I used to come to Colorfast back when David Carbonell used to tattoo here (he's amazing, btdubs!). I haven't been back since, but recently found myself in need of a piercer and Colorfast came to mind. I called on a Monday afternoon and asked if they had a piercer in for the day. I was told there was one there until 10pm. I had a quick question since I wasn't looking to get a new piercing, but rather re-open an old one. I had the jewelry it was originally pierced with, and was told I was welcome to come in with that. When I arrived, I was greeted by Kristopher (AKA Kri) who was extremely friendly and helpful! Turns out he knows my original piercer, Leo, in Orlando. He was easy to talk to and made me feel very comfortable. Some shop girl with pretty tinsel In her hair went to go ask an artist for a quote of my first tattoo. So she walks away and finds an artist but hey there are no walls honey! So I hear her talking shit about how annoying and specific I was already being, because I knew exactly what I wanted to print on my skin for eternity. The only thing I said that was specific was what type of butterfly I want, a orange monarch. Huh I guess that judgy basic shop girl just wanted me to pick any butterfly out of a book, ?? Not for me. I LOVE this place! First time there 5 years ago, I was treated so nicely. The artists and pierces here make sure you are comfortable with what you're getting done, answer all your questions, and have wonderful sanitary practice. As a medical professional I care very much about cleanliness and proper sterility, Color Fast takes it just as seriously as I do in the hospital. THIS IS MY REVIEW BASED ON THE ADVICE I GOT FROM SARA/not a service (yet). I stopped in last month to see if I can get my navel re-pierced and other piercings changed.  The place is clean (yes! a good sign).  Sara gave me advice, which I appreciate, to not re- pierce my navel (fear of making a large hole) and to use a smaller curved bell. she also gave me advice on other piercings and inserted my friends lip piercing for her. I am grateful on her advice because most shops would just do whatever and sell you the expensive jewelry and move on. She clearly cares about her reputation and I will visit in again in 2 months as recommended  (and to purchase more neilmeds saline solution- the fine mist! they have it!). My friend and I decided to get our first piercings here.I got my tragus and my helix done and my friend got two helix piercings- and I have to say that not only do I absolutely love the way they look but the service when we were getting them done was incredible.My piercer was Sara and she was the bomb! We were nervous because you know, needles are scary and I thought I'd be in pain but Sara thoroughly explained every part of the process. She showed us what tools she would be using and really calmed both me and my friend down just by talking about what would be happening during the actual piercing. She is a piercer with a lot of knowledge and it was evident that she had a lot of experience. Seriously, I'd easily go back and get another piercing and my friend would as well and that's saying a lot since needles make her nervous and shes a big baby. Okay so I just spent a good half hour writing my bad experience that I had here but it was too long for Yelp to let me post. So I will give the short version. Colorfast is a great studio, very clean and pleasant. All the work I've had done there and all the work I've seen get done there is wonderful. I drive there from Miami. It's a terrible drive but it's usually worth it. I would give Colorfast 5 stars FOR SURE all day everyday..... until my last visit when I had to deal with the rudest most ungrateful piercer I've ever met. I believe her name is sarah but not sure. I was there not too long ago and had a really wonderful experience with Sabrina and I left so happy. So happy that my boyfriend and I went back. I was having trouble getting my nose ring out and my boyfriend wanted his ears pierced. He picked out $120 pair of earring so in my opinion this girl(Sarah) should have been nice because the more a customer spends on jewelry, the more they will spend on tip. Which I always do. Sarah was so rude, she made me feel extremely stupid(whether I am or not... I'm not the professional, she is. And I went there because I wanted a professionals help) My long story shortened: Sabrina is a work of art, and Sarah is a piece of work...Story conclusion: My boyfriend got his ears pierced for $30 at the Piercing Pagoda (usually would never do this but whatever it was better than dealing with Sarah) and I was in my bathroom for a half hour using cuticle clippers to hold one end of the jewelry and yanking the other with my big fat fingers. But I eventually got it!!!! And my piercing