I went to English Chris today to get my tattoo done, I’m not one to talk much when getting a tattoo so I brought my girlfriend along to keep the conversation flowing. Every topic to come up Chris could keep the conversation flowing, he was kind and personable. I had a fun time talking to him and just hearing what he had to say he’s an all around very friendly guy. His tattoo work is amazing as well, he spent quality time and care doing my tattoo and it came out just as I had wanted. He goes above and beyond with his tattooing, he recommended me a way to do my tattoo to help it last longer and he genuinely cared about the art he was putting on to my body. I was turned onto Third Eye Wide by a friend who had stellar work done by English Chris. I had 6 pieces on various parts of the body, all done by various artists. The worst by far was was also the most visible, a cover-up on my forearm. While accompanying my friend to the shop to have a tattoo done on her own forearm, I started running some ideas by Chris about pieces I was thinking about. When he saw my forearm he asked if I had ever considered fixing the disaster on my ...arm (my words, he was much more tactful). I explained that mess was already a cover-up! Chris assured me with no hesitation that he could definitely fix it, if I wasn't opposed to going bigger. I had always wanted to start a sleeve and this seemed like the right time to take the plunge. Chris is easily one of the most talented artists in the state, minus the huge ego that usually comes along with the job. I challenge you to find a shop that is more pristine. I've seen the owners cleaning grout between tiles on the floor themselves, which speaks volumes about the standards they have for their business. I've had 3 sittings and about a total of 9 hours of work with Chris so far. His work has exceeded all my expectations. He never makes me feel bad, even if I have to hold my breath and grit my teeth to get through the pain in certain spots. His talent brought me in, but his character is what sold me. Just got tatted Sunday 6/25/17 By Chris Thompson, and I could not be happier with this experience. Chris is the 4th person to place ink on me. The shop is very clean, leaning more towards upscale, warm, and very inviting. The staff was great, which included their piercer Amanda. Both made me feel as they knew me for the longest time. They were courteous, friendly, funny, even offered me a snack. Chris himself was exactly what I needed in a new tattooer. His work can speak for itself, but his technique I can attest to. He is light handed, so it barely even hurt, his attention to detail was great, he was super clean with his work area, and made sure I was doing ok. He actually cares to see the healed art work, which I cannot wait to come back and show how it healed. Which a lot of others I day with were like, "bye" and didn't care if I came back to show them their healed art. Long story short, I am happy with Chris Thompson as my new artist. Having only had one other artist touch my skin in my life, I was nervous when I had to find a new skin artist. Thankfully, the first artist I met with was Chris. I told him what I wanted and left him to create. I was not disappointed when I showed for my appointment. Since then he has done 12 different sessions on me and has produced more than I imagined every time. He is first and foremost an artist and it shows in his work. Not only is he an incredible craftsman but his disposition and attitude make it a pure pleasure to sit by his side for hours while he works his incredible trade and skill. Just got my third piece from Chris. Love it, as always. The imagery is beautiful, he really listens and helps come up with an inspired design, and he knows skin. I have very sensitive skin. I went to another artist once for a charity event following the Pulse shooting. I'm glad I took part in the event, but I will never trust my skin to another artist ever again. The artist pressed too hard and ran the machine too fast, drawing enough blood to create drops and run off, and it... scabbed and scarred for quite a while. Oh, and did I mention it hurt? A lot. Chris knows how to work with sensitive skin. I have a large vein on my wrist, and was worried about bleeding, but my skin barely even turned red, and despite the sensitive area the pain was well within manageable range. And two days later, no scabbing. It's almost completely healed already! Chris is great in many styles, I would highly recommend him to anyone who cares about the quality of their art or wants to reduce pain and heal as quickly as possible. Listen. My friends and I went to their Friday the 13th event they were having and literally stayed there from 9am to 9pm. I cannot tell you how much positive energy radiates from this shop. I got my tattoo done by Bobby and his attitude was just contagious, he made us laugh, and made us feel so comfortable. His very pregnant girlfriend Sarah was also just exuding positivity. Between the two of them, we felt completely at home. The shop itself was clean and welcoming. I will absolutely never go to another shop again. And I would follow Bobby to Norway if he left.
