This tattoo shop is amazing, I'll definitely go back! They made me feel very comfortable. Nickolas (my tattoo artist) helped me design a sternum cover-up. We went over each component of the tattoo, discussed pros and cons of different designs. It was easy to see he knew the principles of art (shading, angles, outline) and the principles of tattooing (saturation, design, good ink, machine, and needle preferences) very well! Came in with a question about a piercing from another shop I had recently gotten and was showing signs of infection, and it saved my ear! I spoke to Spyro, who was so knowledgeable and so helpful, he even made me a custom piece of jewelry to fit my ear! Before going on vacation to Florida I did some research ...reading reviews and looking for a good location. Apprehensively, I made an appointment with Jeff still unsure about where I should put my tattoo and how big it should be. Well ...not to worry. I felt very comfortable with Jeff and he was great at explaining the procedure and putting me at ease. When he finished my ladybug it looked so realistic! It's been only one week and I am back home. Today I got a tattoo here at Guru Tattoo by the incredibly talented artist/tattooist Jeff. Both he and Russ are friendly, professional, and always excited to bring a new tattoo to life. I have been in various shops around the country and Guru Tattoo is by far the most respectable shop I have entered. The environment the shop creates, as well as the passionate artists within, provided me with my most pleasant tattoo experience yet. I could not be more pleased with the work performed on me today! We recently visited FL and my husband was very excited to get more work added to his piece done by Russ in September. My husband called in March to make an appt with Russ for Wednesday May 25th. The week before our trip my husband called to confirm ... No appt was ever written down .. No big deal because Russ was able to schedule him for the same date and time. My husband shows up to his appt to find out Russ was arrested. We travelled about 30 minutes to get to Guru... It would have been nice it someone would have called to let us know. While my husband was there Jeff(the owner) told him o come back arose no 5:30/6 and he would do the tattoo. My husband called later that afternoon to confirm and was told to call around 6 before heading out.... My husband did that and was told by Jeff that he could no longer do his tattoo that day and would call him later that night to reschedule ... Very disappointing because Jeff never called and we returned to our home state of CT a few days later. Because of this experience we will no longer be visiting Guru on our trips to FL. Read Less

I was a little nervous driving to get my conch piercing done, as I had this (incorrect) idea that tattoo shops were dark, intimidating places and I'd be judged for having no tattoos and only my ears pierced haha.  I needn't have stressed though, as this place is very light, inviting and relaxed. I felt comfortable, and was able to ask all my questions before the actual piercing. Everything is very clean, and my piercer was very knowledgeable, pointing out that my initial location wasn't the best idea due to the shape of my ear and helped me find a location I liked that was also optimal for piercing. I have been looking for a tattoo shop for a while now and since my cousin was in town and wanted to get a new tattoo we decided to try this place. From the moment you walk in you can tell it's not your typical tattoo shop. It is decorated in Island Decor and they have reggae playing. The staff was very friendly and the shop well lit and very clean! CJ did our tattoos and he did a great job! We also had the opportunity to talk to the owner as well as a couple of the other artists and they were all very friendly.I will be going back to get a larger piece on my back done with CJ soon! Guru will be my choice for ink from now on! I had a horrible amateur tattoo that needed covering and had been told by several tattoo artists that it would have to be covered up with a similar design to keep it from looking like a cover up. It was a spider. A REALLY BAD spider, but nonetheless, a spider, and I wanted rid of it. Rickie at Guru covered it up with a BEAUTIFUL rose, and you can't tell there was ever anything else there, no matter how hard you look for it. I had also been told by two previous tattoo artists that my skin would not hold yellow because they couldn't get it to take. Rickie had no problem at all with the yellow.
