My initial experience at this shop was great. I came in shortly before they closed asking for a nose piercing and the staff was really nice about accommodating me and my friend who was with me. The piercing was wonderful, Kasey did a great job, and I had minimal problems healing. Unfortunately my experience was not as great upon returning visits. I went in a few weeks after my piercing as I was told, just to make sure the healing process was going well. I brought to the staff's attention that I thought a bump was growing and they kind of disregarded me, barely looked and said it should be fine. The third time I went in was for help changing my ring to a clear placer for a new job I was about to start. Over the phone I was told to bring in the placers I had bought and it would be no problem for them to help. Upon arrival I was presented with a fee (which I would have been okay with if I was warned) but there was no previous mention so I didn't come prepared, and the staff seemed kind of "sorry, not sorry" about it.Needless to say the piercing closed and I will definitely be going somewhere else to get it Re-Pierced at the end of the summer. I got my second ever and most visible tattoo here a few Friday the 13ths ago. The artist was mostly friendly despite how busy it was. He did mess up the numbers, though. It says '73' and not '13'. He apologized but I suppose I'll just get it filled in to cover it up. Two of my friends and I received piercings at this shop recently. My piercing is healing okay, but I would not return to this shop or recommend it to anyone due to the customer service we received. My friends and I felt rushed and unwelcome at this shop. We arrived close to their closing time, but if you're doing something as sensitive as piercing, you should be mindful of not rushing, so if the piercer felt rushed, I would have rather she let us know than to accept us and then have an attitude about the situation. Second, we asked her a lot of questions because for two of us, it was the first piercing we were getting besides your standard lobe piercing. This isn't something most people are educated on, so you should want to make sure your customer knows what they're getting themselves into so your work can heal properly. Third, one of the piercings given that day has given my friend a lot of issues, mainly, it has popped out numerous times. I'm no expert, but I don't think jewelry should be going straight through the hole, back and all, if done correctly. Me and my other friend's piercings are healing okay, but they aren't placed perfectly. All in all, it was okay and I understand piercing can be tricky and difficult to heal at times, but we felt very unwelcome and rushed during our visit. I visited a different shop for a new piercing two weeks later, and my experience was so great and different, that I do not think anyone should visit this shop for a piercing when there are others out there delivering top notch service. Went here to get an Industrial re-pierced instead of empire because it was 1/2 off price and closer, will never step foot in this shop again. I waited 2 hours (which I didn't mind because I called before going in). When I finally got to the piercing room, the woman piercing me did not let me check the markings before piercing, did not let me know before she pushed the needle in although I requested that she did prior to starting, and then proceeded to squeeze my ear to stop the bleeding the same way you'd squeeze a cut on your finger. It wasn't until I got home that I noticed she had PIERCED MY INDUSTRIAL COMPLETELY WRONG! Shortly after my 18th birthday I went to Capital City Tattooz for a helix cartilage piercing. I am so thankful this is the place I chose to go to. The second I arrived I was greeted with kindness and cordiality. Some of the employees helped me park, and then immediately helped me at the front desk to get my piercing started. My helix piercing was $65 (including the earring) which I think is a great price considering the awesome service. The woman who pierced my ear was named... Kalah. From the moment I stepped into the piercing room it was clear she knew exactly what she was doing. She took every precaution to make sure my health wouldn't be at risk. She answered all of my questions about what she was doing and why she was doing it. She was patient and kind towards me, as were all the other employees, making a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere in the shop. The piercing process went well and afterwards she told me I needed to come back in 2 weeks for a check up, further proving to me how much care they take with the health of their customers. She also told me how to take care of the piercing (information that past piercers had neglected to tell me). They really know what they're doing there and it's a very sterile environment. Then something interesting happened. I'm a naturally queasy person and for some reason this piercing really got to me. I started to get really light-headed and I eventually completely passed out. This had nothing to do with the shop environment, I'm just a naturally queasy person when it comes to most types of body modification. When I woke up I was in the presence of Kalah and 2 of the other employees who took excellent care of me. They were completely prepared for this type of situation and they did everything they needed to help me get better. Kalah caught me when I passed out, gave me caffeine to help with my blood pressure, continued to take care of my new piercing, and the other employees helped me get up and stabilize myself. Once again, I'm extremely thankful for the people at this shop. And the whole time they were super nice and friendly about it. I would give this shop 6 stars out of 5 if I could. The wonderful staff at Capital City Tattooz will make you feel right at home as soon as you walk through the door. My piercing experience with Calah was amazing. She calmed me down and talked me through the whole procedure. I’ve also had wonderful experiences with Chelsea and Hunter while getting my latest tattoos. Chelsea is hands down one of the most amazing artists I’ve ever had the pleasure of getting work done by, and has the most gentle hand. Chayla was the best piercer I've had! No only easy to talk too, but she's amazing at what she does. Sterile, polite, and made me feel so comfortable I honestly didn't mind un dressing in front of her. I recommend her 5 starts. Simply because I was afraid and she got me outside of my comfort zone. This young women is it only optimistic and safe with what she does she makes you feel more comfortable then ever. Don't be anxious about new piercings. Please go see her asap. I am thrilled with the job Chelsea did on my tattoo. it was a cover up she made it look so magnificent her art work is amazing and on top of that your input matters to her she cares about doing her best job and she does an excellent job! I felt so comfortable and everyone there is so sweet I could have talked to them all night the whole experience was great I'm so happy I chose them over the other tallahassee options. There