Let me start this off by saying i have tattoos and piercings from a couple of different places, so i have seen my fair share of tattoo/piercing shops. This place was clean and professional; however, i came to get my navel pierced and the piercer did it crooked. i told the piercer (Jeremy) after he marked the guide lines that it didn’t look right and he insisted that it was straight, going back and forth with me finally concluding that my belly button is crooked (what??). trus...ting his professional opinion, i allowed him to do the piercing- assuming that his experience outweighed my own and he knew what he was doing- only for it to come out crooked. it has been a year or so now and it is fully healed... crooked. my only option now is to keep a crooked piercing or wait for it to fully heal and pay to have it pierced again- which can be painful when it comes to piercing through scar tissue. EDIT: The staff has reached out to me looking to right the situation. Recently visited Inksomnia for the first time, even though I've lived in the general area my whole life. I was extremely impressed with the organic conversation and genuine interest in why I was there getting a tattoo. After Jason learned that the tattoo was lyrics from a very personal band to me, he was kind enough to throw it on the store speakers. We rocked out the entire time Brian was tattooing me! Horrible service. We waited for an hour and a half and we were not tattooed. Marissa the front attendant was HORRIBLE. She was supposed to make a font and never did and decided to eat Jimmy Johns instead. Brian was horrible and proceeded to tell us to get out after we expressed our concerns and frustrations. We saw people wait hours just to be told to come back at 4 o'clock and the service was just horrible. I would never come to this tattoo shop and if you do stay far away from Brian and Marissa. Brian also probably hates women, because I've never had a man talk to me in the manner that he spoke to my mom and I. Women, Moms, and Daughters stay FAR FAR FAR away. Also, minorities do not go there. Brian has very racist tendencies that are extremely alarming. We were the only people of color there and he decided to help a couple for almost an hour before helping us. HORRIBLE. UPDATE: Also, I left my wallet there after the incident and called and Marissa proceeded to LIE and try to STEAL my info. It took me coming up there for her to give me wallet. Well...I wanted to have a 'Great experience!' but walked away feeling disappointed and angry. I called earlier in the week to schedule a consultation and Marissa suggested that I stop in on Sunday. My tattoo was simple - a LINE through a name. My daughter wanted a tattoo in cursive 'radiate love & positivity' and I noticed the tattoo example she emailed to them had cursive loops. Since it was her first tattoo I explained that the loop in 'l' would just be a line and Marissa offered to create a few sample fonts. We scheduled our appointment and waited for almost 2 hours (45 minutes past the time we were scheduled) but it was all good. We weren't in a rush and she was excited. Well, when we finally went to the counter to review the work Marissa was supposed to provide we discovered that she never did the work. Really? She left to get food and I guess forgot about us... Brian, the tattoo artist that was supposed to work with us then become extremely annoyed, hostile and LOUD. I am a business owner and simply couldn't believe it. We had appointments and he was helping a guy that was confused about the style of rose he wanted and just went over the top. Look, we all have days, but berating customers just doesn't cut it. A friend highly recommended Inksomnia for me to get my piercings at. I went in 2015 to get my tragus done by Jeremy. He was very sweet and helped calm my nerves. He was very quick and I honestly never even felt it. In 2016, I went back and Jason did my 3rd lobe piercing. He was very kind and personable and even changed my tragus stud because the jewel had faded. I had incredible experiences with both men and highly recommend either of them! I called inksomnia to set up a tattoo consultation and was told over the phone that they do not make appointments for a consultation but that someone would be available to talk to me about a design and fit me in if I decided to go through with the tattoo. I drive 32 miles to inksomnia and was immediately turned away when I walked in and asked for a brief consultation. I told the man at the counter that I was willing to wait however long to see someone and he said it wasn't possible. The service was rude and unaccomodating. I went in to get a 1"x2" tattoo on my wrist. The artist who did mine drew the script out for me himself and did it on the same night. The tattoo turned out like I expected except for a few blurred and uneven spots which I am planning on going back in to get touched up. I've gone in there a few times, once for a small tattoo in an odd location- I was warned it may not last long and fully informed on how to best preserve it, given the quickly-wearing location. I also ran in for replacement jewelry and the prices were great, service was helpful, even threw in an extra backing to the jewelry when I dropped mine outside. Rip off! This establishment is very unprofessional,and they will try to rob you of a deposit sighting you are two minutes late for an appointment even though it is no fault of your own. Micheal the owner was very rude to my wife and I, and refused to give my wife back the deposit ,booking an appointment with someone else when he knew that we had booked a four hour appointment. Thank goodness we went somewhere else which had great Customer service and it was cheaper.. After we would not budge he slams the deposit back in our hands and say thanks for wasting our F**** TIME ,when all we wanted was to get our tattoe done as promised. After reading reviews I was convinced this was the place I wanted to take my business. From the time I walked in the front door I knew I made an accurate choice. Jason was the one who serviced me, Absolutely amazing. He did my dermal, which is new to me.. I have had 4 other piercing but none as such this. I let determine the best place on face since he is a professional. He was very kind and gentle. I will definitely return and recommend services.As far as cleanliness of the shop, despite renovations, the shop appeared to still be very clean and well put together. I think that Inksomnia needs to request a pshycial examination of their tattoo artists, because the artist that did my tattoo was about as steady as Michael J. Fox. Not only did he tattoo my script crooked, but it looks like he had a seizure in the process. I have had it touched up 4 times, and my next step is to get Laser Removal. Not only were they over priced to begin with, but thanks to what was originally a $200 tattoo, I have now spent over a thousand dollars in trying to fix their mistake!
