I've gotten six tattoos here and a piercing by Marc. I first came in as a walk in two years ago, with a basic idea and image that I wanted. Marc took the basis of the idea and re-drew it to make it unique and his own. After how beautiful it came out I've been throwing him ideas here and there and just letting him do this thing to see what his mind comes up with and I've never been less than amazed at how beautiful the drawings come out. He's really delicate and thorough with the stencil placing and makes sure you're 100% comfortable and happy with what your about to get tattooed. He takes his time and walks you through the process. He always answers any questions thoughtfully, and is just an all around extremely down to earth and kind person. All the other guys at the shop are phenomenal at what they do as well. I know many people that have had each of them tattoo them and they all have come out extremely detailed and well done too. I've gotten tattooed at other shops but none compare to Florida Velvet or Marc. Just got a custom tattoo by Kenny, who was able to create something beautiful for me from a recent tragedy. My Daddy, who has been my best friend all my life, my other "pea" in my pod, passed away on October 6, 2017 from injuries sustained in a horrible motorcycle crash. Kenny was very gentle as he tattooed a vivid pea pod with my father's initials tangled within vines growing out of the pod on my left wrist. He then placed the words "Adhere to your purpose" on the outer side of my forearm/wrist. This is the beginning of an Abraham Lincoln quote that my Daddy lived by and it's had a very special meaning to me for years, but especially now. This is a great shop! Easily one of the best ones I've ever been too! Kenny was a real stand up dude while I was there with a friend getting work done. The atmosphere is awesome the staff sat there and joked with us and made a 2.5 hour session feel like a breeze, on top of that the piece came out amazing. I'll be back for more work at this shop. Went in yesterday right after they opened up and spoke to Marc about this nautical tattoo I wanted to do on my leg. He and I discussed for several minutes and agreed to let him custom design the nautical piece with the same ideas. Went in five hours later and true to his word had this great design created. The piece took two hours and he was very patient with me because certain spots were making my leg twitch. With the final product and cost I can say I got a great bargain from an excellent artist. My first visit to FV was in Jan for the Friday the 13th tattoos and Kenny did two little gems on my arm. I returned in March and Marc did an awesome job putting a twist on something I found for inspiration online. My most recent visit was this week and Gavin was able to get me in. I wanted to expand an older tattoo and add more details to it and with just a couple of references he just started drawing the sketch freehand. I just recently went to this lovely shop for the first time (it was recommended by a friend who has been multiple times) and had a complete positive experience with Marc. He was super nice and took my idea and turned it into something that was better than what I pictured in my head. He even called me a few hours before my appointment time to touch base and go over what I wanted again. When I got there to get my tattoo, he made sure I was comfortable, and even though it was hard for me to keep my leg still for two hours the end product is amazing. I had my flower half sleeve done by Will a little over a year ago. He free handed on my arm and it's amazing. I wanted to get our colored in sooner but due to being pregnant and not having the money to get it finished yet I haven't been able to go back. Hopefully I will be getting it colored in soon!!! I had this random idea to get a helix piercing in my upper ear lobe. Normally I take a good year or two to think about what I want to do before I do it but on this day I decided to just go for it! I was riding up Beach Boulevard and headed to my daughter's soccer game and decided to stop by this tattoo shop tucked away to my left. The first thing I noticed was the ambient decor and then there was a feeling of calm and professionalism. Marc greeted me and made me feel welcome...d and gave me the pricing. As I proceeded to leave and head to my daughter's soccer game I stopped by one or two more tattoo shops on my way there. After the game and dropping her off at home I decided to go for it even though this shop had the higher price, I felt the most comfortable to spend my money there. I have a son who is an adult who accompanied me and while we were there to get my piercing, my son noticed another guy who had two customers he tattooed. My son really liked his work and we will be returning soon to get tattoo work done there as well. I have had a couple of very poor house tattoos and one tattoo from another shop before my sister introduced me to Florida velvet and I have been getting my tattoos there ever since. I like mark the best hes the one I've gone to for most of mine however I've gotten a tattoo from everybody in the shop. It's a great experience going in very welcoming and you can have fun and joke around . Having recently moved from Los Angeles and been to a few of the best tattoo parlor's there, we were anxious to try this place.  Boy, I am glad that we did.  Amazing artists.Kenny, Mark and Will...you can't go wrong with any of those guys.  Both Kenny and Mark have done work on me and I was happy each time.  Will just did an amazing piece on my hubs and it's absolutely kick a$$.  Stellar vibe, good energy, cool guys and great work.  As far as pricing, I'm not sure if it's expensive or not, relatively speaking.  But, we have definitely found our new place. These guys are fantastic. The artwork they create on your body is a cut above the rest. Kenny has done so many tattoos for friends and family that I've recommended to him and all of them tell me how they love their tattoos. Will's work is also phenomenal and unique.
