Tonight was the second time I've been to Sacred Rites to get a piercing. The first was a nose piercing and tonight was my tragus. Both times I was very happy with everything. My tattoo was done by Peter who was awesome and super chill.  I love my tattoo which he designed in memory of my Mom.I also got a piercing done by Megan while I was there.  It was the third piercing that I had done in my nose, (The first two in other shops),  but the only one that I was happy with the placement of the piercing.I love this shop and am so happy with the work they've done for me!! Peter did a cover-up tattoo for me today. He turned a disaster into a beautiful piece of art. The old tattoo was in a conspicuous place on my arm and I was embarrassed for anyone to see it. I highly recommend Peter. I’ve been to the shop multiple times and they are all super approachable and extremely knowledgeable. Peter has done five of my tattoos and he’s amazing at detail. He’s more than willing to talk about size and color and the price associated with a tattoo. I’ve even gotten a piercing done and my piercer was also extremely clean and told me exactly what she was going to do before she did it. Seriously the BEST shop around. I have had so many piercings done here. They have all been done very professionally, Megan makes you feel very comfortable and makes sure you completely understand the after care before you leave. I have also had a lot of tattoos done here. The artists are the best around. The shop is so clean, everything is covered and dispoable. I have gotten multiple tattoos from multiple venues and this is hands-down got to be my favorite place to get some new ink. Robbie has been a friend since high school and when I found out he was tattooing there I knew I had to go see him. I'm extremely glad that I did! Fantastic. Mario designed the perfect piece for me using ideas I had from a few different places. It is everything I hoped for... definitely plan to book with Mario again. Update 5/6/16: Just had another piece done at SRT, by Mario. I love that he really gets what I want, and executes it flawlessly. The shop has a laid back vibe, but is still extremely professional and CLEAN. Update 6/9/19: Decided to finally get my nose pierced on June 1, since I am allowed to wear piercings at my new job. Megan was fantastic. Perfect placement, quick, and essentially painless. She gave thorough aftercare instructions and encouraged me to come in and see her if I had any issues or concerns. So I was on vacation in FL, but I knew while I was down there one of the things I wanted to do was get some piercings I had been wanting for a while. I did some research and Sacred Rites seemed like the obvious choice (I also had some friends recommend them) and I am SO glad I went there for my piercings. Megan was my piercer. I went in, told them what I wanted, and she immediately took me back. I was in and out in no time. She was super thorough, everything looked super clean and sterile, and she was just awesome. She was so quick with doing the actual piercing which I think helped it not hurt as bad, and you can tell she knows what she’s doing. When she was done piercing me she went over some instructions with me, and gave me a chance to ask any questions I may have had. She also gave me a paper to take home with very thorough instructions on how to care for my piercings, which I personally thought was great. My piercings are healing amazingly, and I’ve thankfully had no problems at all so far! Even though I live over 1000 miles away, I don’t want anyone other than Megan to do my piercings. I’ll wait until I visit FL again just so she can do them for me! 😊 But seriously, if you’re in the area I’d highly recommend checking out Sacred Rites, and if you want a piercing, you gotta go see Megan! Went for my second tattoo yesterday with Peter at Sacred Rites. He did an amazing job again! Everyone who sees my tattoo and has seen the other one is so impressed by his meticulous work! He puts you completely at ease, is incredibly detail oriented and in general is simply an awesome guy and I feel privileged to show off his art everyday! The staff is informative and kind. The place is very clean. All the artists are so talented and work carefully to ensure ta personalized experience fitting of each clients needs. Only giving a two star because cleanliness of shop but had a horrible experience. Chose this shop while I was on vacation because of all the excellent reviews they were given. Went in to get my nipples pierced and what a mistake that was. Hope was my piercer and assured me that although I had smaller anatomy she would still be able to pierce me just fine. she had to pierce one of them twice because she couldn't get it right. Although when I was finished I didn't think they looked right I figured it might just be swelling. The following day i was back home and knew something wasn't right. You know what they say no one knows your body but you. Went to a local trusted tattoo shop and was told that one of my piercings was far off and incorrectly placed and pierced and that if I didn't take out the other one out as well my body was going to reject it and result in my nipple splitting in half because of how incorrectly pierced it was. Additionally was told the wrong jewelry was used as well. Luckily I reacted quickly enough to take them both out and will have to get them re pierced but upset that i had to go through all the pain and stress. If they didn't feel comfortable piercing me I would of preferred being told that vs going through all the trouble & on top of that wasting my money. So beware going here to get piercings , just wanted to share my experience ! Read Less

Went in to get my first tattoo and the girl who greeted me at the front counter was really rude, I think overall the staff could be a lot more patient with their customers, especially for a newbie like me. The girl I had talked to told me that I was going to "hate" my tattoo and the placement I chose but she didn't offer any suggestions or insight as to what would be better. I then talked to Robbie, the artist, and he was a bit better than the girl but still didn't really make me feel like he was listening to what I wanted, he just kinda pushed what he thought would be best. Overall it was very rushed and they made me feel like I shouldn't even have come in the first place.In the end I just decided to go somewhere else where they would listen to my input and help me design a tattoo that I would love. Would not recommend to people who are getting a tattoo for the first time, you should go somewhere where they will listen to what you want and make you feel comfortable. Read Less

