Ive vacationed to multiple places and attempted to get detailed ink that requires actual talent and was turned away time and time again. Shops were only interested in the quick buck and the quick ink. I walked into the Generation X to see if I could get on the schedule and Heather had a tattoo artist that could do the work I was asking for. Not only that but she had An artist named Sasha on call that came in and got to me right away despite the shop already full of customers. Not only did he complete my half sleeve and tie my chest cap into my half sleeve, but he was able to add way more detail and shading to my older “finished” work to make it all come together to perfection. Sasha went above and beyond to bring my artwork to life. These people went out of their way to make sure I was accommodated and my tattooing needs were met. That’s a wow moment in the tattoo industry. So I took advantage of the time I had with good management and unmatched tattooing and got three sessions. Let me tell you what happened today. First off. I walk into this place looking for a lip ring. The guy behind the counter was no help. I asked if they had something then he said I don’t know and walked away. Okaaay. So now onto the second guy, tall facial hair younger and very nice. But he was doing something else and has a third guy help me. This guys IQ must be 20.(short bald and plump)He had to draw a picture of a small diamond and a big diamond so he could bring this pap...er to the now 4th guy.( I have two piercings on my bottom right side of my lip. I had one big and one small diamond because one fell out so I made do with what I had. I asked for a small white diamond similar to what I have. That’s it. And then he said I need you to write this down. It’s like you’re asking about a car you want because you had it before but you don’t know what it was?? How don’t you understand. Small diamond. )Well guy number 3 is telling me about this cactus drink and getting so screwed up on it. I finally buy a lip ring I really didn’t want but since mine fell out I was at a lost. Now after I buy two for 30, I was told I could have them put it in. So guy number four asks guy number three which I bet was drinking that cactus crap in his cup. He tells me everything he has to do for the day he needs to go out side and smoke and “ ya know clear my head” so I leave without them put in. I even said I will put them in I just need them tightened. Nope. Wouldn’t even take two seconds to do that and I’m sure he wouldn’t even be able to figure out how to get the two pieces of the lip ring together. First & foremost...... This review is no reflection on my tattoo artist Dave. He was awesome & did a great job with my tattoo. He kept me entertained & made me laugh during the long somewhat painful process. You would think that when you spend $ 700.00 on a tattoo, they would throw in the $5.00 “tattoo goo” for nothing....They charged me $ 14.99 for the stuff, same stuff, same size on AMAZON for $ 4.99. Went in there last night to just to take a look and possibly get a small tattoo, black ink, no shading, no color, no bigger than 2 inches. Just a simple line tattoo of the fallout emblem. The chick up front "running" the place was pissy, tried to rush us into deciding and was bitching at one of her workers about another worker. SUPERRRR unprofessional. She tried to charge me 100 after telling me that it was a discount and it would originally be 160. Gtfo. This place knows tou...rists go there and they overcharge like crazy. Dont fall for her shit. We were a group of 5 people that required a simple tattoo that took 20-30 minutes each. We arrived at 3:30. There was only one Employee handling piercings and our tattoos. We were bumped several times for piercings. I’m writing this after FOUR hours with only two of us done. I will never recommend this place to anyone. We just spent a wk in Daytona Beach Fl . My 2 friends wanted to get tattoos & I went with them . I'm a 62 yr old lady & I was a bit hesitant to even go to a tattoo parlor . The minute we walked in I felt comfortable . 5 young men were there , with tattoos allover their body , completely fitting the image I had of tattoo artists . Every one of those guys made me comfortable & at home . I didn't get a tattoo but I the process was fascinating & a learning process . And they answered all my questions . I did get a daith piercing . The young man who did mine reminded me of my grandson , very patient & talked me thru the whole process . I couldn't have picked a better place for. My first experience . A few good artists and a good facility. The problem was how it was run. We were first in line for Friday the 13th tattoos and they didn't even open until an hour after posted time. They didn't charge what was written on their poorly organized binders. They shrank one of my tattoos from the original option quoted and paid. They didn't even have me in a chair until over an hour waiting inside. Why weren't they prepared for a tattoo holiday? Why was there pricing shady? My rating isn’t for the tattoo I received. The tattoo was done pretty well and I was satisfied. It’s the customer service that needs work. The lady up front had an obvious attitude. I got over it when it was time to be tattooed, but then the artist had an attitude as well! I feel like there were some nice people that worked in this establishment, but the ones I encountered needed better customer service. Also, they asked me for my tip upfront, which I didn’t like. The owner seemed completely bored with my wife and I when we came in to get some tats fixed. We've been here a few times and that just seems to be her general attitude. What matters is having Sasha as our tattooist. The man is a true artist and even though these were tiny fixes, he treated us both very professionally. His station is always immaculate. They have very poor customer service. The gentleman who did the piecing was fine but they were way behind and the woman up front negated to tell us that. After an hour waiting for an ear piercing, I told her we needed to leave. She stated they don’t do refunds. I am unable to find that in their policies or posted, unless I have somehow missed it. She was extremely