This is the most professional shop I have ever been in. Synthia is the most professional, educated, experienced, and helpful piercer. She has a ton of experience and it shows in her work. She's very helpful and descriptive when showing you how to clean your piercing. She's very sweet, considerate, and very easy to be comfortable around. She was also extremely careful and made sure I knew everything by the time I walked out of the shop. I can't tell you how comfortable and welcoming she was. As a little backstory, im a bigger girl. I wanted my nipples done for a very long time, but was scared to let anyone see my body. Synthia was exceptionally careful, considerate, calming, professional, and sweet. I never thought I would be able to be this comfortable with someone in a shop. I was proven very wrong. Between her amazing attitude, her experience, and her ability to be fast and effective, she is hands down the best piercer in Jacksonville, and in my opinion, the country. She's phenomenal. A friend and I came together to have a piercing by Synthia and it was a great experience! She clearly has years of piercing under her belt and did a great job showing that everything was properly cleaned and made sure we knew how to keep our new piercings clean as well. Just came in to get my septum piercing and was super excited. Came in and he didn’t even introduce himself but he proceeded to do my piercing. He pierced it the FIRST time and took the needle out while trying to put the jewelry through and then started trying to shove it through blaming me for moving, takes the jewelry out and proceeded to use the SAME needle AGAIN to try and pierce my nose a SECOND time once again not being able to get the jewelry through while then saying “ my nose isn’t made for a septum piercing”. My daughter wanted her nostril pierced for her 18th birthday and we chose Synthia at Mystic Koi on the recommendation of many friends and acquaintances. The place is lovely inside, with Asian inspired decorations and incense. We were greeted warmly by everyone we met. Paperwork was quick and we were seen promptly. (Note, we were walk-ins but they had just opened.)Synthia is definitely no-nonsense about her craft. She explained everything as she went and demonstrated cleanliness as well. This place looks and feels amazing (light interior, smells good, relaxing music in the background). Everyone smiled and I felt welcome as a walk-in. My piercer was super polite and knowledgeable (I was a bit nervous and I did not remember his name). The procedure was done in compliance with aseptic technique and I was given a pamphlet on how to care for my piercing at home (I was educated by my piercer but I was too nervous to remember what we talked about - so that pamphlet was a tremendous help). Devin is a true artist. I had a small sun/moon tattoo on my bicep and he asked if he could do something bigger around it while keeping the theme. The piece of art he created was amazing! I went in to get my nose pierced. The atmosphere of the shop was serene and had a very "open" feeling! Everyone was nice! Synthia did my piercing.
