I had 2 cover ups to do around my wrist and after searching for a few weeks online, I decided to give Electric Mermaid a shot. Luigi did my tattoo and did an amazing job! The staff there are super friendly and the shop is a cozy collection of eclectic nautical flair. It really amazes me to see people giving these guys a good review. They need to hire a new person to work the front desk. The older lady with the fake blonde hair needs to learn customer service the younger girl was super sweet and I feel bad that she has to deal with the other ladies attitude. Their hours are so minimal that it was hard to find a time that an artist was available . The only take cash- and require a cash deposit to make an appointment which is definitely some...thing they should advertise prior to people driving 45 minutes to get there. After being quoted a price I simply said I've never paid that much for a tattoo and she look at my tattoos on my feet and said I guess you get what you pay for. My friend and I were very nervous to get a tattoo but Luigi was amazing and we are so happy with the results and our experience. We didn't want anything super detailed or fancy but Luigi handled it like it was just as important as any other tattoo he has created. This shop is honestly one of the best and coolest I've ever been to. Tiffany was incredible and worked with me to come up with a custom tattoo with very little notice, but she put her all into it and it came out absolutely beautiful and is my favorite tattoo that I have. Everyone is friendly and easy to talk to and it felt like hanging out with people I've known instead of getting tattooed by someone who just sees it as there job. I highly recommend this shop. After some extensive homework on tattoo parlors in the southeast Georgia/northeast Florida region, I stumbled upon Luigi at the Electric Mermaid. Upon first entering the shop, I was impressed with the cleanliness and decor. Whoever decorated the shop has a great eye for design and creativity!!! I met Luigi-- super amazing personality, easy to talk to, and a brilliant artist! Together we conceptualized a full-sleeve design. He truly has a passion for tattooing and his work speaks for itself. Chris D. - This shop is high end. This is NOT a walk up ink joint. Perhaps your sisters design just sucked? Ever think of that? And the artist didn't realize what she wanted until time to start prepping for the appointment the day before? This is common with high demand tattoo artist. High end artist are always trying to improve and display their work. This is how they gain name recognition. And with that said, most will never do script! Take that newbi crap to the walk-in shop down the street! I was so excited to stumble upon Electric Mermaid while on vacation on Amelia Island! Unfortunately, the shop was not open when I first found it, but I immediately started making plans for what tattoo I was going to get from Tiffany the next time I was in town. I was able to get my tattoo this spring and it was an awesome experience! Tiffany is super easy to work with and a genius when it comes to her art. This is an awesome shop and a great addition to downtown Fernandina. The shop is super clean and the staff is super helpful.
