I had and still am having my worst tattoo experience with anchor and iron social club. I followed one of their sponsored artist Dose Kinse on instagram (instgram name tattoos_by_12_15) and he posted a design that I was interested in so I contacted him set up the appointment and paid the deposit. I drive two hours to the shop from out of state and when I get there I was told that they only accept cash so I had to go find an ATM. ATM wouldn't allow me to withdraw the total amount so I had to send the remaining balance through Facebook. The artist starts and everything is going good but he kept stopping to adjust the needle and either turn up or turn down the machine. After about an hour or two of working my arm starts to bleed more than normal. This was my 14/15 tattoo so I'm used to there being blood but this was a bit more than normal. 2 hours turn into 4/5 hours and I'm bleeding more and more so he go gets a skin numbing cream and continues to work. Then comes hours 6 and 7 and he's still working but then takes a break to apply witch hazel for redness in my skin he says. After a bit more work he says he won't be able to finish and tells me to come back in a month. That was fine but two days after the first session the tattoo starts to scab heavily and my arm is still very sore so I contact him about it. He says the tattoo isn't healing correctly and looks bad so I'm like thanks for the vote of confidence on your work. Because the aftercare products he gave me wasn't working I switched back to washing it with ivory soap and applying aquaphor to it and saw it getting better two days after it. My skin began to heal and the soreness was siding BUT I notice that the part of the tattoo that was bleeding the most had lost all of its ink and my skin was pink in that part like I was burned. I contacted the artist again and send pictures and he asked what did I do to make the tattoo look like that and began asking me have I had it in the sun or have been sweating. Being that this was my 14/15 tattoo I knew better than that so of course I didn't have it in the sun. Fast forward a month tattoo is healed pink parts were still there so I sent more pics. He says give it two more weeks. Two weeks past I send more pictures and he says it heals and I can come back in to finish it. I scheduled with him to come back May 13th. On May 1st I contacted him to verify the date and he stated that he's on bad terms with the shop and is in the middle of leaving and finding a studio. At this point I feel like he's blowing me off so I say okay I'll contact you in a week to see what's up. The next day on instagram he posts that he only has 7 more spots left on his calendar to fill for tattoos. At that point I start looking for another artist. I contacted another artist in the same shop instagram name bandinwagoninatl and he seems interested to do it initially but I haven't heard back from him to schedule an appointment or make a deposit. So I then contact an artist at City of Ink and tells me he will not touch the tattoo because of the scarring that was left by the artist at anchor and iron and states the tattoo was poorly done.
If anyone is considering going to anchor and iron in Atlanta for any tattoo work think again and save yourself from the headache and go to City of Ink or Black Owl Tattoos.Read Less
