Just left South Beach yesterday to return home with AWESOME art from Joe!!! We made a random decision to get tatted while in Miami and upon a random stop in the tattoo shop we met Joe, who said he was willing to work with our ideas! We left and my friend did some research and discovered Joe was a pretty awesome tattoo artist so we returned! And Joe did not disappoint. We gave him our ideas and he made them beautiful. T0 make it even better, while talking with him he is a really great guy who totally makes sure ur comfortable and makes completely sure ur tattoo is AMAZING!! I highly recommend that if ur down on the beach and want some ink Stop by and see Joe... he will not disappoint!!!!

Joe is the best tattoo artist around! A group of my friends and I were in Miami for a Bachlorette Party/Weekend and we just so happened to walk by the shop. Joe was incredibly nice and welcoming. I have never work done and I was pretty nervous, but he was chill and never rushed me, nor my friends, to make decisions on what we wanted. We decided to wait so I could do my research on him and the shop and he was great about it. He simply said "No problem, just let me know whenever you are ready and I'll make sure to work with you and take care of you." Neatless to say, I did my research, fell in love with his work and we all decided to go back and get work done. Joe was true to his word! He took took our ideas and made them his own. Best part, he made sure to take his time both when designing the actual artwork and when he was actually tattooing. I got an original script tattoo that reads "persevere," which he embellished with a heart and I absolutely love it!Joe is truly an artist. The website doesn't do him justice. You have to see his portfolio 1st hand and even the work he's done on some of his coworkers to see just how talented the man is. I appreciate him and the piece he did on me. It's subtle yet elegant and I'm proud to wear it.

Came in on a tuesday pricing out a tattoo i was going to get over the weekend i told the artist working that day i want a LV monogram print on my neck jus going a little bit up on my neck not to much he quoted me at $100 and told me there the best tattoo shop in town. I was very pleased with this and i went ahead and tols him i would stop by and get in on the weekend before i leave so i can still hop in the pool/ocean he said thats fine . So Today Sunday i stopped in and was going to get the tat and got quoted at $350!! I was shocked and couldnt believe it and told them it must of been a misunderstanding and i was a little let down so i walked outside and called my girlfriend and told her what happen, as the shop manager Joe was outside smoking a cigarette he over heard me and we started talking he asked me what happen and i told him all this he said hold on and walked inside and starting talking to the artist that was there that day to see if he can do it for me i didnt hear the convo but im pretty sure he denied because he came back up to front and told me its your lucky day!!haha he said im going to tatt you. He said since you came in and you were told a price and you came back and followed up and was told a different price thats not right/solid he said were gonna stand on that first price we told you! I was juiced! He told me he is the number 4 artist in all of Florida and also told me hes from Fremont, California which is by where i live we automatically clicked because he was also in the same exact cars as i was. He was cool as fuck!!!!! He tatted me just what i wanted PERFECT!! Did not rush the tattoo or me out of there i cannot say enough good things about Joe!!! Hes the man foreal cool as shit humble smooth dude. Everytime im in Miami i will def get tatted from him!! JOE my man thanks again brother see you soon!take care! I have 9 piercings and have never had a problem with any of them, I had my nose done here and it's been 5 months of nightmare. The piercer clearly didn't know what he was doing. He told me he could pierce with a hoop instead of a stud and others didn't do that because "they didn't know how". He also told me as I was leaving to "spin the hoop" to help it heal, which I know is also totally wrong (had the same piercing before). I looked him up on the website after I left and he wasn't even on it-- not sure why they were letting a rando amateur pierce unsupervised. I finally had it removed today and it turns out I didn't even have a piercing because he put it in incorrectly (only a third of the metal had gone all the way through my nose). Super irresponsible of the business owners. I've had a swollen, painful face for 5 months.RESPONSE TO OWNER:Hey Ken. I did call you guys. I was blown off and told to just go to another piercing shop (I live in NY and was visiting Miami).

