn't even that detailed like that. Don't try to swindle me buddy. I didn't like the way this was going so I just asked for my deposit back. I don't have time for that mess. I had the feeling that they just didn't want to do my tattoo. Besides, Steve told me that he would only be there at 11am, so wtf are YOU doing here. I wasn't expecting to see him. Anyway, I got my deposit. Child please. I'll find someone else to do my cover-up. I wanted a portrait of my grandfather and I wanted it to be perfect. All I can say is wow. Josh did my tat and not only was he was very light handed but my tat is amazing!!!!!! I have quite a few pieces and I have gotten work form alot of artist but I will only go to Josh at Soloarte from here on out! Read Less
