Was in town for work and decided I needed some ink therapy. Visited 8th day and discussed some designs with Jay. He was honest and actually gave his thoughts and opinions which I appreciated. I had the best tattoo experience in my life here in December 2017!  Boyfriend and I just went to Riverside Arts Festival and stopped in for a drink in 5 Points.  I've been wanting another  tattoo but experienced some frustrating interactions with tattoo artists not wanting to give me the tattoo I wanted (lower back tattoo in henna color) and wanting to charge something ridiculous!  I just stepped into 8th day for a consultation and met with Tim Herbert who immediately made me feel very comfortable and offered to do my tattoo for a very reasonable fee.  It was done in less than an hour and within 2 days has healed so quickly as if the tattoo had been over 2 weeks old!!  Thank you so much Tim!! Went here last June for my 1st tattoo after hearing nothing but good things and I have to say that as far as 1st tattoo experiences go, it couldn't have gone better. Graham was great and took my ideas and made them into a design that I absolutely love. If Six Stars were available I would give 6.... Words can't describe the attention to detail of Graham and Tim at 8th Day Tattoo.. Their artistic talent is best in Jacksonville...     Graham has done 3 of my 4 Tattoos and can tell you because of his talent, you will have to wait several weeks for a spot, but his specialty in portraits and realism is well worth the wait..    Tim has done both of my daughters Tattoos and is equally as talented...      I greatly recommend then for all your tattoo needs... This is by the far the best studio in town. I have had 4 sessions on my back with Graham and could not be more pleased! Working with Graham, the owner, has been the best tattoo experience I've ever had. He is very tentative to his client's needs and comfort level as he goes out of his way to make your session a pleasurable one. I look forward to many other tattoo projects in the future with him! Graham is a great artist his shop is top notch. But i needed to reschedule and he goes on about how ive cost him money amd this is his living. Basically making the client feel terrible and honeslty unsafe to get tattooed on a later date by him. All im saying is there are better artist in jacksonville that wont treat you like a 2 year old. Also trys to tell me i dont know how it works that its like picking my check up and it being short. Im speakong for most of us when i say most people dont make 120 an hour so we can probally tell him more about being short on our paychecks Read Less

I didn't have any modifications done here, but I sent off a message on their website which Tim answered. I was inquiring about vegan inks in various local tattoo shops, and he was helpful and pleasant, so I intended on coming here for my next tattoo. When I did come by with a friend, he was working on a customer in the back [I have to say, I hate the layout of the store], so another guy talked to me. What I wanted was three lines of script on the side of my ribs. No fluff, no extra details, just the words. He was polite, but he tried to convince me that "since the lines are straight, they won't look good on the ribs, since they're curved," and that putting the quote on a scroll would look better. Even if he was right, the scroll wouldn't do ANYTHING to help the appearance of my tattoo. He didn't have vegan-safe supplies so he told me to go to Walgreens and pick up a vegan-safe lubricant and he'd knock that off the price. I didn't come back. I knew what I wanted for a year before I came in, and I'm not going to be told that it isn't good enough. A few months ago, I got part of it done, and it looks beautiful without the scroll. HORRIBLE! Only one artist was working, the rest were hiding out in the back, making the LINE of customers wait. Numerous people left before even talking to an artist. I decided to wait it out, only to speak an artist who told me to come back in 45 minutes while he drew it up my tattoo. WAITED. When I came back I was shuffled to another less qualified artist, who didn't even introduce himself or bother to ask my name. Then had to wait ANOTHER 30 minutes. In the end I wasn't thrilled with his portfolio or attitude so I left. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE and HORRIBLE ATTITUDES!!! Read Less

I went to Graham at 8th day for my flames on my forearm many years ago and was so impressed with his professionalism that I commissioned him to do another peice I had drawn up when I apprenticed in Atlanta. I am a tattooist too, and when he lost my original peice of artwork it pissed me off so bad that he didn't even apologize that I went somewhere else. I have since got a backpeice and another half sleeve. He is an awesome artist and I would love to give him 5 stars but his lack of personal concern for my art makes him just another talented tattooist with no class. Read Less

Asked Graham to incorporate an oriental design around a dragon that I had done by another studio. He was able to look through a Tibetan art book and we both settled on a design that is very colorful and vibrant. Great talent!!! I will definitely be coming back for more work. Read Less