$10 to change my old nose ring out, $15 for a plain open silver nose hoop. 25 total for this garbage. The piercer f***ed up putting in the new nose ring and then stole my original one. Instead of putting the hoop in from the inside of my nose, he pushed it in from the outside and then squeezed it shut so that the little backing piece was in the front. It's hard to even picture how he did this and I've never seen it done like this by anyone else. I'm not sure where he learned this technique from, but even common sense would dictate that this isn't how a nose ring is supposed to go in. Because it was squeezed together, I couldn't remove the ring and had to pry it open and basically destroy it to change it. Not to mention, removing it irritated my nose. Whatever. After it was done, he gave me a tightly twisted napkin and told me that my original nose stud was inside there, but when I very carefully unrolled it, there was nothing inside. There was no way it could've fallen out with the way this napkin was rolled up. It was a nice $30 Swarovski stud. Both Tattoos By Lou locations suck, spend your money literally anywhere else.

Came here for my fiancée to get a tattoo since Jeff had tattooed me years ago and the colors on my tattoo look just as great today as they did years ago. First impressions are everything Nina greeted us at the door with a smile. She was super friendly and helpful and professional. Today was the 3rd tattoo session for a full sleeve and color was placed. Looks amazing. Have maybe one or two more sessions and look forward to seeing. My fiancée is not from here and specifically comes to South Florida for the tattoo.

This place Is very unprofessional I got some work done . at the time was my 1st tattoo and I had little knowledge of what a artist tools should look like. To start with his gun was messing up A few minutes into the session. I notice His tattoo machine was Rig with some rubber bands Which he would adjust every so often. The tattoo was coming out nothing like what I expected so I cut it short The frustrating part was I checked out few shops in the surrounding area and look at the reviews this place seemed reasonable plus I looked at ever Artist Portfolio and I went with the best one. Long story short I had a very expensive fuckup then I had to seek a real artist to fix I would not recommend this place to anybody not to mention it was very unprofessional. And the girl at the front desk was not friendly ,seemed to be more in a rush to go back outside on her phone and smoke

Came here on a Friday night, desperate to get my nose piercing's corkscrew removed, since it had been causing sores. I made the mistake of having it pierced in Midtown a year ago & hadn't been able to remove it myself. With a lot of patience, MATT carefully removed it & although he could've sold me a gold hoop & a straight stud, he suggested I let it heal & re-pierce it later since I had a keloid starting to appear. I'm so thankful & will definitely be returning. Thank you MATT!!!

My friend and I had a great experience getting piercings here. Rod was very kind and introduced us to Matt, who did our piercings. I got a third lobe piercing and my friend got her nose pierced. My friend (who's not a fan of needles) felt a bit lightheaded right after the nose piercing and Matt handled the situation perfectly. He gave her a lollipop and encouraged her to relax in the chair until she felt 100% better. He didn't rush us at all -- in fact, he wouldn't let us leave until he was sure she was completely fine. He patiently answered all of our questions throughout the process and gave us his contact info in case anything else came up. Both piercings look awesome and we couldn't be happier.

If it weren’t for you we couldn’t do our jobs so well. People like George Docherty are a great example of how well things go when the customer is enthusiastic, polite and so easy to work with.

Not wanting to help my friend look at different designs, not willing to pull down designs, and saying we need to pay just to look. Rude, unhelpful. Really wish I had her name. She had a Native American tattoo on her right thigh and a tiger on the other. I wouldn't recommend going if she's working. My friend ended up leaving upset on her birthday and didn't even get her tattoo. Horrible customer service skills!

My friend and I walked in at 10pm on a Sunday and were greeted by Cara and our tattoo artist Daniel. We walked in wanting a quote with two lines. Daniel was very helpful and answered any questions that my friend and I had. I didn't feel rushed at all and he took his time finding the right font and size for our tattoos. When we asked him questions, he was very knowledgeable and attentive. Pricing was very reasonable, especially considering this is South Beach. We did our research into tattoo parlors surrounding the area and Tattoos by Lou was just a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere. If you're in the area and are looking to get a tattoo, I definitely recommend coming here and having Daniel do your tattoo. I'll post pictures once I take my bandage off.

