I stumbled across this shop while searching for a tattoo place that I had been to once here in Pensacola years ago. I was lucky to have the man in charge, Boneface, himself do a coverup for me. Not only is it huge and the start of my sleeve, I am in love with it. I am beyond happy with the results. The price was a little more than I have paid for some other tats, but you definitely get what you pay for so I cannot/will not complain. This coverup is my 15th tattoo and by far the most easy to sit through (all 6 or so hours ;)). Like honestly, my butt was more uncomfortable than the actual tat. I am only here for a few months and if I could get a tat once a week here until I leave, I definitely would. I look forward to getting more work done here before I head back North! Read Less

I've been going to Matt at Boneface Ink since 2012.  The shop, located on the top floor of an office building near the entrance to Cory Station, is unassuming from the outside, but inside it is spacious, brightly lit, and exceptionally clean.  There is a decent sized waiting area, and the spaces where the artists do their work all have a good amount of room so they aren't bumping into each other.I have 13 large custom tattoos, all done by Matt, and every one of them gets me stopped and asked who did them (and since I've moved to Atlanta, a lot of disappointed groans when they find out he's in Florida!).  From start to finish, from design to sketch to setting up his workspace to actually doing the tattoo, Matt is a PERFECTIONIST, which is exactly what you want in a tattoo artist!  Matt is humble, but prides himself on 2 things: the quality of his work, and his honesty. If you are looking for an artist that will tattoo whatever you want, wherever you want, Matt is not the guy for you.  He's been doing high level tattooing for long enough that he KNOWS if a piece will not work in a specific area, and is what you want is not going to last the rigors of time... And he will refuse to do a piece if he knows that what you want will not reflect well upon him as an artist.  He is accommodating and personable to a point, but he has zero tolerance for bullshit, stupidity, and diva behavior.  That's one reason I respect him so much, because I'm the same way!  That, and he's one of the smartest people I've had the pleasure of getting to know!So if you are looking for a WELL DONE piece of flash, or a custom piece that will turn heads for the rest of your life, book an appointment with Matt.  Don't be a dick; bring your ideas and listen to his advice and opinion; he's got enough experience and an amazing artistic eye, you won't regret making changes if what you have in mind just won't quite work, trust me!  Follow his aftercare instructions (looking at you, beach bunnies who go swimming the day after they get tattooed and wonder why the ink comes out, and dudes getting hot and sweaty and dirty at the gym and wondering why their piece got infected... dumbasses), add you'll have a piece you will be happy to show off until the day you die! In response to GiGi. You were one of the MOST indecisive and unreasonable customers I have ever experienced. What you were asking to be done was not possible the size that you wanted it. I made concessions and did The art how you wanted it. The age and condition of your skin would not allow it and you were informed of that prior. Half way through the actual process of your tattoo you decided to "just add to it real quick" some writing , it's not just that easy.....especially the size writing you desired. You ma'am were unreasonably rude, and very difficult to work with. In fact I think I handled the situation with you beautifully,  any other artist would have kicked you out of thier chair and refused to tattoo you.I handle it so well that your husband (who accompanied you by the way) apologized to me several times, he even made a special effort to come back IN the shop, apologize for your actions and gave me a cash tip that was in excess of the price of your tattoo! Your review of me is literally the only bad review I have recieved in 16+ years of tattooing. I'm sorry you felt this way about your experience,  you did not express any of this the day of your tattoo, even after it was done and were cashing out. I'd give these guys 2 thumbs up on the work they did on my wife and I. Nice lines, colors and great shading. I told Matt what I was wanting and this guy took it to a whole new level. I've had many tattoos but this was by far the best experience I have ever had. The parlour is professional but relaxed and the counter staff was knowledgeable and helpful. I don't have any negative things to say about my experience at Boneface Ink. I worked with Matt and absolutely love my tattoo. From my first consultation with him I knew I was making the best decision. I asked him for an anchor with a lily (as realistic as possible) and he didn't disappoint. Yane did an amazing job on my arm with a realistic tiger! At first I wanted the tiger with a rose and a word on my wrist and he was going to charge me $1200. So I asked how much the tiger would be and he said $5-600. So why is the little rose and a word worth $600?? The pricing doesn't really make sense. At the end of getting the tiger tattoo, of course he charged me more $550 since I previously made the $50 deposit. So the total was $600 + tip. Read Less

I came in on two different occasions to get my piece done and each time I came into the shop my whole experience was amazing! My artist was Mike Caughlin and he did a great job on my half sleeve and at a very good price! If you have any work that includes a lot of shading or skulls. He is the artist for you! Read Less

Highly unprofessional and rude! We went in to have Matt do some awareness ribbons for my disability and a small name tattoo. He was unable to keep the appointments we made on multiple occasions. For the name we couldn't make out any of the lettering so he roughly scrubbed it off yanking my arm and said he would just draw it instead. The lettering was way too large and I wanted it small so again he scrubbed it off roughly saying "this damn thing isn't even worth the fucking trouble!". I did not appreciate his attitude as I am sure no-one would! At another point when he was working on me he kept wiping his snotty nose on his gloves. I prayed that it would not drip into my tattoo as he worked. The whole experience was pretty horrible and all 3 tattoos we got need to be reworked by another artist at another shop. It is clear that his only focus is doing only what he pleases and not what the customer wants! Stay clear of this studio and of Rude Matt and save yourself some sorrow. Read Less

They double booked my appointment for a touch up on top of that, the service they give to their clients is non existent(rude people). I have to go back home with a crappy done tat.
