I go to Thunderbolt for piercing services. The piercer Chad is one of the top best. Always professional, polite, and most of all attentive. He always has a great attitude. Extremely knowledgeable about his craft/skills. He knows the world of piercing hands down-from the jewelry to the anatomy of the body (where to place the piercing, how to take care of the piercing based on where it's located, just everything). He shares his knowledge with his clients and always, always answers my questions-whether I come in to the shop or not. Super glad I found Thunderbolt. Lauren did an AMAZING job on my tattoo. She really took her time getting the design perfect, and the process never felt rushed. She took two and a half hours to do the actual tattoo and made sure I was comfortable (as much as one can be when basically getting tiny little cuts) the whole time. I was looking for a place to get my first tattoo and I stopped by Thunderbolt to talk about the  design and to feel the place out. There was only one artist there that day, and I was the only customer. He seemed confused and annoyed by my questions and was less than helpful. This was my first tattoo and I'm sorry if my concern was irritating to an old pro, but I was nervous and tattoos are permanent--I wanted it to be right. I wish I could give this place 10+ stars!!I first came to Thunderbolt Tattoo when they just recently opened. When I came in to make an appointment, I was welcomed straight away by two artists who were sketching at their tables...I was then welcomed by Joe and he took me into the back room... Joe asked me what I wanted and he listened and suggested a couple of things while he was drawing a rough sketch on my shoulder... when he showed me what he drew I was astonished that he drew exactly what I had wanted!! I made a deposit and booked the date to get it done...The first day of my tattoo.... walked in, was welcomed by everyone and sat down while Joe prepped... I was in the back a few mins later. I was very nervous because Its been a couple of years since my first tattoo..The nerves soon went away from Joe's calming personality... It took 2 sessions for my tattoo to be completed, It didn't even hurt that much, my tattoo did not even peel... It only took 5 days for it to completely heal!! I have received a crazy amount of compliments from my tattoo, from America, Korea, Philippines and Australia... everywhere, someone will give me a compliment.. It's not very often that I see a parlor this professional and friendly. Those that enter will be pleasantly surprised at how sterol and organized this small shop is. Its also mind boggling to find out that so few yelpers have reviewed this great place. So, it is in my best interest to review Thunderbolt in my typical most honest and detailed fashion.It was like any other day. I was next door at Wingnuts and was intrigued by this corner tattoo parlor. Waiting for my food to be prepared, I decided to drop by and have a look. I asked the gentleman behind the counter what artist would be most suitable for Japanese style tattooing. "Joe Vegas" was the reply.Quickly, I thought about all the reasons why his name was "Joe Vegas", yet never asked. I was going to leave that a mystery until my project was finished. Apparently, after all my research and stalking, Joe Vegas has had a long history of travels and ink experience, which is what I was hoping for since I'm a little worrisome about switching artists.Spending about a good thirty minutes with Joe, we came up with something more than beautiful for my half sleeve. I was more than pleased and gave the green light to start the outline two weeks later and the outline turned out better than I could have imagined. I came here because Josh left Sacred Heart and joined this shop. He is BRILLIANT!!! I am not familiar with other artists at the shop, but I can tell you that Josh is definitely the go-to person. Super friendly and engaging. You can tell he cares and loves what he does. I am a pretty annoying person... I look super close at the tattoo and want every little detail to be perfect. He didn't give me any ugly looks or long sighs. Instead, he asked me several times to check if I want more things fixed.