I highly recommend Tattoos By Lou!My artist was Phil. On top of being a phenomenal artist, he was able to incorporate all of my ideas/wants and took the time to create a design that exceeded my expectations. He has some of the cleanest line work I have seen and focuses on the details. It did not hurt at all. He has a pretty light hand and continued to check in with me on my level of pain. He was also very accommodating, worked around my travel schedule, and gave me a really great price. Phil gave me an awesome tattoo to be proud of! I have been to shops in several other states and Tattoos by Lou is by far the best when it comes to hospitality, cleanliness, and artistic abilities of the artists. Everyone in the shop continually greeted me with a smile and excelled in creating a very comfortable environment. I cannot wait to go back to Tattoos By Lou for my next tattoo!! :)

I was in Miami on vacation in September 2014. I wanted to get some ink to commemorate the good time. I walked in, I believe it was a Sunday or Monday. I got taken in right away, Batman was my tattoo artist. Really nice guy, good conversation. However my tattoo came out pretty shitty. You can tell he really dug into me. It's super scarred and raised. Even the simple line work isn't done that well. Going to my local guy in CT to get it fixed, he was pretty surprised by how shoddy the work is. The tattoo I got is posted in the pictures, it's a black inverted diamond outline. About 2 inches high. I paid $200 which is really steep in my opinion, it should have been about $100 max. I would not recommend this place at all.

My sister decided to finally bite the bullet and get herself inked - long overdue according to her. We worked with Batman, who took about 20 minutes to give my sister a tattoo that she loves! I think the place is a little pricey, but it's your bod we are talking about - I would pay more to have a good artist do his job and give me something awesome than work with an amateur etc. Regardless, my one problem with this place - they have multiple artists who work here - and there always seems to be disconnect between all of them - they all have different prices, which are never consistent, their timings vary etc etc. It makes sense - each artist is different - I get it, but regardless, it is annoying to have to explain yourself to a different person each time you walk in. The care regimen suggested by each artist also differs, which is fairly annoying to me.anyways, my sister's tattoo looks great and she loves it - she also got a piercing here last year, which did great, so all in all thumbs up to the place :)ps - carry cash - they charge a fee for using a credit card, no matter what the amount, which sucks.

Okay, this review is long overdue! Went to Tattoo's by Lou on a recommendation by our lovely waitress Ashley after I harassed her (I mean, politely) asked where she got her shoulder/arm piece done. So glad I did! I knew I wanted a red rose but not your typical "cut-out"/stencil red rose. Did I mention I was late for my appointment? Oops. Wilson gave me a little crap but I still love him :) Kiki was my tat artist and let me tell you, he has such a light hand I almost fell asleep. Then again, they gave me a blowpop and I got to watch Simpsons on TV lol. Even though the style I wanted him to do wasn't his typical work, he still made the tattoo come out looking clean and exactly what I wanted. Please come check out the shop! Super reasonable prices, clean and sterile place. These guys are the sweetest and will take care of you. Tell them "this little Chinese girl sent me" :)

I just got my front helix pierced and very happy with the result, Dave (I believe that was his name) had to do it twice since my ear is very small and it didn't look satisfying (coming from him), but I was very thankful that he explained every step and why he had to do it again. I'm not a big fan of needles, so I almost fainted, but this had nothing to do with him, he was very comforting.The store is super clean as it should be and they take there job utterly serious. I'm back later this year and if I feel like getting another one, this is the place where I get it!

My husband and I went to Miami for our anniversary. I wanted to get a tattoo with my husband's name on it. He also wanted a new tattoo. Because it was South Beach it took us over an hour to get parking (which we ended up paying for) at Miami Ink. We went in and it was nice inside, but we were not treated all that well. In fact, it was like they didn't need us and we were blessed to be there. After waiting about 20 minutes I went up and told they guy what I wanted, something very small. I wasn't happy with his response. So we walked out and googled other tattoo parlors. Lou's came up with positive reviews.Lou's was a short walk away and when we walked in we were greeted by Chief. From the start he was helpful, nice and patient. I wasn't sure what I wanted as far as fonts and wasn't sure where I wanted it. He really took his time to give me options, tell me what areas were most painful and drawing up a cute (and small) tattoo. Chief did the tattoo and it was cute and simple. He was very nice and gave us a price that was half what Miami Ink quoted (and they didn't even know what we wanted yet).My husband was unsure what he wanted so we went to a local bar and googled all kinds of things. We took some pics back to Chief and he gave my husband a very cool tattoo with great detail. The shop was small, but nice. They were concerned with all the tools being sterile which was great. Will was working as well. Both Chief and Will were friendly, helpful and very nice. They felt like friends by the time we left. If we get any more tattoos we will be driving the 3 1/2 hours back to Miami...to Lou's.

