Great tattoo shop. Creative artists who are really easy to work with. A repurposed old house, the studio has a great feel. The walls and ceilings are plastered with flash art (which is both decorative and a worthy testament to their talents) and you get your own "room" to be tattooed, which is a nice level of privacy. Went to Josh for my first and probably only tattoo. I had absolutely no idea what I was doing and he is exactly what you want - cool, calm, experienced and understanding. He nailed it. He'll talk to you while he's inking which I liked. Not to mention this place is like a compound and is extremely clean. My husband and I had both wanted to get tattoos for a long time, but just had never pulled the trigger. He finally decided this year he wanted to get a USMC Eagle Globe & Anchor for Fathers' Day. He was originally scheduled with one of the other artists, but when he went in, ended up with Jett, who worked with him to make sure the design was exactly what he wanted. I was so impressed with his tattoo, I also scheduled mine with Jett for my birthday, and what he did for mine blew. me. away. I brought in a few photos I pulled off the web for a general idea of what I wanted, and he worked up a sketch that looked good. Had he just stopped there, I would have been pretty happy with it, but once he was done with all the detail and shading, it was GORGEOUS.  This really exceeded my expectations, and I definitely recommend Jett, he does great work. This is an incredible place to get a tattoo. Professional, clean and super talented artists. Remember you get what you pay for. If you want a top quality tattoo with amazing photo-realism I would recommend Dustin Swinks. You have to plan ahead though as it takes time to get an appointment due to his high demand. Got a piece done by Dustin. He's amazing! And funny! It's nice to have an artist who puts you at ease so you don't think much about the occasional bit of pain. My rating for the place overall, 4/5 but my guy Jet deserves 5/5 for sure!The people up front are not unfriendly, just...surly. My husband and I went in together and it's his first tattoo. I had emailed and spoken with the shop all week before choosing them and I ultimately went with them due to the high reviews and they took walk ins.After waiting for my artist to finish the stencil I asked "who's doing my husbands tattoo?" and he shrugged and said "I dunno" with his head still down.A few minutes later I said "is the guy that's doing mine doing his too?" Silence.Ooookay. Once Jet came our everything was great, he was personable, polite, and calming which is what you need when getting a rib tattoo.Dave Tetter did my husband's tattoo and he was equally nice in a different way, very friendly and almost jovial! Fun to talk to.If you come I recommend coming knowing which artist you want (it should be Jet or Dave!)It's also very affordable, $75!Really just the surly guy up front with the attitude bugged me a lot but everyone else was delightful! It's kind of a funny thing, writing a Yelp review for a tattoo shop, but this place deserves it. I've worked with Malia now on two pieces: one a gorgeous original on the outside of my arm, and the other her repairing and rejuvenating a piece on the inside of the same arm. I've gone to quite a few different artists for work, and Malia is BY FAR the best. Not only is her work incredible (fantastic lines, awesome saturation, and gorgeous drawings), she's super nice and funny and tries to keep you distracted during the appointment. She's fast and you can tell she loves what she does.The shop staff is great too. Every time I've been in there they've been friendly and chill, and the atmosphere is really welcoming (unlike some other places, where as soon as you walk in the door they're blaring death metal and treat you like you're bothering them).Yes, they may have a long wait time, but this is something that's going to be on your body for the rest of your life! I did my research and found the general consensus to be that this is the place in Atlanta to be tattooed. I call before hand and was told that anytime would be a good time for a consultation. So I dropped by on my day off to look around. Everyone there was super friendly. I was greeted at the door and was directed to the portfolios to check out the different artist's work. I was completely impressed with the range of talent. I asked several questions and the manager, Leigh, pointed me in the direction of Gary Yoxen. He talked to me about my ideas and made an appointment to tattoo me the following week. The tattoo session went better than I could have expected. The owl I got is amazing and took way less time than I had anticipated. It's big and did take almost 3 hours. But it is beautiful and worth every second under the needle. Gary is great and his work impressed me very much. I have received tons of complements on my new ink. Even my grandmother loves it. This shop is the best of the best. Read Less
