Wow, I can't say enough great things about Josh. This was my third tattoo (and third tattoo parlor) and the experience was a cut above the rest. Josh took his time drawing out my idea and came up with something even more beautiful than what I originally had in mind. I loved it so much that I got it done in black ink instead of in white like I was originally thinking! He put AMAZING detail into the tattoo and every little line is done perfectly and intricately. I 100% recommend this place. I got my first tattoo ever with Josh at Valkyrie's Tattoo. Let me just start by saying that this shop provides a friendly and confident environment to put some artwork on your body. Josh walked me through the whole process and answered all my questions and concerns; before, during and after my tattoo was done. Josh is very talented and really knows what he is doing. He was patient with my questions, redid parts of the design that I wasn't too sure about and put a piece on my left arm that I can't stop looking at. Most importantly, he couldn't stress more the fact that it was MY TATTOO, and that what he was going to put on my arm had to be a piece that I absolutely love. I absolutely love my new tattoo. I was tattooed by Josh today and it looks awesome! I went in a few days ago to make an appointment and had a reference photo to give the artist an idea of what I wanted. Josh really digged the idea but said he'd make it more realistic and it would look A LOT better then the photo I had. He did not disappoint. The design is great and the colors are very vibrant. He completely understood the vision I had for this piece. Everyone at the shop was very friendly and the shop has great energy. I've been tattooed quite a bit and feel that Josh was very fair with the pricing of my piece. I highly recommend this shop!!! Update: I've had my tattoo a little over a year and it looks pretty awful. When it healed it got pretty muddy looking. I haven't had a chance to go back in and talk to Josh about it. I still like the shop, but Josh was late and I needed to get to work so the tattoo was rushed and I think that is part of why my tattoo looks the way it does. I've since been tattooed at another shop in town and feel a lot more comfortable going to them for all my future ink.Read Less

I had a fantastic experience from start to finish. Josh went above and beyond to make the scheduling work & to design the tattoo exactly as I wanted it. The entire time I was there I felt comfortable (not the 'forgotten' or 'in the way' feeling you get a lot of places). Both of my tattoos turned out perfectly - the detail work is right on point, which I can't say about tattoos I've had in the past. This was my first experience with Valkyrie's. I went because a good friend recommended them (and the tattoos she had done there are gorgeous), and I look forward to have more tattoos done there in the future. Jesus did a wonderful job on my tattoo. Took the time to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. His shading work is excellent. I get many compliments and think it turned out beautifully. He was very pleasant to work with. Josh tattooed my husband also and is an amazing artist. I highly recommend Valkyries and would certainly have Jesus do any of my future tattooing. I went to Valkyries Tattoo this past weekend to get a daith piercing. I walked in on Saturday without an appointment. I was very impressed with the very clean shop and the staff was very helpful and awesome. I was in and out in 45 minutes. The staff was excellent in preparing me for the piercing. They checked out both my ears to make sure I was a good candidate for the piercing (not everyone's ears are suited for this type of piercing). They helped me decide on which ear to pierce - which ear did I use to talk on the phone, did I sleep on my side (things I didn't even think of but very important!) Luckily for me I talk on the phone and sleep on the same side so it made my decision easy. They also warned me that I would most likely not be able to use ear buds again with this piercing (I was again thankful for this info, since it was something I hadn't thought about). Unfortunately, I can't remember the name of the guy who actually did the piercing but he was great. Explained the procedure before doing anything, inked my ear to make sure I was happy with the placement and was very gentle when piercing my cartilage. He also took time to go over the aftercare and products he recommended for cleaning and the healing process (I have had other body piercing in the past and they just handed me a piece of paper, not even offering to go over it with me). I don't even know to begin to express my satisfaction and appreciation of the folks at Valkyrie... For a little history, my only other personal tattoo experience was in the 90's in a smoke filled tattoo parlor catering to college kids... I was quickly handed off to an "artist" with a Marlboro Red dangling out of his mouth, a glass of whiskey at his side, and a definite eye towards the clock... the results predictably showed and I was turned off on the whole idea...My experience 20 years later with Valkyrie could not have been more different, I have truly learned what a modern tattoo shop should strive to be. Josh and the rest of the staff were very personable, they made me feel completely comfortable and at ease. As a family man in my 40's, I was somewhat nervous about taking the plunge, but the laid back, yet still very professional atmosphere of this entire operation quickly put my mind at ease. During my first session I witnessed many potential clients come through the doors, from working class folks such as myself, to obvious wealthy professionals, and I was struck by how Josh and the staff treated each and every one as valued customers. This is my first review ever of any product or service, but after spending months researching artists and shops, making an informed decision, and then seeing all that time and effort rewarded with amazing work I felt compelled to add my two cents to the already glowing reviews Valkyrie has received. I will say that if you and your buddies are looking for a quick, cheap tattoo on a hazy Saturday night this is probably not the place for you, you would be better served at one of the cheaper places in town,... but if you want a piece of art you can be proud of for a lifetime I strongly encourage you to invest the time to check them out... Believe all the good things you hear about this place.Valkyrie Tattoo is clean, well-organized, and all-around great. The staff are so welcoming and respectful. It is clear they share responsibility for what they consider to be a communal endeavor which they enjoy immensely.I've had work done in Seattle, San Diego, and Phoenix, but this is the nicest place I've ever been.The ambiance is comfortable and safe, not loud and abrasive like so many places downtown. Their location is out of the way enough to prevent this kind of intrusion, but easy to find and close enough to still go to.Sandy and Jack are so friendly and nice. I had my tattoo done by Josh, who is not only extremely talented but also highly professional and easy to get along with.I'm grateful to have found such an establishment. Great new shop! I talked over my design with Josh and he drew up a design that more than exceeded my expectations. Prices are far more reasonable than body tech or anthem.