Their piercer seriously saved my life today! I had a heart shaped earring in my daith piercing and couldn't get out to save my life, as it got wiggled around and was in the wrong place. It was definitely the worst pain in my entire life, but she got it out, had to re-pierce the top opening, and put new jewelry in it. After all of that, she didn't want to charge me! I've had three tattoos done at sacred rites. My first experience was good. I decided to donate my sons birthday gifts to the tattoo shop to help their adopt a family since my son's father and I had both gotten work done there. The owner was really nice and helped my family get tattoos for my family at a discount. They weren't really how I imagined them but still very meaningful to us. I was hesitant about going back but I was going to get my boyfriend a tattoo for his birthda...y and he wanted to check out sacred rites. We made our appointments about a month and a half ahead of time, we were told we could change the appointment time if we had to after we checked our schedules. We changed it two days later, still very ahead of time. Then two weeks before the appointment I was told we would have to go back to the original appointment time, which wouldn't have worked for us and then I requested to keep my appointment time or get a refund. I was told deposits weren't refundable because the artist gets paid for drawing the tattoo and the artist would make it work with the time that would work for us. It seemed like he would be rushed and not have much time to do our tattoos. My boyfriend called him after I told him my concerns and went to see the drawings that my deposits paid for and he was shown images off Google the translations for what he wanted were wrong and in a different language than requested. My tattoo wasn't drawn because it was simple. So not getting the deposit back seemed unreasonable considering no real work had been done. He decided he didn't want the tattoo anymore so I decided to get my mom one with me last minute so I wouldn't lose my deposit. She wanted a quote pretty simple. I was glad they worked with the change of plans however the staff was complaining about previous costumers while they were tattooing us, very unprofessional environment and rude. My mom didn't like the way her quote was typed she wanted two lines the artist seemed very annoyed she had him fix it. I came across Sacred Rites Tattoo while doing research for my arm piece. I wanted a specific look and feel for it. This would be my biggest piece and one that would almost always be showing. I met Jeff Akers when I stopped in and immediately felt he was the one for my tattoo. I sent him my ideas and a week later he tattooed me. I couldn't be happier with it!!! My whole experience with the shop was amazing, it is such a friendly and comfortable shop. Jeff designed the tattoo exactly how I pictured it and I have been getting non stop compliments on it. Before becoming part of the staff here at the studio I was a client, the two pieces I had done on me won second and third place in best old school. the atmosphere and the quality of art that comes out of this shop is what pushed me to become a tattoo artist. I went here while on vacation with my friend to get our noses pierced. Robbie had told us he'd do or piercings, that he was new. We were okay with it because we figured how hard was it to mess up a nose piercing? I realized after getting mine done why my friend was so nervous and almost backed out. He was shaking no the whole time!!! Not something you want someone with a sharp needle about to stab you with doing. He got her bar in, went to screw the ball on, and dropped it..not once, but twice. After my nose healed I went to look for jewelry. I was told I was pierced with a 16g needle. So naturally I look for 16g jewelry and can't find anything. I visited two malls and 8 stores with no such luck. I ended up having to put a different size in and my nose hurt so bad due to the size difference. Or so I'm guessing. I kept my nose cleaned the way I was instructed. I suggest if you're going for a piercing to ask someone whose experienced. Robbie was nice, but not experienced and too nervous. Cleanest and most professional tattoo and piercing parlor I've seen!  Great artists!  I have a friend who goes to Ashley, my work was done by James.  They are both outstanding!  Ignore posts from cheap people.  Remember, the time an artist needs to spend hired by you, and the time spent on the extra details, size, and colors of a tattoo are all billable hours.  If you want quality, permanent artwork, rather than cheap, this is the place for you!  Look Sacred Rites up on facebook, they post some of their recent work there.  Absolutely amazing!!! "Not so fast"... At first I thought this shop was truly different. I brought both my wife and my brother in for tattoos. Both came out fine and there were no issues so I decide its my turn. I start out by speaking with Ashley. I explained in detail what I was looking to have done and where I wanted it. She looked at my arm and came up with a verbal idea. She gave me an estaminet of $450-$500, asked for a deposit and said she'd draw something up and email it to me. I then researched her and came in the next day to leave her said deposit. She informed me that the price could then go up "8,9, or more".  Days later she sent what I thought was a good looking piece and she explained that it would cost $800. Taken back by the almost 40% price increase I tried to reason with her. She wouldn't entertain the thought. They must be so busy here year round that they can turn away business...a repeat customer. In closing, I wouldn't use this shop unless your willing to play into their money game. Plenty of places in the area I'd really look closely at before settling with this one. Read Less

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my new tattoo from sacred rite. Chris and Mike were the best. I was scared and though it still hurt (which was expected) they helped me get my mind off the pain.
