I've been to plenty tattoo parlors all over the world but this one is by far the best. Everyone's art in the shop is very high calibur. The distinct styles make it easy to decide who you want to work with. Another help is that there is not a smidgen of pretentiousness that you get in other shops. Novi, tattooed me with a great Tex Avery style Big Bad Wolf to represent my son. I loved the shop so much that I brought my wife in to get a memorial tattoo by Novi which looks brand new after 5 years. I've brought my Mom in to get her keloid scars covered up by Mel V. Trust me, these women are hard to please and they are ecstatic with their work. My wife is coming in soon to do a matching Big Bad Wolf. And my mom wants to get some more flowers to cover up another scar. I send all my friends here and recommend nowhere else.

In December 2018 I got piercings at Babylon from their piercer, Carla. She is a nice person (more on that below) and the experience was fine, it didn't hurt much and I thought it went well. UNTIL it was time for me to change the barbell...Five months after getting the piercings, they were healing well, I had no issues at all with the healing process. So I went to a body piercing/fine jewelry shop to treat myself to good quality body jewelry. The gentleman there did a consultation on me to decide which type of rings would best suit me. During the consultation, he told me that not only was one of my piercings crooked, but neither of them were pierced in the proper place for that body part. I'm so bummed! It's funny bc I always noticed my piercing wasn't straight but I thought maybe it was just me. To make matters worse, he said that one of the piercings being crooked was not the only issue. They were also pierced at different heights, the piercings were too shallow for that body part, the jewelry used was really cheap, etc. I went to a different body piercing shop the next day to get a second opinion and was told the same things! As soon as that guy saw them, w/o even touching them, he said they're not right. I've decided to take them out and let the piercings close and I will get it re-pierced correctly in a couple months.Despite this, the reason I'm giving Babylon a 2 star rating instead of 1 star is when I called Babylon and told Carla what happened, she was super professional! She asked me to text her pics of the piercings, which I did. She agreed one is crooked and that she did not pierce in the proper place and apologized saying she doesn't know what happened. I asked for a full refund ($74) which she immediately agreed. I admire this b/c many places would've denied any fault, blamed me, and/or refused a refund. She took full responsibility and refunded me all my money the same night! Very commendable of her. It's still unfortunate I wasted 5 months of healing plus the money I spent on aftercare just to have to do it all over again b/c of the piercer's errors. It will cost me over $100 to have them pierced at the new place I have chosen, but at least I will have peace of mind they will be correct.Carla is a nice person, but I would never recommend Babylon to anyone for piercings.

Awesome experience! Mel was great! She worked with me on the design of the two tattoos I was having done until I was completely satisfied with the final product. I never felt rushed and she never came across as frustrated even after changing the design and size of the tattoos multiple times.
I have nine tattoos by seven different artists. I think I have finally found my permanent tattoo artist. Which is very relieving with my next two projects being a sleeve and a large back piece.
Thank you Mel Vespertine! I will be calling back soon for that sleeve.

Very awesome place with some very awesome people. My wife and I were celebrating our 10th anniversary and wanted matching tattoos (hack I know) and the people there couldn't have been nicer to a couple of squares. Novi was super nice and was very meticulous even for a simple 15 minute tattoo. Highly recommend this place.

Carla did my beach sunrise tattoo (which we planned out a couple of days in advance) and she was very focused and meticulous the whole time (but still very friendly and fun to talk to!) Gable put together a tattoo for my dad on the fly and it turned out great. A great vibe for a tattoo shop and would definitely recommend!!

This is not a review on actual service, but rather poor management.I called days in advance to make an appointment for Sunday, April 8 as I was planning our anniversary day. The lady on the phone notified me that they do not take appointments and it is on a first come first serve basis. So I walked in exactly at the time of opening and was told they could not take me as they had an appointment coming in 20 minutes. This gets better: all I needed was to touch up the Roman numerals 4.8.16 on my foot that he said would take 30 mins. They'd rather lose a customer over having one customer wait 10 mins. What a shame.I'm so glad I went over to las Olas tattoo. Took me in right away and did such an incredible job. And guess what? Done in 25 mins. Shows the priority and values of a place.

I cannot speak highly enough of Mel at Babylon Tattoo. I've gotten two tattoos from her since I stumbled across Babylon well over a year ago. Not only is she a stellar tattoo artist but she's so sweet, and more like a friend than just a business transaction. My tattoos healed very nicely and I get compliments on them wherever I go. The detail and time she puts into her work is incredible and I have never left unsatisfied with the wonderful, lifetime art she provides me!I've referred so many people to her, many of whom have then gone to get tattooed by her and have only great things to say. I am always impressed by her work, both on my body and on others!

