Absolutely fantastic place. I have dreadlocks but keep the sides and back of my head shaved and after I had a barber cut a lock off a few years back I've always been reluctant to try out new barbers (Buddhist priest so my hair is a religious symbol and not many people seem to grasp that concept). Decided to give the guys here a go since the barbers I have met there all seemed pretty on point. I got my hair taken care of and a well styled shave and the barber, Gabby, spent more time and care getting things done right than almost any other barber I have ever been to. When I asked how much I owed I was fully expecting to hear $40-50 and would have been absolutely happy at the price so I was even more blown away when I was told the whole thing came out to $20. Way back when I was a noob, freshly-minted Army guy, I have always recalled what my First Sergeant would say: "Yo. You can't run fast because your hair's too long." (Disclaimer: I took the liberty to clean up the actual comment, which was usually punctuated by face-planting myself into the ground.)Fast forward a decade or so and now that I'm a civilian (long-haired and all)...that former 1SG comments still resonate in my head. I haven't found a good barber off-post in all these years and I was a bit leery about this place. It's nondescript location adjacent to a Circle K just added to my skepticism, but after my "high-n-tight", my impression did a 180. Bottom line: Excellent. I went to this barber shop for the FIRST time today. Let me tell you, from the minute I walked in I felt right at home, as if I'd been going here for years!! The entire staff greeted me and treated me with courtesy and respect. To put the icing on the cake, Sammy hooked me up with the FRESHEST haircut I ever got! While I was getting my cut, Sammy formed conversation and made me feel right at home. He asked me how I wanted my haircut and listened to EVERY detail and got it perfect! I also saw some haircuts the other barbers gave to other customers and they are all VERY talented! This place is the real deal, I guarantee you will never search for another shop after getting a haircut here.
