Wow!  What an amazing honor it was to study under John Hashey.  In the permanent makeup industry one needs to be very careful of trainers who are self proclaimed "experts" and those who will mislead and take advantage of you.  With over 100,000 procedures on record, John Hashey is a TRUE master in this field and he REALLY cares. If you are contemplating taking his training, DO IT!  But get ready to question everything you thought you knew about permanent makeup and be prepared for far more value than you expected.  I spent a week with John to perfect my skills in A+Ocean tattoo removal but I left with such a deep wealth of information that it will take weeks, if not months to soak it all in.  This is without question one of the top training facilities in the world and it's no wonder why people move from all around to apprentice with him.  John Hashey,  I can't thank you enough!! Last year I gave my wife a Groupon  to have her eyebrows done at John  Hashey's  permanent  make up. She had permanent  eyebrows  done years before and needed to have it redone. She had been using regular  eyebrow pencil  for years to cover the previous  work. John had brought  in past students  to work in his  shop and the Groupon  was for their work, not John Hashey  who is world  renown..  John still gave his opinion  and recommended she receive complicated  tattoo  removal from the previous  poor work. He showed us and explained  the entire  procedures. This is a long multiple  step process. The work was begun by the students but before  the steps were done, they had left the shop. John Hashey  personally  stepped in and is completing the work. He has not asked or expected  any additional  money. There is not posible way on earth that John Hashey should deserve a review less than 5 STARS. Any negative review here is unfair and not accurate. Please ignore it! The negative nonsense review below came from a customer that arrived to her appointment 35 minutes late. THE CUSTOMER WAS THE ONE NOT KEEPING HER OWN APPOINTMENT BY BEING NOT PUNCTUAL, and Mr. Hashey was professional enough to respect the rest of his customers time and appointments. I have nothing but words of gratitude tours Mr. Hashey. My eyebrows were literally destroyed by another tattoo shop and when I arrived to Mr. Hashey to remove them, I only received support, kindness, encouragement and professionalism. Before he proceeded he took his time to look at my case and gave me peace of mind explaining how he would proceed to fix the disaster that was done on my face. His wife was as kind as him. She gave me an immediate appointment for the next day first thing in the morning. The store, his team, his technique, the way he handles his business is flawless and only professional. He COMPLETELY removed the entire horrible work done by the previous shop. FIVE Stars is not enough to describe the satisfaction of working with John Hasey's Permanent Cosmetics. Not sure where the bad reviews are coming from... I've had 2 treatments to remove poorly done eyebrows with John. So far, I am THRILLED with the results. He has successfully removed 80% of the pigment, and has restored my confidence. I still have another treatment to go and realize that this is a process. Removing someone's bad work takes a lot of knowledge and time, and John knows what he is doing! There are some reviews on here that claim he is only in it for the money. I can say that that is simply not true. Not only did John perform my treatment at a VERY discounted rate, he wouldn't even let me tip him. He sincerely wants to help people!!! I am a physician assistant, so being in the medical field, I want to get the word out there for those who are looking for help removing/correcting poorly done permanent makeup. Go see John! I was talked into an unlimited service by a guy who quit on John and left him 'high and dry' as John put it and got no service thereafter. I was talked into an unlimited procedures package to remove a small tattoo for $500. I was told I could do a $50 per session instead of $500 unlimited, but was talked into doing the $500 as they said it 'was much cheaper in the long run'. I did one session with John's assistant, and was then informed this assistant quit on John and left John and his wife in a bind. He said this guy was a terrible person, and made John very upset for him quitting on him leaving him with the guys clients to fulfill himself and making it very difficult for him to do so. John tried to assure me he would take over this job for him. However, I only had 1 session with John. After that I called his wife and told her I prefer to pay as I go, and I do not want to do the $500 plan, but rather the $50 plan, even if it costs me more, and I was not happy with the service, the tattoo was not coming off and my skin was not reacting to this procedure well. I was also unfortable the guy who was to do the procedure quit on him. She tried to 'save' me as a client and talked me into continuing the $500 plan. I told her OK, lets schedule the next session. Please call me later today. She never called