I googled local tattoo and piercing shops in my area for a new piercing I wanted and stumbled upon Babylon. On 3 different websites their reviews were amazing and I decided to give them a shot. I made an appointment with Carla and came in that day. The place was clean!... like smelled like antibacterial soap clean and not like some grungy shops... which was a great sign. Atmosphere was very professional and pleasant. Carla was as well & patient with me and my nerves ....She was quick and spoke with me throughout the piercing. I will definitely be returning for more piercings and tattoos as I am ready for much more. You guys have real keeper here.

She has done two tattoos for me so far and she will be my forever go-to gal. She take the ideas I have in my head and puts her own artistic spin on them to make them come to life!!! She takes her time when working with you an...d on you and you can tell by the end product. Her lines are always clean and the detail she works into the pieces are magical!!!! I was looking for an artist who does really great classic style artwork, and ultimately I found Mel Vespertine. The design is a red carnation in classic style, and the placement was on my forearm. I was finicky with the placement and size, but Mel was immensely patient with me until I decided on size and placement. She takes her time and does not rush, makes the experience as comfortable as possible. I was very happy with the work at first, but once it healed I felt the ink was a little lighter than I had wanted - so Mel touched it up for me on the house and now it's perfect! Will absolutely be going back for more ink in the future

Best tattoo place in South Florida! It's well established, clean and most importantly, it has Mel! Absolutely amazing artist. My hubby and I first met her late last year after much research on where to go for new ink. Immediately, we were convinced, we had struck gold. Not only does she take in every idea you throw her way, she makes magic with her insane talent and interpretation. Never mind the fact that she's one of the most wonderful people to be around. After my gorgeously intricate mandala and my husband's mythical dragon, I am truly convinced I can dream up anything and Mel can make it a reality. Since my first experience with her, I've been back for three more and every experience has been as amazing as the last.

This review is for the piercing service at Babylon. I've been here twice to change out my earrings. Carla is sweet and very knowledgeable about piercings! She really made me feel at ease (not that there's too big of a risk to change earrings lol). She has a large array of earrings to choose from (studs, curved barbells, hoops etc etc). I only wish that she had different shapes of earrings instead of just studs. The prices are reasonable ($10 for a crystal stud and $20 for an opal one). My friend also came to get her helix pierced and she had a great experience! She definitely felt at ease by Carla. She helped her figure out where to get her piercing and explained the differences in how the piercing would be viewed from different angles. And again, a reasonable price - $40 for a helix. Love love love her!

Great place! Upon walking in was greeted by Gable. I showed him a piece of paper which was a couple different tattoos taped together for my design. He said no problem and about 20 or so minutes later he showed me an awesome design he came up with using my idea. After applying the stencil to my arm i realized something off about the stencil so he wiped part of it off and then free handed a design on my hand. Took about 2 hours and he obviously knew exactly what he was doing and made sure i was comfortable and took the time to make sure it came out as perfect as possible. Will definitely recommend this place.

Amazing! I went to Novi to add to a tattoo on my back. I gave him just a general idea of what I was looking for and he completely brought it to life. I went back yesterday to have an old foot tattoo covered up and am astounded at how beautiful the tattoo turned out! Not only is the work in and of itself gorgeous, but one would never guess that it's a cover up. Both times he took the time to sit with me and go over what I wanted to make sure it was perfect, and there was no pressure to commit. Highly recommend!

It's minutes to midnight on a Saturday night and I'm determined to find a tattoo parlor to satisfy my craving. The weekend we saw our oldest son off to camp, hubby surprised me with a stay-cation at a secluded villa in Fort Lauderdale. He secretly had my bags packed (with help from our kids), and as soon as we left the airport from dropping off our son, he said we weren't going home. You could only imagine how excited I was. We had a blast that day on the beach, having brunch, some snacks, enjoying the warmth of the water, just the two of us. That night at dinner, sipping on some delicious wine, I had an uncontrollable urge to get a tattoo. Whenever things like this happen I definitely follow my heart. We jumped on Yelp and our search lead us to a couple of places. After calling around, hubby spoke with Lisa at Babylon Tattoo. It was apparent from the beginning how well they hit it off on the phone, so we chose her. She didn't mind that it was late and waited for us to get there.As soon as we stepped inside we knew we made the right decision. Lisa was so cool and just knew her stuff. I'm smiling right now at how good the moment felt, how at home I felt with her. You would have sworn we met before. I told her exactly what I wanted and where I wanted it. She took some time to draw it out and about 45 minutes later it was done. Her masterpiece was done and it was amazing!! Every time I look at my arm I think about how great of a job she did. She is the best I've ever had and currently I have 4 sets of tattoo's. I'll be visiting her soon to add an extension on the one she did and another one that needs completion. Ask for Lisa. You won't go wrong. Trust me.

