I couldn't seem to find an artist in Florida for Japanese-style tattoos that I liked, so I consulted with another artist at a high profile shop in NYC and was referred to see Jeff Srsic at Red Letter 1. I couldn't be more satisfied with the outcome.The entire process was extremely smooth. I emailed Jeff initially and he followed up very quickly. He responses were fast and he was honest with me about what he thought would or wouldn't work. It was easy to trust him through this process and I'm happy that I did because he made a fantastic Hannya mask tattoo for me. I receive many positive compliments on this tattoo and have scheduled a follow-up for him to do another piece for me. The shop itself is also very clean and has the most comfortable tattoo chairs/beds I've ever experienced. I would highly recommend Red Letter 1 and Jeff Srsic as your artist. Read Less

RedLetter1 is more than a tattoo studio. It's the most comfortable and aesthetic body art studio in all of Tampa. The shop has a museum feel with all of its art, and since each artist has their own private room, RedLetter1 makes for the most luxury treatment for permanent body art. 10/10. The best tattoo shop by far in Florida! Some of the best art I've seen in a long time from great artists such as Phil, Jeff, and Chris Reed. Got both of my sleeves from Chris Reed and could not be happier with how they still look fresh a couple years later. Line work is beyond amazing and quality is 10 out of 10. Also love that they make there own ink called old small batch. You may have to wait a couple months to get in there for an appointment but worth the wait. I had a small piece done by Angelo in February 2014.  The initial consult was very professional, we went back and forth on the design-I felt great about him.  When I went back for my piece, he was awesome.  He asked me to come back if I needed any touch-ups.  After it healed, I noticed there were some spots that can be filled in better.  We scheduled a date for me to come in about a month later and he cancelled the day before.  He told me he'd call me back to reschedule.  I waited several weeks - nothing.  I've called him and have left him several emails - nothing!  It's now mid-June, 2014 and I have yet to get my piece touched-up.  I'm not sure what the deal is.  Suffice it to say, aside from any touch-ups (if I ever hear back from him) I don't intend to get anymore work done by Angelo.  It's a shame, he seemed like a true professional. Jeff did a piece on my arm, which was completely custom.  He spends lots of time to make sure its exactly what you want and unlike any thing else.  He makes you feel completely comfortable and at ease.  Very professional.  I am constantly getting complimented on the work he did for me.  Extremely detail oriented. I have been coming to this tattoo shop since 2007 when it was in Ybor City off of 15th St and 8th Avenue - they've now moved to South Tampa. I remember I was looking for a shop who had actual artists as tattoo artists and wanted a custom shop. Angelo has done most of my work and all of the artists here are extremely talented. They don't do 'off of the wall' patterns or trendy tattoos; instead they focus on custom tattoos and work with their clients to ensure they have a piece of art on them that they will love forever. I been coming here for about 5 years now and have 4 pieces done by them, my husband has 2. If anyone is looking for a great quality tattoo and wants something one of a kind, this is definitely the place.