Just left South Beach yesterday to return home with AWESOME art from Joe!!! We made a random decision to get tatted while in Miami and upon a random stop in the tattoo shop we met Joe, who said he was willing to work with our ideas! We left and my friend did some research and discovered Joe was a pretty awesome tattoo artist so we returned! And Joe did not disappoint. We gave him our ideas and he made them beautiful. T0 make it even better, while talking with him he is a really great guy who totally makes sure ur comfortable and makes completely sure ur tattoo is AMAZING!! Joe is the best tattoo artist around! A group of my friends and I were in Miami for a Bachlorette Party/Weekend and we just so happened to walk by the shop. Joe was incredibly nice and welcoming. I have never work done and I was pretty nervous, but he was chill and never rushed me, nor my friends, to make decisions on what we wanted. We decided to wait so I could do my research on him and the shop and he was great about it. He simply said "No problem, just let me know whenever you are ready and I'll make sure to work with you and take care of you." Neatless to say, I did my research, fell in love with his work and we all decided to go back and get work done. Joe was true to his word! He took took our ideas and made them his own. Best part, he made sure to take his time both when designing the actual artwork and when he was actually tattooing. I got an original script tattoo that reads "persevere," which he embellished with a heart and I absolutely love it!Joe is truly an artist. The website doesn't do him justice. You have to see his portfolio 1st hand and even the work he's done on some of his coworkers to see just how talented the man is. I appreciate him and the piece he did on me. It's subtle yet elegant and I'm proud to wear it.

I was very pleased with this and i went ahead and tols him i would stop by and get in on the weekend before i leave so i can still hop in the pool/ocean he said thats fine . So Today Sunday i stopped in and was going to get the tat and got quoted at $350!! I was shocked and couldnt believe it and told them it must of been a misunderstanding and i was a little let down so i walked outside and called my girlfriend and told her what happen, as the shop manager Joe was outside smoking a cigarette he over heard me and we started talking he asked me what happen and i told him all this he said hold on and walked inside and starting talking to the artist that was there that day to see if he can do it for me i didnt hear the convo but im pretty sure he denied because he came back up to front and told me its your lucky day!!haha he said im going to tatt you. He said since you came in and you were told a price and you came back and followed up and was told a different price thats not right/solid he said were gonna stand on that first price we told you! I was juiced! He told me he is the number 4 artist in all of Florida and also told me hes from Fremont, California which is by where i live we automatically clicked because he was also in the same exact cars as i was. He was cool as fuck!!!!! He tatted me just what i wanted PERFECT!! Did not rush the tattoo or me out of there i cannot say enough good things about Joe!!! Hes the man foreal cool as shit humble smooth dude. Everytime im in Miami i will def get tatted from him!! JOE my man thanks again brother see you soon!take care! I have 9 piercings and have never had a problem with any of them, I had my nose done here and it's been 5 months of nightmare. The piercer clearly didn't know what he was doing. He told me he could pierce with a hoop instead of a stud and others didn't do that because "they didn't know how". He also told me as I was leaving to "spin the hoop" to help it heal, which I know is also totally wrong (had the same piercing before). I looked him up on the website after I left and he wasn't even on it-- not sure why they were letting a rando amateur pierce unsupervised. I finally had it removed today and it turns out I didn't even have a piercing because he put it in incorrectly (only a third of the metal had gone all the way through my nose). Super irresponsible of the business owners. I've had a swollen, painful face for 5 months.RESPONSE TO OWNER:Hey Ken. I did call you guys. I was blown off and told to just go to another piercing shop (I live in NY and was visiting Miami).

