Dan King, Kevin Owens and the rest of the amazing team at CCT are the best of the best regarding ink. I would only recommend Cool Cat to anyone whether it’s your first time, an experienced customer or you’re looking for improvement/enhancement to an existing tat done by another artist, then this is the best place to go. Seriously! I’m only recommending my own friends, family members and anyone else who is interested in getting new ink to Cool Cat. Please make sure that you make an appointment prior to entering the shop as these artists are extremely popular and busy with customers who have made previous appointments. Overall, on a scale of 1-10 I rate this tattoo shop an 11. I have always been and always will be a loyal customer to the staff at CCT and would more than highly recommend this shop and only this shop which has two locations in Lauderdale. I cannot think of any other place to go to to get tattoos. My tattoo artist is Kelly. He does a phenomenal job. 6 of us went in so far for piercings and tattoos and I'm bringing more people this week and again in June. I'm also getting more work done by him :-). The other people here are excellent Artist as well and they all treat everyone wonderfully. Read Less

I had a very bad experience at cool cats they messed up my tattoos I just got them fixed at Stevie moons tattoo so it is cost me twice as much money to get them fixed well never go to a cool cats again Read Less

I went in very late, fought to get to Ft Lauderdale from Georgia for a football game the next day. I was the last appointment of the day and worked with Robert who pretty much bent over backwards to accommodate my tattoo wishes. He'd been there all day and had been busy, but he was friendly as hell and his work is perfection!!! It was a very small, behind the ear custom piece that another artist had agreed to do but I was too late for her walk in. Robert did the work for ...me and I could not be happier. So much detail and it didn't hurt me in the slightest, he truly does have a very light hand. Everyone that was there at the shop was kind and welcoming. I would recommend Robert for anything, he's got a very broad range and his Instagram (@yellowwolf_ink) is a better portfolio than the one he has in the shop. Over the past 4 years I've been going to CoolCat for all of my tats. After every time I had work done I always tipped my artist more than normal to show my appreciation of their art and skills and  I was always happy with the finished product except the last time I went about 2 years ago. It was such a bad experience/work performed that I've been reluctant to get anymore tattoos anywhere out of fear the same thing might happen and I'd be stuck with a finished product that basically looks like blobs of black ink for the rest of my life. I have over 20 Chinese characters (last 5 can't read) inked on my left arm due to a mystical Chinese belief that certain traits, qualities, morals, ethics and characteristics flows into a person through the left arm then travel to the heart where they are then absorbed into the body allowing that person to obtain those traits. and then the traits you feel are negative/bad that you want to change or get rid of about yourself go out through the right arm.  I always had 4-5 symbols done at a time. The last time the 5 symbols were on the back side of my left arm which is difficult for me to see maybe that's why the artist didn't care that his symbols looked nothing like the others already on my arm. Every time I went in I brought what I wanted done simple, clear to read individual Chinese Kanji Symbols so I knew what it was to look like and say. But this time when he was done and I looked in the mirror at his slop work  I mentioned that they didn't match size wise and I couldn't make them out due to the lines being to fat and blotchy to which he replied " oh they will your arm just swelled up a bit, but once that goes down and you take care to make sure they heal right they will completely match the others". As I've said this wasn't the first time get a tat and so I know what to do during the healing process so as to not botch the art.  Anyway, I said ok, trusting in the fact I had been here 3 other times and was always extremely happy.  Skip ahead two weeks and the healing process is over and instead of Chinese characters on the back of my left arm I have 5 black blobs of ink that no one chould possibly ever read/understand what they represent. I stopped by the shop later that afternoon and the same guy (can't recal the name) and after his work done oils not call him an artist. Anyways I walked in and said hi and started to talk to him about my tats that he did 2 weeks ago. First he said he didn't remember me, and I was like hummm then after I went into a detail recollection of the day, time etc he said oh ya, you were the guy who gave me that huge tip. Ok what's up? So I showed him my arm and then when I asked what happen he then says " I told you, you had to protect it so it would heal right, it looks like you did something that F*cked it up, sorry man not my problem". At that point I was stunned and almost speechless then I said "well is there a manager or is the owner here I can discuss this with"? To which he replied "he was in fact the manager/owner". Amazing work! Got my first big piece done here and I am sure as hell going back for my next few, big or small. Dan King did mine. It's on my ribs and it's such a painful spot no matter what to be tattooed on, but he made sure to give me a few breathers as I needed them and was incredibly fast, but still did perfect work.
