Awful ! I've went here twice in the piercing department and it is nasty as hell. Rich is the owner he does a lot of piercings . I as another person who commented had non appropriate jewelry . I got my belly button done and it never healed for a full 8 months then finally rejected . The ring he put in when he pierced it squeezed my skin so tight because swelling and just not the right size for me it made a hole the size of the top ball and it was very painful and disgusting I went to Chicago Inkster and Christine my favorite piercer in the world ( very recommended for tats and piercings ) she fixed it to the right jewelry said it was unacceptable for a fresh piercing maybe a year goes by and I needed help switching my helix piercing and there was this girl in there who helped me she shoved jewelry in made my piercing bleed everywhere and put to tight of jewelry on my ear which made me get bumps I did not have and I eventually had to take it out because I could not switch it again due to the pain caused by her shoving shit through my ear then squirting liquid stuff all over my ear swearing it was infected and even squeezed it and it hurt a lot and I told her not to I would do it . ( they did not pierce my helix only belly button ) but she didn't even clean the jewelry for my ear before shoving it through  awful place to go !!!! And also when rich did my belly button he didn't have the jewelry ready so I was standing up when he pierced it and i stood no joke for 2 whole minutes with just the needle hanging there waiting for his dirty fingers to grab  small ass jewelry that the balls didn't even match (: so yeah awful !! i went into gothic to get my inner conch pierced. the piercer had me fill out paper work and she seemed professional. i asked for a 16g hoop but they didn't have that jewelry and she told me they don't have 16g jewelry or needles (which is bs. every shop has 16g needles). so she ends up piercing my conch with a 14g and a labret for jewelry. it was incredibly painful after the piercing and i couldn't even smile or talk because it hurt so bad. a day later, the piercing still w...as causing excruciating pain. i took a picture of the back of the piercing and it turns out she didn't even pierce my ear. she pierced it at an angle and the flat side of the labret was pushing into the back of my head. i went back to her and received a full reimbursement. it took her 15 minutes to take out the piercing because of how swollen it was. she even offered me a free piercing because she knew it was horrible. i had two wounds: the piercing hole and where the labret pushed into my head. never going back there ever again. I have been to many different tattoo and piercing shops and gothic city is by far my favorite place. It is 40 min away from my place but I am more than happy to make the drive because they are worth it. They did a tattoo and a couple piercings of mine and now they are the only place I will go to. Atalanta did three piercings of mine and she did a great job. She's clean, quick, kind, explains everything and checks in with you continually to make sure you are doing ok and every...thing looks how you want it to. She even was there for me when I had an emergency and a piercing fell out after a few days. Alex did my tattoo and he did a great job and now he will be the only one I go to. He did my tat free hand and it is now my favorite tattoo. Both Alex and Atalanta are very talented and are now my go to's. The shop has good vibes and is a chill place to hang while your doing what your doing. Last note....don't be an ass. When you go to get work done tip these guys what their worth or don't go. And people who are getting piercings from Atalanta, five dollars is not a reasonable tip. She is taking time from her day to do what you want and most of the time people live off tips. If you have ever depended on tips then you know five dollars isn't crap and can't even get you a decent burger. Do not tip her less than $15 as that is just not cool. Show these guys some love ! I went to gothic city to get my daiths pierced felt comfortable at first ... The piercer showed me the dots she placed which I couldn't see ...She pierced my rooks not my daiths didn't look like the picture I seen so I called her and she said I showed you the dots where I was piercing and I said your the professional that I just paid 100$ to pierce me! You should know what daiths are... She said she fixed but I declined I'd take my business elsewhere and she never told me proper way of cleaning them.. Went to Gothic City to get my nipples pierced and was practically traumatized by the experience. The piercer put in these ridiculously small curved barbells that were totally inappropriate and caused me more pain than the norm the next few days. I went to a piercing shop out of state and had them change the barbells and they were all freaking out about how tiny the bars were and how I should never go back to this shop again. I came in yesterday for my first ever tattoo. This place came highly regarded. I was there a little after 1 and did not have an appointment - as I attempted to call and make one prior too (no answer) and even Facebook messaged (No response). So I figured I would still give it a go and show up to see if there was an artist available. I have never felt so uncomfortable in an establishment. They acted like they couldn't be bothered with me and my friend who was also interested i...n getting some work done. I knew exactly what I wanted and it would have been a fairly simple job, but no one even asked me what I was looking to do! I sat there awkwardly waiting and did not get acknowledged. I even waited outside for a bit, after about 30 minutes one of the artists said "Oh yeah, the guy with the ponytail inside will help you" in a snarky, inconvenienced tone.
