My daughter and I recently got our first tattoos at Chicago Tattoo Co.. It was a great experience! The shop is very clean and organized. Everyone made us feel comfortable and at ease. Tim spent a lot of time on a consult. He was undoubtedly detailed in doing so. Tim was so elaborate that he kept repeating the same information over and over about how a black (2inch) tattoo was going to take all this “‘miracle work” on black skin. He continued the declination of all suggestions and ideas presented and went on about how he inadequate he was on the results for african-Americans. This past week I got my first tattoo done at Chicago Tattoos. For my first experience getting a tattoo it was overall amazing. I was lucky enough to get to work with Fred. I went in for a consolation, gave him my ideas and a basic picture. He made the process comfortable and easy. I went in a week later to get the tattoo. Showed up for my appointment only to see low budget clip art on a tablet that looked like it was put together 10 min before I arrived. They used the exact pictures I submitted, zero original work! I had 3 tattoos before. 2 large ones and a small one. I am concerned about ink toxicity - but wanted more tattoos. Fred uses 'eternal ink' which is a superior ink but it's also a company that tries to reduce toxins commonly found in tattoo ink. So I was searching for a place that used an ink like Eternal or Fusion. I found Fred (owner). He uses Eternal ink. Then when I compared 'reviews'... Chicago Tattoo Co has more 5 star reviews than most or all other places. Plus, Fred is real cool & a pro. I highly recommend this shop and Fred. Fred is booked out months in advance. It took 4 weeks for my Thursday appointment. But for something that's permanent... I don't care if I have to wait 6 months for the best. Read Less

Just recently got my third tattoo. All of which were done at this shop, and i couldn't be happier with any of them; my first two were with freddie who no longer tats but does a good deed with piercings. My most recent, which was drawn up and tatted by Will did such a wonderful job capturing everything and more that i said i wanted in my tattoo. From the moment he picked up the phone he was extremely professional and easy to work with! Super patient, and created such a work of art on my arm! Freddie is amazing for piercings. Nicole did her research to get her ears re-pierced after two piercing failures over 5 years. You have to be 16 and need a form notarized with parent present. But Freddie took time a few days ahead of time to talk to us. I hope my review doesn't make this place unpopular to the 'cool kids,' but I heard they had a good reputation and I wasn't disappointed. We visited another shop and they pale in comparison of thoroughness and focus on quality of materials.  I recommend to anyone over 16, which is the only folks they will service. :) Read Less