was literally a crowd watching her tattoo me they loved to watch her work her magic. She's very good with color! My tattoo pops! The detail is incredible I've gotten many compliments. Take your hard earned money somewhere where they actually care about delivering quality services. The piercings that I got here were referred to as looking like they were "done in the kitchen at a party" by a friend. When I went back in to talk about my options, I was immediately met with "there are no refunds" and "there's nothing wrong with those piercings." I did not feel cared for at all as a customer who paid over 100 dollars for unsatisfactory services/for nothing. Went in to get my eyebrow pierced by Mackayla who did an awesome job making sure the piercing was placed where I wanted, that I understood it was going to hurt so I would not be surprised, and made sure I got the size that would be safe for possible swelling but also look good. She was great about telling me the aftercare (which she had to do 3 or 4 times because I kept forgetting) and was patient. Had Chelsea do my first tattoo earlier today and it was an AMAZING experience. She was super calm and talked with me about everything. I went in super nervous about the pain and location (on my inner wrist) but she showed me hers and we talked about her experiences getting them as well as giving them. Helped a lot knowing that other people were just as nervous their first time. I love the tattoo and she was very gentle (well...as gentle as a tattoo can be). I just got 4 piercing done here. This place is Amazing!!! I know when your googling it's not the first to come up but it should be. If your looking for a place to get pierced look no further than here. Hunter, the front desk guy is just the sweetest friendliest person ever!! His very welcoming and easy to talk to. My piercer Burr, she is just the boom dot com :) very professional, very informative, extremely sweet. It was like getting pierced by someone who really CARES about you. She did an EXTRAORDINARY job with helping me get through the pain and MARKING my piercing just right where I wanted them!! I felt so comfortable with her. I left there feeling like I've been friends with her for years! I would differently go back. It's a very clean atmosphere sort of like a clinic. I got my very first tattoo here, and it was the best experience one could ask for. The front desk guy (I never got his name lol) was very sweet and patient and helped me work through my design to get it just right. My tattoo artist, John Paul, was even more pleasant. I'll be honest, I got my first tattoo here when I was 18 (almost ten years ago) and I was beyond disappointed, it was horrible and had to be covered up by another artist at a different shop. Not to mention the atmosphere was uncomfortable and everyone seemed rude and off-putting. Well I had heard that over the years they had really shaped up and done a 180, so when I decided on getting a Marilyn Monroe piercing I decided to try them out one more time. (I've got four piercings and twelve tattoos so I'm very familiar with these things just FYI) So I go in and I'm immediately impressed with how much cleaner and nicer everything was compared to my previous experience, and not only that but I was immediately approached by staff who were extremely nice, professional and knowledgeable, a complete change from the rude and dazed out staff from my previous  experience. Steve was my piercer, he was super friendly and knowledgeable and thoroughly discussed with me my plans for my piercing and gave me his professional opinion on how we should go about placing it and so on. Well he suggested a spot and I felt like that was a little to high so I asked him to go lower, and he did what I asked even though it was against what his professional opinion was. Oh and he also noticed that my nose was pierced but had no jewelry, so he hooked me up with a nose ring at no extra charge, which I thought was super awesome and observant of him to even notice, which to me shows a dedication not only to his craft but also to his customers. So after he was done piercing me he gave me a thorough rundown of the proper aftercare and even provided me with some literature for reference in case I didn't remember what we discussed. And then before I left he told me that if after wearing it for a while I realized that it was in a bad spot, I could come back and he would re-pierce it at no charge to me, he said all his customers get two chances! Lol! Well after a few days I realized that the piercing was too low and the back was right at my gum line so every time I moved my mouth, the back was ripping my gums away from my teeth--super super painful--and totally my fault for not taking his advice on placing it higher! So I came back in and Steve was totally awesome about re-piercing it for me, without even an "I told ya so!" Lol! (Which I totally woulda deserved!) and on top of that, I had lost my original jewelry and they still didn't even make me pay for a new one, they just did it all on the house, and were nothing but absolutely super nice and professional about the whole thing. I felt like I was treated as a friend more than a customer and that's the kinda place I wanna keep coming back to! I would recommend Capital City to anyone looking for a nice, clean, professional and affordable place for all your tattooing and piercing needs, I know I won't be going anywhere else ever again! So I'm a good Catholic college girl at FSU - I'm getting a tongue ring. The location was right up the street from campus so I skip out after class. Parking sucks! I had to dig deep down and do some illegal south Fla moves to get into the shop. Once inside, everyone looked scary. Thank God they are the nicest friendliest people ever! I was fully informed about the risk of the piercing and how to care for it afterward. We ate lunch one afternoon and decided to check out some local shops. We walked into this shop and it was clean, very friendly cool staff, great artwork posted on the walls.  Some people have a fear of walking into tattoo studio's because it can be intimidating.  Most artist can look a bit scarey with their bodies covered in tat's and well most just look mean. ha ha That is not the case.  These dude's and dudette's were all so cool with great service and made you feel very comfortable.  Tag, was the artist who came over and began to answer questions and draw some artwork for us. He was this very cool Irish man from Louisiana. Seriously he looked like a leprechaun. LOL, very cool dude. They have the most reasonable prices in all of Tallahassee, and will free hand anything you have in mind. As we were standing in there, the place had many people getting tattoo's and walking in. They stay quite busy. We were in here for a couple of hours as two people we were with got tattoo's from Tag. He did an awesome job, both looked amazing. He was professional, fun, and meticulous. A true artist at best. If you are looking for a great piece of artwork in a clean sanitary environment, at reasonable prices, check this place out. Read Less
