I did my research, and found Cory on instagram and absolutely loved his work. I knew i wanted something Traditional American. I contacted Cory via email about getting a tattoo, he responded promptly. Within a couple of days he had it drawn up, the drawing was exactly what I wanted, amazing! This was my first tattoo, and I felt very welcome and relaxed. The shop is very clean, and Cory explained everything he was doing, which is very comforting being my first tattoo. Black Swan is an amazing shop with stellar artists. It has a great aesthetic inside which makes you feel comfortable and the shop is even wheelchair accessible! I saw Cory’s work on Instagram and had to have some. I live in Connecticut but frequently travel to the area. I was a little worried that an appointment wasn’t able to be coordinated being so far away. Cory made it happen for me. I told him what I wanted, and he assured me that he’d draw it up and have it ready when I arrived. I got in, was blown away by the drawing, and he worked fast at getting it done. My wife and I loved the piece so much, she wanted one, and Cory was more than accommodating. We all took a lunch break, and when we got back to the shop, he already had her tattoo drawn up. Hers came out beautiful as well. I’m hoping to stop in every time I visit. The whole staff was welcoming and friendly. I witnessed another artist, (Phil I believe) prepping a client for her first tattoo, and his personality and humor seemed like a perfect way to ease the clients nerves. I've been in this shop twice despite living within walking distance for years(I simply have a more preferred shop, nothing personal). My first time I got a Harry Potter tattoo for Friday the 13th which I absolutely love and more recently I got a new piercing. This shop is very clean, friendly and personable. Even during the Friday the 13th sale that they had going I didn't feel resented, I didn't get an ounce of attitude, if my artist(whose name I don't remember) was tired by the time he did mine I had no idea. It was a bit of a wait(to be expected) but I was out in under 10 minutes. For my piercing it was Jake who did it who was very gentle(with the exception of sticking a needle through my skin) and answered all my questions and those of my friend, who has the same piercing. Phil is great! We came in yesterday we had an idea and he drew up mine and my grandpa's tattoo. He was fast but most importantly it was CLEAN!!!! They're super friendly! I will always use him! I'm not from here but come down once a year so I'll make that part of my yearly visit!! Read Less

I made an appointment this past Tuesday to get a piercing done at 7:30pm on Thursday. Showed up 10 minutes early to an empty shop, all the lights turned off, and the door locked. Their hours said they close at 8pm on Thursdays. Look like they decided to close early even with an appointment on the books. Ridiculous. Read Less

My Mother her friend and myself called and asked if they had time for 3 simple tattoo's on 5/10/17 and were told we could get them done. Upon going in we talked with the artists there and described what we wanted.(Props to the artist that had to draw the backside of an elephant haha) I myself got a D20(20 sided dice) tattoo on my upper arm from Kris, I told him it was my first tattoo and I wanted something simple that I could add to later if I decided I could handle getting another tattoo. He reassured me and quickly got started. I think it was a total of 35 minutes and my tattoo was done. So major thumbs to all the artists that helped us out that day. My daughter was merely 3 months old when my ribs were done to memorialize that final chapter of my life. What a great experience. Phil did my tattoo as well as my best friends and although we were late he greeted us with a smile and stayed past closing time to make sure everything was perfect. We were joking and laughing and we really had a wonderful time. It was my first tattoo and he walked me through the whole thing and kept telling me how great I was doing. I took my daughter here to have her ears pierced - it's her birthday and she's turning six. Jake was our piercer and I cannot say enough good things about how awesome he was. He was unbelievably patient and kind with my daughter who, despite wanting to get her ears pierced, took quite some time to work up the courage once we were there.