$10 to change my old nose ring out, $15 for a plain open silver nose hoop. 25 total for this garbage. The piercer f***ed up putting in the new nose ring and then stole my original one. Instead of putting the hoop in from the inside of my nose, he pushed it in from the outside and then squeezed it shut so that the little backing piece was in the front. It's hard to even picture how he did this and I've never seen it done like this by anyone else. I'm not sure where he learned this technique from, but even common sense would dictate that this isn't how a nose ring is supposed to go in. Because it was squeezed together, I couldn't remove the ring and had to pry it open and basically destroy it to change it. Not to mention, removing it irritated my nose. Whatever. After it was done, he gave me a tightly twisted napkin and told me that my original nose stud was inside there, but when I very carefully unrolled it, there was nothing inside. There was no way it could've fallen out with the way this napkin was rolled up. It was a nice $30 Swarovski stud. Both Tattoos By Lou locations suck, spend your money literally anywhere else.

First impressions are everything Nina greeted us at the door with a smile. She was super friendly and helpful and professional. Today was the 3rd tattoo session for a full sleeve and color was placed. Looks amazing. Have maybe one or two more sessions and look forward to seeing. My fiancée is not from here and specifically comes to South Florida for the tattoo.

To start with his gun was messing up A few minutes into the session. I notice His tattoo machine was Rig with some rubber bands Which he would adjust every so often. The tattoo was coming out nothing like what I expected so I cut it short The frustrating part was I checked out few shops in the surrounding area and look at the reviews this place seemed reasonable plus I looked at ever Artist Portfolio and I went with the best one. Long story short I had a very expensive fuckup then I had to seek a real artist to fix I would not recommend this place to anybody not to mention it was very unprofessional. And the girl at the front desk was not friendly ,seemed to be more in a rush to go back outside on her phone and smoke

I made the mistake of having it pierced in Midtown a year ago & hadn't been able to remove it myself. With a lot of patience, MATT carefully removed it & although he could've sold me a gold hoop & a straight stud, he suggested I let it heal & re-pierce it later since I had a keloid starting to appear. I'm so thankful & will definitely be returning. Thank you MATT!!!

My friend and I had a great experience getting piercings here. Rod was very kind and introduced us to Matt, who did our piercings. I got a third lobe piercing and my friend got her nose pierced. My friend (who's not a fan of needles) felt a bit lightheaded right after the nose piercing and Matt handled the situation perfectly. He gave her a lollipop and encouraged her to relax in the chair until she felt 100% better. He didn't rush us at all -- in fact, he wouldn't let us leave until he was sure she was completely fine. He patiently answered all of our questions throughout the process and gave us his contact info in case anything else came up. Both piercings look awesome and we couldn't be happier.

After reading these awesome reviews I have to say that the tattooist is only half of the equation. It’s the wonderful clients that make the tattoo experience successful as well. If it weren’t for you we couldn’t do our jobs so well. People like George Docherty are a great example of how well things go when the customer is enthusiastic, polite and so easy to work with.

Rudest experience ever. Went here with a friend for her birthday to get her first tattoo and the girl receptionist was treating us so badly. Not wanting to help my friend look at different designs, not willing to pull down designs, and saying we need to pay just to look. Rude, unhelpful. Really wish I had her name. She had a Native American tattoo on her right thigh and a tiger on the other. I wouldn't recommend going if she's working. My friend ended up leaving upset on her birthday and didn't even get her tattoo. Horrible customer service skills!

My friend and I walked in at 10pm on a Sunday and were greeted by Cara and our tattoo artist Daniel. We walked in wanting a quote with two lines. Daniel was very helpful and answered any questions that my friend and I had. I didn't feel rushed at all and he took his time finding the right font and size for our tattoos. When we asked him questions, he was very knowledgeable and attentive. Pricing was very reasonable, especially considering this is South Beach. We did our research into tattoo parlors surrounding the area and Tattoos by Lou was just a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere. If you're in the area and are looking to get a tattoo, I definitely recommend coming here and having Daniel do your tattoo. I'll post pictures once I take my bandage off.

