My boyfriend and I came for their special Friday the 13th deal: $25 (plus tip) for a smallish/moderate sized design off a few pages of flash.  $25 is a crazy deal, as most shops have an at least $50 minimum nowadays.  There were a lot of designs to choose from.We ended up having to wait a long time to get tattooed, but the shop is really nice and clean inside.  The counter girl was friendly and accommodating, which was really nice, since it seems like most shops are intimidating and unfriendly on first approach.  They even had a ton of drinks and ordered pizza for everyone that was waiting which was pretty rad of them.  My boyfriend and I each had different artists, but both of our tattoos turned out really well.  Neither one of us has had much scabbing at all, which I think is a huge deal...I've had some heavy handed artists that gave me some bad ones.  They obviously specialize in American traditional here, but I would trust these guys to do anything well.  Well worth it! I contacted Rob about fixing a tattoo I got years ago. The end result was a completely different looking piece that came out great. I was so pleased with the tattoo restoration he did I contacted him about another piece I wanted done. When I talked to him at the shop I briefly described what I wanted and left for a little bit to get coffee. When I came back he had drawn up exactly what I imagined I wanted in my head and it looked amazing. The piece came out beautiful with a lot of vibrant color and detail. I got a cover up back in Aug and just get it touched up. Rob, the owner, did an amazing job! You can't see the old tattoo at all. He has a tight schedule so getting an appointment takes time but he is punctual and gets it done in good time but doesn't rush. Went to get a couple piercings in my ear, Darla was great! I was a little nervous since I hadn't gotten a piercing since my ears when I was a baby, but she made me feel very comfortable. You have got to go see Darla!!! She is by far the best and she's my 13 yr old son's favorite piercer in the world!!! He started getting piercings at the age of 10 or 11 and we met Darla when she worked at a different tattoo shop in Lawrenceville. She was the only person he would allow to touch him and eventhough he wanted his piercings, he would always get scared at the last minute and panic. Full blown panic attack and somehow she always calmed him down and eased his anxiety. She left our area and he was heartbroken, REFUSED to get anymore piercings EVER lol. He ended up getting one more piercing after but it took a lot of patience from the poor girl that he encountered bc all he wanted was Darla lol. U will not be disappointed with I swear. I'm so happy with my tattoo. Rob Flat did an amazing job -- he is a truly talented artist. He brought my tattoo vision to life, and it only took him a few minutes to come up with a beautiful design. I described to him what I wanted and showed him one picture for an example, and from there he created something very special and perfect for me. I get piercings on a regular basis. I specifically said that I wanted a side helix piercing. He made the mark to look like a third regular hole. I asked if it would be moved higher, and he said yes. When he actually did the piercing, it was terrible. He is super slow and pierces from the back. I could feel the needle going through every part of my skin and it hurt the worst. He tried to blame it on how high it was on my cartilage; however, I had gotten three cartilage piercings in one day on the other ear at my home shop and it did not hurt like that did. I was super unhappy. I did not say anything in the shop since my friend was going after me for her first piercing. That same night, I went to my tattoo shop, and he did it for free since I go to them all the time. THAT is true customer service. He also pointed out to me that the piercing I got from Tried and True was angled which is not okay. He explained that was because he pierced from behind and at an awkward angle..... I then go back to Tried and True to pick my ID the following week and explain the situation to them. The guy there then tried to blame me for not saying anything that day I was in the shop. He also said they do not do refunds, but I told him I was willing to pay the cover cost for the materials used such as the needle and the cork but he was completely rude. I wasted $50 for a terrible service that I took out the same night. Thank you for wasting my money Tried and True.  I will never be going back there because they suck at what they do, and when you point out that it was not quality work they will blame you for their lack of skills. Very new and clean shop. It was the cleanest tattoo shop I've ever been too and by far the most beautiful artwork . Not you average looking tattoo shop. More like a little hipster art gallery. Walked in Sunday 5/4 for one of their Star Wars Day tats after seeing some of the designs online. Waited about 45 min or so for my turn (both Colby and Heidi were hard at work on other clients). When it was my turn, Colby and I quickly talked over the design I wanted, where he kindly agreed to make a small change to the predrawn one. Price was discussed and agreed to, 20 min later he was done sketching and about an hour after that it was done.