looks so good thanks to Sabrina. I believe that colorfast is a great shop and I want to give them 5 stars but the last visit I had was so poor I'd rate them one star. But an entire good brand shouldn't have to suffer from one single bad employee.... So four stars will have to do. Thank you Colorfast for ALMOST always being there for me. I frequent the cigar shop next door to Colorfast and have been watching the top quality work get pumped out for a few months. I finally walked in one day and spoke to the owner while he was finishing a half sleeve, and was dead set on getting tattooed here. About a month later, I came in and talked to Nick Richard, one of the artist, about finishing my sleeve. Not only did he help me come up with a perfect design, but he threw down a SICK Jimi Hendrix portrait on my wrist. It was so awesome, and I was so pleased with the work, that I went back the next day and got 2 more pieces! I love my ink, I love the shop, and I can't wait to go back next month for more!!! I literally just went in there cause one of the balls feel off of my nipple ring. So I ask the guy at the counter for a new set of barbells. He tells me $120. So of course I thought I miss heard him and ask again. He tells me a set of barbells is $120 dollars because it's made of titanium and they only carry titanium jewellery. What a joke. One of the most professional tattoo/piercing place hands down. I didn't make an appointment and I walked in and they set me up within 5 min. My piercer went over with me about the nose piercing and what jewelry would be best and the different prices. After she sat me down and washed her hands and then disinfected my nose and marked the dot for me to see. She then pushed through the needle w no pain, and told me how to clean it and to call if I had any questions. I've had incidents where I took out my nose piercing or it got stuck on clothes and it came out and I can always relay on the workers at colorfast to put it back it w no cost. By no means am I doubting the quality of the tattoo I received, however, I have a huge issue with price. I have 5 pairs of initials (10 total letters) down my forearm. Keep in mind they are not custom letters they were selected from Microsoft. The hourly rate on the board in the front clearly states $150. The tattoo was completed in less than an hour and I was charged $200 for the piece. I even got the tattoo appraised at multiple shops and the highest rate I was given was $130. Tonight, I got another tattoo on my other arm at another shop that is significantly larger and includes color detail with letters as well and I was only charged $150. The price was beyond ridiculous and I will never return because of that. Read Less

My decision to go to Colorfast Studios comes from my obsession with Japanese style tattoos & art. I wanted a sleeve tattoo that would incorporate a cover up and three elements a Koi & Dragon, with color & a Skull. I found Vincent Moisdon on the web and found his art and tattoo work to be exceptional and truly special. He is an amazing artist and he has done work in other mediums, we are fortunate to have him as a pro tattoo artist! We were able to consult about the cover up and the layout and the cover up. A lot of work! Everything went smoothly and the project began. His staff is awesome, sending reminders for appointments, very professional! His shop is clean & welcoming and he has other fantastic tattoo artists on his team. My tattoo is awesome and has healed up beautifully. First time in the shop.....loved it! Was greeted warmly/promptly. I saw Sara for a double conch piercing. She was super informative, offered great suggestions and helped me select beautiful jewelry. This review is for their awesome piercers!! Tiffany and Sara are both super sweet and very informative. I've been to quite a few piercing spots in south Florida, and this is one of the only ones where the piercers actually adhere to the standards set by the APP, which makes me really feel comfortable getting things done here. They have an autoclave and you can even get proof that your jewelry and everything was totally and completely sterilized. Ever since finding out about this place, I've never gone anywhere else for a piercing. I got my septum pierced by Tiffany a few weeks ago, and she was so nice and helpful! She answered every question I had and even took my nose ring into consideration when choosing the size of the jewelry she used! The piercing was quick & painless. Really strange experience with this place. First time I called and left message with their front desk I had no return phone call. A year later I got an appointment. Artist arrived late to scheduled session. Only one decent tattooing chair in the whole place.Tattoo was ok. Lacked texture and proper shading.
