Absolutely the best work anywhere, sat with Jime Litwalk his reputation precedes him, I travelled from UK on my 1st trip to Disney, I was recommended by a Floridian n even in England through tv's "inkmaster" his work is renowned, visiting Ascension was my main highlight of my trip n the patient, friendly n helpful attitude beforehand really made me feel welcome, the shop is tidy, clean n homely the awards & portfolio's assuring and they have an array of different styles and artists who specialise in whatever you need, do the research, ask about, check the portfolios you won't find better anywhere!!!! My first impressions were very positive. A nice clean shop with lots of fun decorations to look at while you're waiting or getting tattooed. As someone who likes to plan and do their research before doing something like getting a tattoo, I was pretty nervous and unsure if I wanted to go through with getting one when I was brought to ascension by my boyfriend as a birthday surprise. Got my first tattoo with Zac and I couldn't be happier!  It took years for me to find an image that I would want on my body for life and I searched every website looking for the right artist.  It's a simple design but it means a lot to me.  Zac NAILED it!  It can be very intimidating for a shy woman to get a tattoo, but he made me feel very comfortable.  He also did a tattoo for my husband the same day and we are both going back for another one soon.  I cannot recommend this place enough! I received a tattoo by johnny berrios over a year ago. It was a cover up that he was doing for me. I have been trying to finish this tattoo for the last year and for some reason he never gets back with me to fit me in. I went into the shop 2 weeks ago and they told me to go to johnnys station to speak with him about finishing it and he told me to text him. I texted him a picture of my tattoo that he was working on and for some reason again he does not respond at all. I went in the shop today and spoke to the young lady who was the receptionist and I let her know of the situation and I want to see if someone can finish my tattoo and she stated well he would have to finish it and I told her well if he has not made an effort to text me back then how can he finish it. I showed her the text message on me texting him with my tattoo that he was doing and I told her as u can see no response. She said he is here now go talk to him. I just refuse to talk to someone who has no interest in getting back to me to finish my tattoo and it's been a year. It's just a sad situation where I spent money at this place and they just treat u like they don't care. Smh. I walked out and I told her it's just a shame how he does business. But I asked for another tattoo artist to finish my tattoo and your receptionist stated no one can finish your tatto but johnny but I chose not to speak with johnny bc I came in 2 weeks prior and I asked him to finish it and all he said was just text me and guess what no response again. Well, after years of deliberation in my head about what I wanted for a tattoo, I discovered bio-mechanical/techno mech style and it fits my personality. Ant does a few different styles and I was really drawn to his style of bio-mechanical. I followed him on Instagram and continued to love the work he was putting out. Went to his studio, gave him my ideas and he put his creative twists into it and I'm super happy with what came of it. All of the artists at Ascension have extreme talent and are great at what they do. I got my first tattoo from Robert (Bobby) Hawley at Ascension last week and I could not have asked for a better experience! At my consult I showed Bobby the design I was looking at and where I wanted it and he helped me finalize the design and colors.  He also told me how long it would take and the price and was able to squeeze me in the next day- this was only because he had some cancellations, other then that it would have been a week out so be prepared for that! Like anything good, it is worth the wait.The day of, he walked me through the process, making me feel completely comfortable.  After putting the stencil on my arm, he made sure I was completely happy with the placement before starting the permanent ink.  He frequently checked in to make sure I was doing alright and honestly we just had a fun conversation for an hour while he worked.  When he was done I was absolutely blown away by the final product! He gave me explicit care instructions, wrapped my arm up carefully and offered to give me some free ointment but I had come prepared.  He also let me know that I could reach out with any questions and if for any reason it needs to be touched up after healing, the first one is on him.Pro-tips:-there are several different artists at ascension so make sure and do your research a head of time to know whose style you like! Ascension's website has a gallery for each one and you can follow them on instagram.  I chose Bobby for his awesome work with watercolor and he is also well know for his roses.  -Their website also has a great FAQ section about tattoos in general-Give the shop a call to set up your consult with the artist and be prepared when you go, ie at least have an idea of the design you want to get.  - Remember to tip!! About 8 months ago, I went to Ascension Tattoo for a medium sized piece on my back (about 8 inches in diameter) between my shoulder blades. I went in for a consult with Zac, knowing the basic concepts I wanted incorporated, but not really knowing how to put it together. Based on my loose description, he managed to come up with a unique tattoo design that incorporated all my main ideas - colorful artwork, intricate lines, depth and shading. We had 4 sessions ranging from 1-3 hours each. It was amazing! In all my sessions there I got to watch the other artists and everything I saw was impressive. They are friendly, respectful, and very talented. It was fun to hang out at the shop and my tattoo gets tons of positive feedback. The line work is detailed and precise, the colors are vivid, and it was a very relaxed but professional setting. I felt like I could take a break when needed to stretch out or drink water. I've been wanting a new tat for awhile so I decided to ask around and was lead here. I ended up digging Justin's portfolio (aka uncle trashcan) because I'm on my honeymoon I couldn't wait a long time,  and he was awesome and get me in. For all the people who get tats here and don't give a shout out to their artists on Yelp...lame! After doing quite a bit of researching, talking to people in Orlando, and looking at online portfolios I decided to see if Nik could fit me in at some point.  It was my first tattoo and I was looking at a fairly large memorial piece.  I went to the shop and he just so happened to be there and we set something up.  I also wanted to meet him in person first because I am stuck in someone's chair for an hour plus, whether it be my hair dealer, my nail dealer, or my ink dealer the person better be cool to and someone I can feel like I trust to the degree that I will leave happy (and not in pain....or with an Afro....or with a finger chopped off.....etc)   That being said he worked with my design idea, steered me clear of what wouldn't look good, put up with me when I nearly blacked out from getting my nerves in a bunch, and put up with me for four hours while he did his art and listened to me yammer on about assorted b.s.     When he was done I really couldn't believe how awesome it came out.....like so beautiful I wanted to cry right there.   I've only had the tat a short time and I get stopped on the street by people wanting to know who did the work.    I also have not had any kind of complications afterward either.  So yeah, when I get another tat, which of course is only a matter of time, I know who I will go see, no question.  Word to the wise. don't just walk in and expect someone to jump right to it for you.  All of the dudes in here do awesome work and that means that they are booked well in advance.  Not to mention, if you are working with someone over a period of time make the effort to know their name. I want to begin by stating that I do not consider myself a tattoo "connoisseur" by any means. However, Ascension stands out above any other tattoo shop in the Orlando area.This might be a little obvious, but if you are thinking about getting a tattoo, definitely spend the time to do some "research." The term "research" might be loosely thrown around, but do this favor for yourself - do not look only at the art, but take a look at the shop and artists as well (this is probably why you're on Yelp). With that being said, Ascension has a well-designed and very professional website. This should be one of the many indicators that a shop takes this type of work seriously.The shop itself is by far one of the most eclectic tattoo shops I've seen. Firstly, there aren't panels and hanging frames of flash - again, another indicator that the artists working there are passionate about tattoos being an art rather than a business. Very well put together shop.The couple of times that I was at the shop, I had the opportunity to see some of the ongoing work being done by the various artists there. Really skilled group of guys. I have a decent-sized chest piece done by Ant. His work is amazing, but again, do the research and take a look at each artist's digital portfolio that is available on the website. In addition, every artists that I've interacted with was super friendly. Extremely happy so far with the work; I'm due to go back to the shop to get the chest piece finished, but I will definitely continue to get my tattoos from Ascension for as long as I am here in Orlando.
