I recently got an octopus tattoo with Ra Diaz. While the quality was good, the experience was far from it. I sent Ra many examples of what style I wanted to reflect and he had about 2 weeks to draw something before the appointment. I explained to him multiple times the one request I had was it does not have a bumpy/bubbly appearance to it. That I wanted it to be in the shadows and creepy with more line work. The day of, I arrived at the shop and he stated he was finishing up... the design. I found it to be slightly basic, but as it was my first tattoo I figured more line work and shading would not be on the sketch, so I trusted him. About half way through the tattoo and once the work was completed, I realized how closely it resembled the style I didn't want. I felt as though it couldn't be changed so I said I liked it and left. The worst part came a couple days later. I was scrolling through Pinterest and an octopus drawing popped up that looked way too familiar. It was my EXACT design. Another artist created it 3 years ago. Ra put ZERO effort into a custom design for me and then tried to play this off as his own. He even mentioned that he had gone to the gym that morning (instead of doing his job). Attempted to reach out to him with no response. Got my tattoo over a year ago and it still looks fresh. Ive Had a couple of friends go there also and they got two tattoos different times about a couple months or so ago and theirs looks great too. I will definitely keep going back to them. Every one is very very professional and answered all my questions. Worked with my vision on my tattoo and it came out better than i ever expected. Last night I went to get my first tattoo at Game Face. . I was an absolute nervous mess. I had wanted one for years but, was just never able to afford quality work . Sure I could of went somewhere and got it done cheaply, but getting this tattoo has been on the top of my priority list for awhile. I wanted it it done the RIGHT way. I made a post on Facebook asking friends who the best shops in town were. Game Face was the only shop mentioned more than once. I knew within minutes of looking at pictures of their work, that that's where I wanted it done. I scheduled an appointment with Jest , who was able to fit me in , within less than a week wait due to cancellation . I showed up about an hour early for my appointment just so I could prepare myself. He was already working on my sketch before I walked in the door. so I immediately knew I was in a very professional environment which made me feel at ease. The shop is VERY clean which also added another level of comfort. Jest is a PHENOMENAL artist. He completely EXCEEDED my expectations The nicest part abut the experience was that he told me, he typically requires a deposit upon scheduling. Which he passed up , because he knew I was serious about it. Sometimes customers will cancel last minute , and leave him unable to fill the spots , in turn costing him money. He took a gamble considering the amount of time that mine needed . About 2 and a half hours. I would recommend him to anybody looking to get work done. He is as good as you will find ANYWHERE. To begin with , the atmosphere in this place is great. All the tattoo artists are extremely nice and welcoming. I came here because I wanted to get a tattoo that I got done last year fixed/re-touched. JE took care of me and did a great job at fixing my tattoo!!! . His work ethic is off the chart. Before he started working on the tattoo he called me into to his work station and took all the needles out of his drawer and opened them in front of me. JE always has a smile in his ...face and is exceptional at working with clients and meeting their needs. I was really impressed by how much attention he pays to details; he takes a lot of pride in his work and is very humble about asking his clients to be honest with him and letting him know if there is anything that they see that he doesn't. Every once in a while he would update you on what he was doing and how the process was going. While I was getting tattooed a lot of the other artists came in and talk to me and were really nice about making me feel comfortable. I asked JE a million questions and his demeanor and kindness to make I sure I always got an answer was extremely consistent; he never gave me the feeling that he was being annoyed or anything like that. He would stop the time every time he would put the machine away to take a break. He gave me specific instructions in regards of the after-care of my tattoo. I haven been to 4 different tattoo places in my entire life and GameFace is by far the best. I am looking to come back here at the end of the year to get another tattoo. I had recently made an appointment with an artist named Ra and I had made my initial deposit. However, having to wait for both of our schedules to be free I settled for an appointment twenty five days after putting down said deposit. I kept in contact with the artist trying hard to get a sketch or even a response from him seeing as I had made a deposit. Days leading up to the tattoo, no response. Then on the day of the said tattoo, the artist did text me to let me know that he was sick and that he would have to reschedule the appointment with a discount. Appreciated at that however being if nobody else's appointment got kicked back then how was it only mine that would have to wait an additional twenty five days to get the tattoo. Two months after the initial deposit was made and it was "the best he could do." Humble yourself. No matter how talented you are, your customers are your image. They are who you are. I will definitely never be going back to this shop, will make sure none of my friends will and definitely be taking my money elsewhere. EDIT: If you guys are truly as humble as you said you should know what actually happened in the text messages while we were in contact and even though I did receive my refund the work that was "put into my said design" wasn't even finished.