unprofessional and rude. She was nasty and I have trouble trusting a business where your “up front face” is so unprofessional. A girlfriend of mine had work done here previously, so we decided to go together to get tattoos. We went before hand and discussed what we wanted and how much they would be....All good so far....Came back like 3 days later and everything went downhill. I was told that what I had already decided on, would not be given to me for the price they literally told me days prior.. Okay no big deal. I literally picked a very small tattoo right out of "her" book that I liked. After cons...tantly being told we would be next, about 3 hours later we finally both got our 2 minute tats done. Right before I sat in the chair I discussed with the artist that I wanted exactly what I had picked, but I wanted to add the color red to the handle. Was told "no problem", and even said I would pay extra if it was a problem. Sat down, very quick, and then I looked at it..... The artist took it upon herself to change it, and fucked up the lines. You can literally see where the lines are thicker cuz she made 2 lines and tried to connect the 2. Not to mention there was no color added and I have a random stray line sticking out because she couldn't properly trace the outline. Stopped in on a whim because I didnt wanna go through Main st/bike week traffic on my way home. 1st talked about a new memorial tat but decided to hold off. Looked around for a bit a decided to have my 1st tat, that will be 20yrs old in June redone. Paid and went back to wait. My artist was finishing up his lunch, gotta eat when ya can. i had atattoo done a few years ago on my foot. i have several tattoos as well as one on my other foot. About 3 days after i had gotten my tattoo while in the shower the entire thing basically lifted off. kinda like it was glued on. the after math was faded and ugly. it looked 20 years old. i tried to contact then via phone email could never get a response. i was their on vacation so i couldn't just run by. i also paid a total of 250$ for it. and its maybe 2 inches big. it's was soposted to look like a flying butterfly. it's just plain and simple. my advice is don't go their. if you have a bad feeling when you go. don't do it you will regret it. So a couple months ago I had gotten a piercing from Rio... I believe. She was awesome. I was only a little concerned with the aftercare instructions that I had followed, (this is isn't my first weird piercing either) (or piercing in general...) when I called and asked to speak to Rio, they put another person on the phone, who told me what to do and if I had any questions to call or come in she was awesome. So today I had recommended to my best friend who wanted a nipple pierc...ing, to go to generation x. We both got off at 9:00. We're servers so we completely understand the frustration of a person wanting service 10 min before close. So we called, we live all the way in edgewater. The website said it 11;00. We called to say hey are you open and willing to do a nipple piercing? They said yes, piercings are walk in and we will be here when you come. We show up near closing time and again we get it because we hate that but we explained we would be there by 10:30.. and the guy who answered told us to come. The people were very nice and friendly. Clean and laid back. My husband and I were in vacation and decided to get tattoos. We had our 6 month old son with us. First we had went to Tropical Tattoo and the man was rude to us and asked if had read the sign on the door saying no one under the age of 18. So we left. Didn't even say anything else to us. I would highly recommend this place! After having a horrible experience at Jet Set Tattoo down the street we drove by this place and decided to check it out. There were 6 of us that wanted a tattoo and we walked in close to closing time. The lady working the front counter was very sweet and asked if we would be willing to come back in the morning. After a little explanation we had no problem coming back. Both Mike and Justin did an amazing job! Don't get me wrong. That tattoo artists were bomb, they did a fantastic job and I'm so disappointed that they have to work with such an awful lady. The pink haired lady was so rude, unprofessional and should not be working in customer service. We walked in with ten dollar off coupons. Were told as we walked in that because we were all getting tattoos that we would get a group discount. Each of us picked tattoos that were no bigger than 2x2 and were simple designs. Well I have to say I'm a repeat customer only because of Trevor. Once you get away from the front desk (which you can why see in other reviews I don't have to say it .) Trevor is not only a wonderful and attentive artist who has done an original sleeve on me. He's also quick and easy/ fun to be around. I originally went in to buy new jewelry for my piercings. The owner was very friendly but i had trouble getting info from the workers about jewelry. Finally I wanted to see some from the cases and instead of showing them to me they sent me to the cash register. The first thing the woman at the register said was "cash or credit?!" At that point I didn't even have a price and was unsure if I wanted it yet because I didn't know the sizes. When I proceeded to ask questions about... size options the woman just blew it off and said yeah yeah they'll fit. Then just tells me 70 dollars not breaking down the cost of each piece. I was being super rushed. When I got back to my hotel room I noticed the jewelry was way too big and one of the pieces didn't even open. I went back to the store and the owner took care of everything and got me the correct sizing and apologized. My family and I have been coming to the Daytona area for many years and my wife and I have plenty of tattoos. Our first tats were done here and let me tell you, we paid way too much for the work we got and when we told them we needed touch ups, they told us we'd have to pay again to fix what they screwed up. Their artists are pretty good, they have nice portfolios but good luck speaking to one of them. The operator won't let you speak to an artist until you've put money in their register.
