I've gotten three tattoos here and 5 piercings and I will absolutely continue to go to them for all my body modification needs. The staff are nice, incredibly funny, and the facility is clean. Mike did my cousin and my matching tattoos, I was in from out of town and wanted to ensure that we got a quality tattoo. It really looks great, pricier than my tattoo shop in Tennessee.  But, when you are putting something on your body forever, I think paying a little more is better than getting a cheap tattoo! ABOVE AND BEYOND MY EXPECTATIONS!! *NOTE: Look on Facebook for 100+ reviews!* I was referred by my uncle to Steel Quill Tattoo since he grew up with the owner, Tony. At first I was disappointed that I was unable to have Tony give me my tattoo since I was only able to come in this past Sunday. This tattoo that I got is to honor my uncle for being my best friend since age 12-13 years old. I actually came up with my tattoo idea on my own but needed it to be cleaned up to look more professional and make it more personalized to describe my uncle. I thought that there couldn't be anyone better than Tony to help me get this tattoo accomplished since he's known my uncle as young kids. I started to hold off on the tattoo and wait till another time to do it either by waiting for Tony or settle for someplace close to home. After giving thought, I told Tony if he will assist in cleaning up my design, I'd like to come in on Sunday to give his other tattoo artist, Stas, a try. Let me tell you, I DID NOT regret it! Tony cleaned up my design and also drew up another design idea for me to look at when I got there. Stas is totally AMAZING! This beautiful lady had nothing but patients with me the moment I walked in the door! She went above and beyond to make sure that every single detail I wanted on this tattoo is perfect in my opinion! I think we spent almost a full two hours going over and editing details on the drawing, the font, and the colors! Then after we got details squared away, she spent another approximately 2 hours tattooing me. At first I was tense because this is my second time getting a tattoo done but this is my first one with Steel Quill. About 10-15 minutes into Stas tattooing me, I found myself so much more relaxed with her versus when I got my last tattoo done a year ago by a different artist at a different location. Stas was very gentle, let me talk her ears off just so I could distract myself, and she never once stopped for a break but she did tell me before she started my tattoo that at anytime I feel I need a break to let her know. The quality of this tattoo is worth way more than what I was charged! Also, I didn't lose the details that meant the most to me from when I first drew my original design. All Stas did to my original was clean it up, even it out, and it stands out way more than I expected which has gone above and beyond my expectations (yes this is a good thing)!!! I have received tons of compliments on this tattoo and I've only had it for two days now. Even the healing process so far is going A LOT more smoothly than from when I had my last tattoo done a year ago. The MOST IMPORTANT thing of all is that my uncle loves it and said that I couldn't have described him any better with any other design!!! Stas, THANK YOU a million times for everything! Melissa is absolutely wonderful! I went in for a left daith piercing to relieve migraine headaches. I walked in with a headache and walked out without one. The entire staff their was super friendly and helpful! Melissa explained everything to me and made the whole process so easy and pretty pain free. It was the perfect end to my vacation. Tony was wonderful and honest. When the tattoo was not going to work on the original formation, he showed me and we changed the design. It included a piece that was done a few years ago. He refreshed that so it would all match.  The second tattoo was more organic and he helped me develop the initials. It was a great experience.  The actual work done was a series of initials and a series of kanji. November 2015: I came back to have Tony add two more tattoos. His honesty and insight helped again with placement, sizing, design, and coloring. This time he did a true work of art in a red poppy as well an infinity sign with a heart. Read Less

I came to this shop years ago for my first tattoo. I was young and stupid and did very little research. All I knew was that it was the closest shop to where I lived. I know, you're probably thinking, "That was years ago. Maybe it's changed..." The only reason I'm posting this is because the man who butchered my right hip is actually still working there. Unfortunately because of the number of years I don't remember his name but he was dark blond/light brown in hair color and usually sports some sort of side burn or mutton chop. Now I was young and stupid at the time but over the years of tattoos I've gotten from far better artists, I have learned that I was GROSSLY overcharged, the artist was heavy handed and his line work was atrocious, and his coloring was blotchy. When I had this horrendous tattoo corrected by an artist I trusted, he was incredibly angry at the terrible work. The longer he worked on it the angrier he got. He complained of how heavy handed the guy had gone and was astounded that he was allowed to be licensed. Read Less

I went here about a year ago and got a tattoo from one of the guys (can't even remember the name), but I will describe what he looked like so nobody will get tattooed by him. He was Caucasian, heavy set, long beard, Brown hair. I got a cat that was black on my wrist. It was the worst tattoo I have ever gotten (out of 10 of them). He was going so deep with the needle, I felt like I was going to pass out. When I left the shop and got home to clean my tattoo, it was already infected and completely crusted over with blood everywhere. You could see how far he went with the tattoo gun and now my tattoo looks completely horrible today. I would never go back here, even to get this fixed. Worst experience ever, especially since it is something I really liked and wanted and now looks like shot on my body.Edit: I found out the name of the artist ho tattooed me by going on my instagram and seeing the post of when I first got it.
