My husband and I both got work done here and are very impressed. Upon walking in the shop the artwork itself is stunning and the artists are amazing. We both have a lot of work already I got an awful nautical star on my wrist years ago and I got it covered with a lotus and I'm absolutely in love with it. My husband got a much larger piece on his bicep that turned out better than I could have imagined. We would fly here just to get more work done!!! 5 stars all the way. Read Less

Went in for a simple "Peas & Carrots" tattoo with my bride of 9 years and came out with a big giggly smile on our faces. Brandon did mine and Anthony took on my wife and they were extremely professional. The establishment is super-clean and well maintained. You can tell that pride is taken in everyone's work. I've had 2 decent sized pieces done by Jason at south of heaven and the experience both times was beyond exceptional. I made appointments and as soon as I got there my session started no wait! The artist there are talkative informational and very friendly. They take their time to make sure what they draw up is exactly what you want and if you ask for them to redo it or modify it they never roll their eyes or give you a (omg get over it) attitude. I got my 1st tattoo back in February by Anthony. He did a good job and really listened to what I wanted. Pictures were shared all over the internet in the LGBT community with awesome reviews. So, when I decided to get a back piece, the first place I went is here to talk to Anthony. I brought a sketch that I had done with the general idea of what I wanted and we talked it through and he was able to draw up a pretty close facsimile of what I wanted. After talking about it he was able to get precisely what I wanted with the coloring and everything. So far I am very happy with it. It's a little more than half done and I will be returning in about two weeks to finish it.I would also like to point out that I am transgender and everybody at the shop was more than excepting and accommodating. It's a wonderfully laid-back atmosphere at the shop and everybody just seems like old friends talking about whatever happens to come up at the time. If there was an option to give no stars I would've given it. My girlfriend and I were on vacation in the Keys and wanted to get a spontaneous tattoo, awesome right? Wrong. So we stop by this place and ask if there were any artists available. The guy at the front said he had someone coming in and that another artist would be in at 2. He said we had to put down a $50 deposit to guarantee that she would get it done in case we should cancel, which is understandable. I got a bad vibe from this guy from the jump. Anyway we left around 11 and returned at 1:30p. First thing that upset me was that he didn't even acknowledge us, then he starts bitching about some personal matter to his coworker and gets on his phone to complain to his bank right in front of us. It's a little before 2, and he still hasn't acknowledged us and starts complaining about work and customers "stupid requests" for tattoos. He mentioned some lady who wanted a dolphin tattoo. Which made me uncomfortable. What if I wanted a dolphin tattoo? So it's 2' o clock and he finally strolls on over to us to  hand my girl some paperwork to fill out, then proceeds to whine about his life and decides that it's the perfect time to take a smoke break during my girlfriend's appointment window. He was completely oblivious to his lack of customer service. While he's smoking outside, the phone rings and, get this, you ready? He asks my girl to get the phone for him!!! She was like I'm not getting the phone for you. What makes it worse is that I found out that his coworker that he was bitching to was actually the manager. By far, the WORST customer service I have ever received. Go figure he messed up my girls tattoo as well. The writing was upside down because he didn't take the time to ask her if she liked the placement. The only plus side was the guy, JASON, who did my tattoo. He was the only person in that building with common sense and consideration for his customers. He did an awesome job on my tattoo. THANKS man. Your coworkers are idiots though. Hopefully you make a killing in that spot because there's no competition. Read Less