AMAZING place to go for piercings!! After a bad experience in another shop, Freddie did my beautiful daith cartilage piercing. He made me comfortable and really showed interest in what I wanted and was concerned about.  He even called to let me know he accidentally over-charged me! Ive had piercings and just recently a tattoo done here and it is a fantasic place! I am super paranoid when it comes to body mods because i want to make sure i can trust the person doing it. Ill start with the piercings i had done back in december 2014. Freddie was so nice about everything! Informed me of what was going on wvery step of the process. The whole experience was very comfortable and the piercings look amazing (2 forward helix)!For my tattoo i went to see tim and he was the best! I had a tattoo done at another shop a few years ago and  that artist didnt talk for the entire 4 hours. Im kinda weird when it comes to pain. I need to joke around and laugh or i will get sick. With tim he actually talked and joked around with me and the friend i had with me which helped out a LOT. i dont want to admit but i dod almost pass out from the pain (foot tattoo). Tim made sure i was ok before we started again getting me a snack and a soda! To me that was above and beyond as my.previous experience i only got up and walked around for a min. His artistry is exceptional, I brought in 3 different images of what I wanted to be incorporated into my tattoo and he nailed it! Been here before for tattoos, always satisfied, but this review is for the piercing. Went in there to get help with a badly infected piercing (the piercing was done somewhere else and it was actually just a jacked up ring that messed it up, so that was my own fault) Their piercer was great, very professional, clean, good humored, communicated well, and really sympathetic. Did a really great job taking ii out. It was as painless as it could be, and if I would have done it it would have jacked it up even more. I found this shop after being referred by one of my good friends. It had been years since I have gotten a tattoo, and I didn't know if any personally here in Orlando. When I first walked in, the shop seemed to be cold and unwelcoming, but that really changed as soon as I started talking to the artists. I ended up going with Von, and I don't regret that decision. I was looking to get a clean minimalistic tattoo to pay homage to my life long following and pride which is Real Madrid CF. I am not going to lie, I did do some shopping around, but Chicago was by far the best looking shop, and it emitted a good vibe, a place where I did not feel intimidated or made me feel as an outsider. I was approached by Will, and he herd my ideas, gave me some pointer and sketched out a better rendering of my original design. As my face turned to amazed I asked him "when he would be able to do it?", and as I finished the sentence he stated "right now... Why wait?" So I agreed. I was amazed as Will, meticulously and with some level of obsessive compulsive disorder, prepped his work area for the job at hand. Very profesional.  Getting the Tattoo done was the easy part, and throughout the process I chatted up with some other members of the Chicago Tattoo Team such as Von, Rocky, and Fred. They made me feel welcome as they did to their other customer who where getting ink of there own. Overall I must say I was very satisfied with the atmosphere, the artwork and job of Will, and the whole experience i got at Chicago Tattoo Co. If you want a beautiful tattoo that heals well. THAN STAY FAR FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!!! The tattoo that I received from this place was by far the worst tattoo I've ever been given. For the first 2 weeks I had giant lesions that measured 1 centimeter thick, 2 millimeters deep and inches long, it looked as though someone used a scalpel on me. You should just let your dog gnaw on your arm for about an hour and just add ink, it will be the same effect. Read Less

I recently went in to check out this shop. CLEAN and FRIENDLY! I had a consultation with Fred for a rose shoulder piece, which I'm getting done in a couple weeks (too excited!) and Fred spent almost an hour with me just talking and explaining. He listened and gave amazing input. These guys have tons and tons of experience and know what they're talking about! They look out for you and your body, which is awesome. Sorry guys, I wanted to love you, Chicago pride in the South, but you killed me. You hooked my roommate up well with her piercings but I had a dermal done on my chest that was not set deep enough and it literally just fell out. Yeah spent an hour looking for it in class, ha. Anyways I called back to get it put back in (after I let it heal), still having the jewelry and ya'll said it couldn't be put back in the same spot and that it would be $65. You have a clean place and a fine staff but that is a little ridiculous.  I called my tattoo place back home and a few other places to ask if I can have it put in the same spot and they said no problem, so I am not sure where that came from.  I just went down the street and got it redone for $35, and they said they would redo it if it falls out for free. I had my first tattoo done here almost a year ago by Marten. A couple of friends recommended that I go here, and I am incredibly happy that I did! The shop is clean, the portfolios are organized along the walls, they have good music playing, and the jewelry is displayed neatly. I got a simple tattoo, and it was definitely uncomfortable (I got it on my ribs), but it passed by quickly. This place is fantastic. I did a lot of research prior to choosing them for my first tat. I even went to check out the shop my best friend gets her pieces done, and THANK GOD I didn't get mine done there. I stuck with my gut & drove the 2 hours to Chicago Tattoo Co after making a next day appointment by phone. Fred did mine, and let me tell you, I'll be going to him for all of my future tats as well. Not only was everyone in the shop nice & helpful as could be, but Fred also took the time before inking me to explain their sterilization process and whatnot. They were EXTREMELY fair with pricing and the shop was immaculate. It's been about 2 weeks since I got my tattoo done, and it has healed beautifully and looks wonderful. Chicago Tattoo Co in Winter Park, FL near Orlando is by far the cleanest and most professional tattoo shop that I have ever been too! The employees are super friendly and always try to keep the customers happy. I got pierced by Freddie and he did a great job.