My boyfriend and I wanted to get some matching nipple piercings while on vacation. I researched places in the area and decided on Babylon based on the reviews. I was not disappointed. Our piercer, Kelly, made a special effort to come in the day that was convenient for us while we were traveling through, so I was immediately impressed. She also gave me her cell phone number and we kept in contact to make sure we'd catch her when we were driving through on our way back to the airport.When we arrived at our appointment, everything was as I would expect. The shop was pretty typical for a tattoo shop (I've been in a lot of them). I felt comfortable with Kelly immediately and she did my piercings like a pro. I am amazed to say, it wasn't as bad as I was expecting and in the week since the piercing, I've barely felt any soreness at all. They seem to be healing perfectly and without any issue. Now, my boyfriend is a whole other story. He previously had 1 nipple pierced but the piercing migrated so he removed it about a year ago. Kelly looked at it and said she didn't feel comfortable re-piercing due to the way it had healed. She offered to do them vertically but we weren't sure we'd like the way it looked. Ultimately, he didn't get his done and we were sad but it was really nice to have a piercer who was honest about her comfort level and didn't just go for it. It really made me trust Kelly and the shop as a whole since we were from out of town and she could have easily done the piercings and never heard from us again, but he might have had complications or bad results. If I'm ever back in the area, I will definitely visit Babylon again. Highly recommended!

Ive been looking since forever for a place to get a tattoo, after watching Mel's work i was convinced i wanted to get a piece with her , and man im happy i did, the art work came awesome, and Mel is really humble and makes you feel comfortable since the minute you enter the shop, and she has amazing talent. When you love being tattooed as much as I do, you spend a lot of time trying to find that one shop that is thorough, reasonably priced and inviting. From the second I walked into Babylon I felt I was home. I thought ""This is my shop"". It took me a while to find this place and thank god i did. So many places in South Florida claim to be the best and have the best artists. Babylon doesn't have to claim anything it simply shows in their work. They are truly passionate about their clients satisfaction. I have 4 pieces from this shop and they are all amazing. I absolutely love Karla and Novi. They make you feel comfortable and put their own style in their pieces. I have never been happier than I have been walking out of that shop. I can honestly say I will never go anywhere else for work and you shouldn't either.

I have been visiting Babylon for almost seven years now, and I would not go anywhere else to get tattooed. They are sterile, reasonably priced and do phenomenal work. I have gotten all nine of my pieces from there, some that were designed by me and others that I gave the artist an idea and they drew up the perfect representation of it. While I have been tattooed by several artists there and they are all awesome, Karla does particularly exceptional work. She's pretty brilliant, so you can come to her with any idea you can possibly think of and she'll make a unique depiction that you'll probably love. And if you don't, she'll do it again. She's friendly, talented and pretty nice to look at on top of it all.

I've been to plenty tattoo parlors all over the world but this one is by far the best. Everyone's art in the shop is very high calibur. The distinct styles make it easy to decide who you want to work with. Another help is that there is not a smidgen of pretentiousness that you get in other shops. Novi, tattooed me with a great Tex Avery style Big Bad Wolf to represent my son. I loved the shop so much that I brought my wife in to get a memorial tattoo by Novi which looks brand new after 5 years. I've brought my Mom in to get her keloid scars covered up by Mel V. Trust me, these women are hard to please and they are ecstatic with their work. My wife is coming in soon to do a matching Big Bad Wolf. And my mom wants to get some more flowers to cover up another scar. I send all my friends here and recommend nowhere else.

In December 2018 I got piercings at Babylon from their piercer, Carla. She is a nice person (more on that below) and the experience was fine, it didn't hurt much and I thought it went well. UNTIL it was time for me to change the barbell...Five months after getting the piercings, they were healing well, I had no issues at all with the healing process. So I went to a body piercing/fine jewelry shop to treat myself to good quality body jewelry. The gentleman there did a consultation on me to decide which type of rings would best suit me. During the consultation, he told me that not only was one of my piercings crooked, but neither of them were pierced in the proper place for that body part. I'm so bummed! It's funny bc I always noticed my piercing wasn't straight but I thought maybe it was just me. To make matters worse, he said that one of the piercings being crooked was not the only issue. They were also pierced at different heights, the piercings were too shallow for that body part, the jewelry used was really cheap, etc. I went to a different body piercing shop the next day to get a second opinion and was told the same things! As soon as that guy saw them, w/o even touching them, he said they're not right. I've decided to take them out and let the piercings close and I will get it re-pierced correctly in a couple months.Despite this, the reason I'm giving Babylon a 2 star rating instead of 1 star is when I called Babylon and told Carla what happened, she was super professional! She asked me to text her pics of the piercings, which I did. She agreed one is crooked and that she did not pierce in the proper place and apologized saying she doesn't know what happened. I asked for a full refund ($74) which she immediately agreed. I admire this b/c many places would've denied any fault, blamed me, and/or refused a refund. She took full responsibility and refunded me all my money the same night! Very commendable of her. It's still unfortunate I wasted 5 months of healing plus the money I spent on aftercare just to have to do it all over again b/c of the piercer's errors. It will cost me over $100 to have them pierced at the new place I have chosen, but at least I will have peace of mind they will be correct.Carla is a nice person, but I would never recommend Babylon to anyone for piercings.