I highly recommend Tattoos By Lou!My artist was Phil. On top of being a phenomenal artist, he was able to incorporate all of my ideas/wants and took the time to create a design that exceeded my expectations. He has some of the cleanest line work I have seen and focuses on the details. It did not hurt at all. He has a pretty light hand and continued to check in with me on my level of pain. He was also very accommodating, worked around my travel schedule, and gave me a really great price. Phil gave me an awesome tattoo to be proud of! I have been to shops in several other states and Tattoos by Lou is by far the best when it comes to hospitality, cleanliness, and artistic abilities of the artists. Everyone in the shop continually greeted me with a smile and excelled in creating a very comfortable environment. I cannot wait to go back to Tattoos By Lou for my next tattoo!! :)

I was in Miami on vacation in September 2014. I wanted to get some ink to commemorate the good time. I walked in, I believe it was a Sunday or Monday. I got taken in right away, Batman was my tattoo artist. Really nice guy, good conversation. However my tattoo came out pretty shitty. You can tell he really dug into me. It's super scarred and raised. Even the simple line work isn't done that well. Going to my local guy in CT to get it fixed, he was pretty surprised by how shoddy the work is. The tattoo I got is posted in the pictures, it's a black inverted diamond outline. About 2 inches high. I paid $200 which is really steep in my opinion, it should have been about $100 max. I would not recommend this place at all.

My sister decided to finally bite the bullet and get herself inked - long overdue according to her. We worked with Batman, who took about 20 minutes to give my sister a tattoo that she loves! I think the place is a little pricey, but it's your bod we are talking about - I would pay more to have a good artist do his job and give me something awesome than work with an amateur etc. Regardless, my one problem with this place - they have multiple artists who work here - and there always seems to be disconnect between all of them - they all have different prices, which are never consistent, their timings vary etc etc. It makes sense - each artist is different - I get it, but regardless, it is annoying to have to explain yourself to a different person each time you walk in. The care regimen suggested by each artist also differs, which is fairly annoying to me.anyways, my sister's tattoo looks great and she loves it - she also got a piercing here last year, which did great, so all in all thumbs up to the place :)ps - carry cash - they charge a fee for using a credit card, no matter what the amount, which sucks.

Okay, this review is long overdue! Went to Tattoo's by Lou on a recommendation by our lovely waitress Ashley after I harassed her (I mean, politely) asked where she got her shoulder/arm piece done. So glad I did! I knew I wanted a red rose but not your typical "cut-out"/stencil red rose. Did I mention I was late for my appointment? Oops. Wilson gave me a little crap but I still love him :) Kiki was my tat artist and let me tell you, he has such a light hand I almost fell asleep. Then again, they gave me a blowpop and I got to watch Simpsons on TV lol. Even though the style I wanted him to do wasn't his typical work, he still made the tattoo come out looking clean and exactly what I wanted. Please come check out the shop! Super reasonable prices, clean and sterile place. These guys are the sweetest and will take care of you. Tell them "this little Chinese girl sent me" :)

I just got my front helix pierced and very happy with the result, Dave (I believe that was his name) had to do it twice since my ear is very small and it didn't look satisfying (coming from him), but I was very thankful that he explained every step and why he had to do it again. I'm not a big fan of needles, so I almost fainted, but this had nothing to do with him, he was very comforting.The store is super clean as it should be and they take there job utterly serious. I'm back later this year and if I feel like getting another one, this is the place where I get it!

My husband and I went to Miami for our anniversary. I wanted to get a tattoo with my husband's name on it. He also wanted a new tattoo. Because it was South Beach it took us over an hour to get parking (which we ended up paying for) at Miami Ink. We went in and it was nice inside, but we were not treated all that well. In fact, it was like they didn't need us and we were blessed to be there. After waiting about 20 minutes I went up and told they guy what I wanted, something very small. I wasn't happy with his response. So we walked out and googled other tattoo parlors. Lou's came up with positive reviews.Lou's was a short walk away and when we walked in we were greeted by Chief. From the start he was helpful, nice and patient. I wasn't sure what I wanted as far as fonts and wasn't sure where I wanted it. He really took his time to give me options, tell me what areas were most painful and drawing up a cute (and small) tattoo. Chief did the tattoo and it was cute and simple. He was very nice and gave us a price that was half what Miami Ink quoted (and they didn't even know what we wanted yet).My husband was unsure what he wanted so we went to a local bar and googled all kinds of things. We took some pics back to Chief and he gave my husband a very cool tattoo with great detail. The shop was small, but nice. They were concerned with all the tools being sterile which was great. Will was working as well. Both Chief and Will were friendly, helpful and very nice. They felt like friends by the time we left. If we get any more tattoos we will be driving the 3 1/2 hours back to Miami...to Lou's.