me. I called her the next day, no one answered and I left a voicemail for her to call me back. She didn't call me back. I called three more times after that, I talked to John once, a week later asking him to tell his wife to call me and schedule my next session. She did not call me. I never heard from either of them and they never once called me back. I called my credit card company and disputed only the amount in which services were not performed: $400. I did not dispute the entire $500. They performed two sessions at $50 each totaling $100. My bank issued me a refund of $400. Then two weeks later I get an angry call from John saying he is going to sue me. Unbelievable. This is the first time I had even heard from them. You would think I would have heard from them to be scheduling the next session. He was very angry and abrupt and ended up hanging up on me. I called him back and very clearly told him I only disputed the amount that was not fulfilled and that no one called me to schedule any future sessions or returned my calls. He hung up on me two more times as I continued to call him back explaining the situation. He is like a little child hanging up. You would think the business who called me would actually stay on the line to talk but that is the level of professionalism this company provides. It is very low quality, low level people. And he tries to threaten me in court. You need to work on your customer service and maybe you wouldn't have these problems, John. Think a little bit. Welcome to the world of being in business. If you only did what you said you would do you wouldn't have this problem. I want nothing to do with you or your company. Do not call me again. I was very fair in giving them $100 ($50 x 2 sessions). This is the option they provided to begin with and this is the option I choose. You did two sessions I gave you $100. End of story. If you want to sue, you will lose. Hi my name is Christina Cottle and I am currently attending John Hasheys Tattoo apprenticeship program in Oldsmar Florida. I can honestly say that this review has nothing to do with me being afraid of not getting my certifications by John Hasheys Tattoo school. I have been attending John Hasheys Tattoo apprenticeship program since the 1st of August 2015. John and his wife Lisa are wonderful people, they are very caring and big hearted. I am greatly appreciative of the trade that I am learning at John Hasheys Tattoo School and I have learned so much in the time that I've been there. I feel that learning permanent makeup is not something that should be rushed.   Learning permanent makeup and being able to permanently tattoo somebody's face is an art that takes great finesse.  The hours that I put in at school are only going to benefit me and make me and exceptional permanent makeup artist. If John doesn't give a certification to a student it's because he believes that they are not ready to tattoo the human face. I however am grateful for his teaching methods. As a student I see many many a Client who come into have bad permanent makeup removed and I for one do not want to be the technician who has applied bad permanent makeup. With that being said anyone, Student included who have anything negative to say about John Hasheys Tattoo School it's because they are impatient and expect for this to be a short learning process. The review about John is totally false.  I have never been to his school but I have been in his chair and so has my daughter.  John fixed my makeup that was a botched job by another so called permanent makeup artist, little did I know she didn't have a license.  I do my homework now, actually I don't go anywhere except John's place and I send everyone I know there.  John is also removing a tattoo that one of my daughter's friend's gave her.  John Hashey is very stand up, honest man.  Him and his wife are great people.   I have been around John's student's, they have total respect for him.  Bad mouthing John doesn't make you look better.    Anyone can google John Hashey and see  what he has done, while you hide behind a blank picture.    Get a life!! I totally concur with the previous two reviews. In three months, 4 days a week I have learned more on my own and from other technicians than I have attending this "advanced school". Out of state students get certified in a week, Once they get your money, you are basically on your own! The worst educational experience, a huge dissapointment!  John Hashey has a horrible reputation in the industry.  He is his only fan.  Trying to find samples of Hashey's work online?  There is a reason you can't.  He has no talent in traditional tattoo art or permanent makeup.   The few examples that you can find online of his traditional tattoo work will back this up. Never pay for instruction without having viewed your teacher's portfolio!  The reason his current students will give you a recommendation is because once you pay him you do not get your diploma until HE DECIDES.  He has thrown countless students out of his program for questioning his horrible teaching practices.