Awesome experience! Mel was great! She worked with me on the design of the two tattoos I was having done until I was completely satisfied with the final product. I never felt rushed and she never came across as frustrated even after changing the design and size of the tattoos multiple times.
I have nine tattoos by seven different artists. I think I have finally found my permanent tattoo artist. Which is very relieving with my next two projects being a sleeve and a large back piece.
Thank you Mel Vespertine! I will be calling back soon for that sleeve.

Carla did my beach sunrise tattoo (which we planned out a couple of days in advance) and she was very focused and meticulous the whole time (but still very friendly and fun to talk to!) Gable put together a tattoo for my dad on the fly and it turned out great. A great vibe for a tattoo shop and would definitely recommend!!

This gets better: all I needed was to touch up the Roman numerals 4.8.16 on my foot that he said would take 30 mins. They'd rather lose a customer over having one customer wait 10 mins. What a shame.I'm so glad I went over to las Olas tattoo. Took me in right away and did such an incredible job. And guess what? Done in 25 mins. Shows the priority and values of a place.

I cannot speak highly enough of Mel at Babylon Tattoo. I've gotten two tattoos from her since I stumbled across Babylon well over a year ago. Not only is she a stellar tattoo artist but she's so sweet, and more like a friend than just a business transaction. My tattoos healed very nicely and I get compliments on them wherever I go. The detail and time she puts into her work is incredible and I have never left unsatisfied with the wonderful, lifetime art she provides me!I've referred so many people to her, many of whom have then gone to get tattooed by her and have only great things to say. I am always impressed by her work, both on my body and on others!

I made an appointment with Carla and came in that day. The place was clean!... like smelled like antibacterial soap clean and not like some grungy shops... which was a great sign. Atmosphere was very professional and pleasant. Carla was as well & patient with me and my nerves ....She was quick and spoke with me throughout the piercing. I will definitely be returning for more piercings and tattoos as I am ready for much more. You guys have real keeper here.

I was looking for an artist who does really great classic style artwork, and ultimately I found Mel Vespertine. The design is a red carnation in classic style, and the placement was on my forearm. I was finicky with the placement and size, but Mel was immensely patient with me until I decided on size and placement. She takes her time and does not rush, makes the experience as comfortable as possible. I was very happy with the work at first, but once it healed I felt the ink was a little lighter than I had wanted - so Mel touched it up for me on the house and now it's perfect! Will absolutely be going back for more ink in the future

Best tattoo place in South Florida! It's well established, clean and most importantly, it has Mel! Absolutely amazing artist. My hubby and I first met her late last year after much research on where to go for new ink. Immediately, we were convinced, we had struck gold. Not only does she take in every idea you throw her way, she makes magic with her insane talent and interpretation. Never mind the fact that she's one of the most wonderful people to be around. After my gorgeously intricate mandala and my husband's mythical dragon, I am truly convinced I can dream up anything and Mel can make it a reality. This review is for the piercing service at Babylon. I've been here twice to change out my earrings. Carla is sweet and very knowledgeable about piercings! She really made me feel at ease (not that there's too big of a risk to change earrings lol). She has a large array of earrings to choose from (studs, curved barbells, hoops etc etc). I only wish that she had different shapes of earrings instead of just studs. The prices are reasonable ($10 for a crystal stud and $20 for an opal one). My friend also came to get her helix pierced and she had a great experience! She definitely felt at ease by Carla. She helped her figure out where to get her piercing and explained the differences in how the piercing would be viewed from different angles. And again, a reasonable price - $40 for a helix. Love love love her!

