I went this this past Friday the 17th got a tattoo that I always wanted for years. I got it done by Tom and he did a shitty job. I am upset that I wasted my money to get this tattoo. The lines are not straight the backdrop in not even and the shading is lighter then other places and it is incomplete. I will recommend going somewhere else. Don't make this place your last resort for a great art work to come out shitty. Fat Kat should close it doors or get Artists that love there art work and what they do. I came for a Friday the 13th tattoo. I waited for almost two hours, but because of the deal and that I could do 2 at once, it was well worth it. I had Dwayne and he was quick, accurate, and cool to talk to. The ladies working the front were very nice and helpful, even though it was pretty crowded at times. Ed helped me get my diath I've been waiting a good while to get. He made sure it was quick painless and talked me through each step. Basically no blood which was awesome as I'm prone to bleed after a piercing. He's currently working on a canvas concept I sketched up. I went in to inquire about the Daith piercing and inform myself on all of the pricing,care and jewelry options I had called earlier in the day and the girl who helped me over the phone (Kailey) was very nice and helpful but I still wanted to go in and see everything that was offered for this piercing when I got there I was greeted and helped by Haley she was extremely sweet and knowledgeable about the questions I had,originally I wanted to wait to get both ears pierced but she informed me that it would be best to do one and then wait to come back in and do the other because she wanted to avoid any pain or discomfort caused by 2 piercings so I went ahead and got my Right Daith pierced and Haley was wonderful she was as quick as possible and Extremely gentle especially factoring in the fact that this area is not easy to work with in my opinion that is but she was Awesome in all aspects of her job and also to my surprise it did not even hurt at all I was prepared for pain and zip zilch nada no pain whatsoever also I noticed afterward I didn't have a headache cause I definitely had one prior and this is exactly why I researched and decided to get Daith piercing. Came here a few weeks ago for a piercing problem that another piercing place had messed up. The lady that had fixed the issue was really nice, very professional and let me keep the spare ends of the piercings which I've never met any piercing place or person that would do that. I came here for a Friday the 13 tattoo, not my first tattoo. But I wanted to get a tat with my sister. It was a long wait as you know on these events. And I understand it's been a hectic day... but some need help on their customer service. It wasn't like I was mean or anything like that. I was sitting in my car and was waiting to be called waited for 3 hours. They call my friends name and I said "right here" and she was just walking towards the worker. not even 1 min she reply's "well you need to be right here" . I understand your tired,  but you honestly don't need to be so rude. We literally were a door down... and I would have been by the door if I were able to breathe through the cigarette smoke everyone was smoking. Sorry my asthma was kicking in. But the reason I'm giving them 4 stars is to the guy with the beard I wish I was able to get your name. I appreciate your customer service even though you worked 12 plus hours. This place is awesome!! I booked an appointment online about two weeks before our trip and was so glad I did because I was able to surprise my husband with getting inked on our honeymoon! Edwin was our artist and he did such a wonderful job! We couldn’t be more thankful! I also got my cartilage repierced by Hailey and loved her as well! I came here because the previous Artist I found downtown Jax became more and more sketchy. I’m so excited I found Fat Kat because Mike did my piece and it turned out AMAZING! He even took the time to sketch it up for me and didn’t ask for a deposit which the other guy refused to even do a sketch and then bailing on my appointment I waited almost a month for because he was sick and didn’t respond to rescheduling...so I found Mike at Fat Kat. The best piercing experience ever! Edwin made me feel so comfortable about my nostril piercing and talked to me like I was one of his buddies. I loved that! He was so chill and down to earth, it made everything so much more smoother. It was quick and over in no time. He took his time and I didn't feel rushed. His interpretation of my vision was so much more than i could have hoped for. He was amazing. Came here a few months ago for my first tattoo. Shaking with nerves, but the team here helped me calm down by treating me like a tattoo pro. They never once talked down to me or treated me like a child. They asked the questions they needed to ask, put together my artwork, and got to work! Very professional, clean establishment. After searching online for a competent female artist in the area, I came across Ashley's profile and loved what  I saw. I had gotten a bad tattoo done elsewhere a couple weeks prior and wanted it fixed up as best as possible. Ashley not only fulfilled my expectations, she far exceeded them! So this was my first tat and first time is Jacksonville. My friend googled best tatt shops and we decided on Fat Kat. This shop was so incredibly welcoming and showed superb customer service. We were helped immediately and the artists were excellent. They even stayed a little later past closing time to do my friend's tattoo. I thoroughly enjoyed my first time getting a tattoo here. This place is awesome! A buddy and I were in town for just a few days and wanted tattoos. We had looked at several shops in the JAX area and decided on Fat Kat because of their hours (they are open all the time). Long story short we got right in and within minutes were getting our tats! The shop is clean and everyone is friendly and professional.  Loren did an amazing job on my new tat and even touched up an old one I wasn't too happy with (basically she redid it and basically for free) and now I love it.  She chatted with me like we were old friends which just made it that much more of an awesome experience. Walked in and was immediately greeted by Tom, given my paper work to fill out, and told there was a bit of a wait, which was fine because I wanted to pick out jewelry anyway. But I had some questions about the jewelry due to allergies and other things. One of the female employees spent the whole time I was waiting (about 20 minutes) standing right in front of the display case talking to what appeared to be a friend of hers, and her friends kid. So I couldn't get to the case to see the jewelry. And when I finally did, I had a ton of questions; but Tom was piercing and that girl was too busy chattering and giving the kid a tour to ask me if I needed any help. Kinda shitty when I'm spending 100$ on a piercing. Tom was great and I'm happy with my piercing. That's what's saving the review from 1 star. Also fairly small selection of jewelry depending on what piercing you're looking for. But as far as nipples, not a big selection. Read Less

Edwin made the experience of getting my first tattoo terrifying.  He said rude comments, and even made fun of my tattoo within seconds after getting it... really made me excited to have it permanently on my body forever :-)  would not recommend going to see him. Just got my tattoo done today. Brought in what I wanted, and Danny made a wonderful sketch exactly how I pictured it. Together we discussed my ideas on expanding it, along with another wonderful lady working that day (I'm sorry I forgot your name!) and they gave their honest opinions and I'm more than happy with what we decided on. The next day I came in and Loren was extremely understanding and professional. Made me feel completely at home. What I thought would be an hour long session was perfectly done in about 20 minutes tops. She's awesome. The place is top notch hygienic, cozy, and wonderfully priced. Found them on here and read all of the amazing reviews so I decided to come in here to get a tattoo. I gave them my design that I wanted but decided to see what they had an idea for and the guy drew something up for me. It looked really cool and I decided to get it. The tattoo itself took about 10 to 15 minutes to get applied. The whole experience took about an hour and a half as I came in when 2 other people were getting tattooed. If I ever want any other tattoos I will definitely be coming back. They had really good prices and everyone was really nice. Read Less

Felt like tagging alone while a friend got some ink. She's turning 30 and having a mid life crisis and just needed to get a butterfly tattoo (lots or sarcasm but she really got that tattoo). Walking in I hear some screaming?! I was ready to turn and leave - but later learned someone was getting her spine tatted and they were doing shading. Not sure why they didn't just gag her and keep it moving?Friend walked in with the thought of butterfly tat, but after some input from artist she was able to customize it to a very unique tat that she's just overcome with happiness about...(I thought it was a pretty butterfly - but still a butterfly). And since there was time - my other friend decided to get another piercing. She'll probably be back for more durma? (under the skin piercings). I'll be back to watch that one too. (None for me.)