Great place! Upon walking in was greeted by Gable. I showed him a piece of paper which was a couple different tattoos taped together for my design. He said no problem and about 20 or so minutes later he showed me an awesome design he came up with using my idea. After applying the stencil to my arm i realized something off about the stencil so he wiped part of it off and then free handed a design on my hand. Took about 2 hours and he obviously knew exactly what he was doing and made sure i was comfortable and took the time to make sure it came out as perfect as possible. Will definitely recommend this place.

Amazing! I went to Novi to add to a tattoo on my back. I gave him just a general idea of what I was looking for and he completely brought it to life. I went back yesterday to have an old foot tattoo covered up and am astounded at how beautiful the tattoo turned out! Not only is the work in and of itself gorgeous, but one would never guess that it's a cover up. Both times he took the time to sit with me and go over what I wanted to make sure it was perfect, and there was no pressure to commit. Highly recommend!

It's minutes to midnight on a Saturday night and I'm determined to find a tattoo parlor to satisfy my craving. The weekend we saw our oldest son off to camp, hubby surprised me with a stay-cation at a secluded villa in Fort Lauderdale. He secretly had my bags packed (with help from our kids), and as soon as we left the airport from dropping off our son, he said we weren't going home. You could only imagine how excited I was. We had a blast that day on the beach, having brunch, some snacks, enjoying the warmth of the water, just the two of us. That night at dinner, sipping on some delicious wine, I had an uncontrollable urge to get a tattoo. Whenever things like this happen I definitely follow my heart. We jumped on Yelp and our search lead us to a couple of places. After calling around, hubby spoke with Lisa at Babylon Tattoo. It was apparent from the beginning how well they hit it off on the phone, so we chose her. She didn't mind that it was late and waited for us to get there.As soon as we stepped inside we knew we made the right decision. Lisa was so cool and just knew her stuff. I'm smiling right now at how good the moment felt, how at home I felt with her. You would have sworn we met before. I told her exactly what I wanted and where I wanted it. She took some time to draw it out and about 45 minutes later it was done. Her masterpiece was done and it was amazing!! Every time I look at my arm I think about how great of a job she did. She is the best I've ever had and currently I have 4 sets of tattoo's. I'll be visiting her soon to add an extension on the one she did and another one that needs completion. Ask for Lisa. You won't go wrong. Trust me.

My boyfriend and I wanted to get some matching nipple piercings while on vacation. I researched places in the area and decided on Babylon based on the reviews. I was not disappointed. Our piercer, Kelly, made a special effort to come in the day that was convenient for us while we were traveling through, so I was immediately impressed. She also gave me her cell phone number and we kept in contact to make sure we'd catch her when we were driving through on our way back to the airport.When we arrived at our appointment, everything was as I would expect. The shop was pretty typical for a tattoo shop (I've been in a lot of them). I felt comfortable with Kelly immediately and she did my piercings like a pro. I am amazed to say, it wasn't as bad as I was expecting and in the week since the piercing, I've barely felt any soreness at all. They seem to be healing perfectly and without any issue. Now, my boyfriend is a whole other story. He previously had 1 nipple pierced but the piercing migrated so he removed it about a year ago. Kelly looked at it and said she didn't feel comfortable re-piercing due to the way it had healed. She offered to do them vertically but we weren't sure we'd like the way it looked. Ultimately, he didn't get his done and we were sad but it was really nice to have a piercer who was honest about her comfort level and didn't just go for it. It really made me trust Kelly and the shop as a whole since we were from out of town and she could have easily done the piercings and never heard from us again, but he might have had complications or bad results. If I'm ever back in the area, I will definitely visit Babylon again. Highly recommended!

When you love being tattooed as much as I do, you spend a lot of time trying to find that one shop that is thorough, reasonably priced and inviting. From the second I walked into Babylon I felt I was home. I thought ""This is my shop"". It took me a while to find this place and thank god i did. So many places in South Florida claim to be the best and have the best artists. Babylon doesn't have to claim anything it simply shows in their work. They are truly passionate about their clients satisfaction. I have 4 pieces from this shop and they are all amazing. I absolutely love Karla and Novi. They make you feel comfortable and put their own style in their pieces. I have never been happier than I have been walking out of that shop. I can honestly say I will never go anywhere else for work and you shouldn't either.

I have been visiting Babylon for almost seven years now, and I would not go anywhere else to get tattooed. They are sterile, reasonably priced and do phenomenal work. I have gotten all nine of my pieces from there, some that were designed by me and others that I gave the artist an idea and they drew up the perfect representation of it. While I have been tattooed by several artists there and they are all awesome, Karla does particularly exceptional work. She's pretty brilliant, so you can come to her with any idea you can possibly think of and she'll make a unique depiction that you'll probably love. And if you don't, she'll do it again. She's friendly, talented and pretty nice to look at on top of it all.
