This place is awesome first of all I am scared to death of tattoos I went with my daughter this place was huge very clean they had so many choices. After dealing with a local shop nearby, they were unable to assist me with a much needed issue. Was actually recommended Moniques by the local shop. As soon as I walked in I was greeted in a very welcoming fashion. I explained my problem, was reassured by the piercer that he could help. With in five minutes of walking in with no appointment he was able to fix my peircing and send me on my way. The other shop had me there for 45 minutes with the realty that my peircing would have to close and pay a high price to have redone. Monique took a matter of minutes, made me feel confident about not having to be repeirced, and all for a fraction of the cost. For future piercing Moniques is the place for me. Honestly I can’t say enough about this shop. After going to the same artist for 8+ years, he moved away. I got to asking around who was well known in the area. I ended up stumbling upon Monique’s. I have never felt more comfortable at a shop than I do here. Its so clean and well laid out. It’s not over bearing loud to a point where you can’t think, but it isn’t quite to where it’s awkward (trust me, I’ve been in both situations). Billy is so welcoming when you walk in the doo...r, he makes you feel right at home. The artists really takes the time to make sure you’re getting EXACTLY what you are looking for. I have gotten 2 pieces done by Kevin, he is so kind and very patient when it comes to his work. His contrasting and shadowing are second to none. I got my first tattoo almost 3 years ago from Kevin. Kevin has been my artist for every tat I now proudly wear. They are all amazing and I frequently get positive comments from strangers on how great they look. Kevin listens to your request, makes suggestions on what does works for the long term, and does amazing artwork. He is patient and will do a terrific job every time. The other artists in the shop all do great work. I have seen some amazing work from them all over the past 3 years. It is the only place I will go. I do not recommend this shop. The service I received was unsatisfactory in several different ways. I entered the shop with the intention of having a joyful exciting experience and was met with mad moods and rude comments. The artist was not willing to collaborate with me on the design whatsoever and insulted the concept as well. He was extremely degrading to my female friend and made both of us feel unwelcome and stupid. Been there many times today, I went in to see Tom again.  I sent pictures ahead of time to give suggestions and when I came in we went over it again and he came to me with 3 fabulous sketches just from the two ideas I gave  and We started to add the largest one on top of the one I had to puzzle it to a sleeve at some point and when we were done I decided to add the other two to it as well.  He is all around a patient and great guy I walked in at one and done at 430 and not once did I need a break because he was great with tattooing.  I come to Florida about 4-6 times a year and my next visit we will add possibly two more.   The price was great, he was great.  I absolutely refuse to go anywhere else in Florida or to anyone else Read Less

So I will be clear, I did not get a tattoo, I am not against them but just the thought doesn't cross my mind. However, I was asked to accompany a good friend of mine on the one year anniversary of her mother's passing. One of the ways my friend wanted to remember her mother was tattooing the GPS coordinates where they scattered her ashes. Tom was the tattoo artist and printed out several scenarios so my friend could decide what part of her body she wanted it on and what size. Tom not only was extremely patient during her indecisiveness but also had a witty sense of humor that brought a smile to her face. The work was done perfectly and expeditiously. Update time � So it's been a week since I got my daiths pierced and I can definitely say I am glad I got this done! Don't get me wrong, it hurt�and still hurts to clean but I am someone who gets a headache everyday, and recently they have gotten worse turning into full blown migraines (sensitive to light and sick to stomach) so much so that I was seeing a neurologist who put me on Topamax (an anti-seizure medication) which worked to prevent headaches but gave me kidney stones... and made me out of it. So I weaned myself off, but of course the migraines returned everyday. The first day I got the piercings it was hard to tell because my ears were pretty sore. The second day I felt the start of a migraine at my temple but then it vanished �The fourth day I was ready to do an update but then got a headache at the back of my head� No headache for the next few days after till I was rushing around stressing and got another headache. So for the week I had a total of two headaches, when normally would have had one every day. They say to get the piercing on whatever side you usually get the migraine but Billy said most people come back to get the other side done, so I got both since I tend to get migraines on either side. Let me start by saying that I would have given 5 stars but because Ari started out by acting like a total D-bag, I took off 2 stars.This was my first tattoo and I was very nervous and had LOTS of questions and concerns of size and placement. Ari made me feel like a complete moron at first.  He gave his very rude and unsolicited opinions and snarky comments at every thing I asked or did.  If Billy or Monique read this...please do something about this guys manners!! He should NEVER talk down to and disregard customers feelings or concerns.  You came about 2 seconds from loosing me as a client, if you care.  This guy may be "the best" at what he does but that does not give him the right to treat YOUR potential customers like crap.  I stayed only because your shop came highly recommended and because my 2 conversations with Billy were very positive. So I tried to look past Ari's horrid manners and after he placed the stencil and I approved...we went thru with it.Ari took me into his station, where he seemed to have had a little change in attitude, and began telling me in detail everything he was going to do.  His station was clean and he was very professional the whole time he was doing my tattoo.  Afterwards he discussed how to take care of it and asked me to call him with any concerns I may have.  I feel the second half of my experience made up for the beginning.  I'm glad I left on a positive note and was happy with the outcome.  Thanks everyone! Apparently he's the man.  I asked about a specific type of tattoo, sitting time and price.  Told it would be $150 and take about an hour or so. I'm probably older than the average new piercee...but I always thought little nose studs were really cute. So... I called a young woman I used to work with who had some tattoos and piercings and asked her where I should go. She immediately said Monique's and told me that Billy is great. I called and talked to Billy and explained my situation and he said to come on down. I was very impressed with the cleanliness and neatness of the reception area when I walked in. Billy couldn't have been any friendlier. After I completed my paperwork, he took me back to the piercing room and once again, I was impressed with the cleanliness. Billy was very patient and explained what was going to happen. Of course it did hurt..but then it was over. He explained the aftercare to me and gave me a sheet of instructions. I've spent the last 2 years admiring every septum piercing that's crossed my path, but always wussed out of getting it done myself. Last Saturday I finally decided to bite the bullet and do this thing! Billy was great and put me right at ease. That's saying a lot since I have crazy anxiety! I was in and out in about 10 minutes. I stopped in at Monique's after reading the reviews for local tattoo shops. I was pleasantly surprised that the reviews matched perfectly with my overall first impression.  I can honestly say that I feel at home everytime I walk into Monique's.  I can also say that Billy and the rest of the staff are extremely welcoming.  My tattoo was done by Thomas, and it was executed perfectly.  I had a piece that required lot of precise line work.  I sat down and consulted with Thomas and he made suggestions that would make it look even better.  I can admit I am happy I listened to Thomas, not only did it come out looking great but it by far exceeded my expectations.Since my initial visit nine month ago, I have had four more tattoos done by Thomas.  In addition my wife has had four pieces done by him as well.  In speaking with other customers while waiting they also expressed there pleasurable experience and most I spoke with were repeat clients.I would highly recommend this shop without hesitation.  Hands down one of the best in the bay aerea. I have yet to get a tattoo here, I got most of mine done out in LA and have been searching for an awesome place locally to pick up where I left off, and I think Monique's is it! I went to Billy a couple of weeks ago for a nose ring, and he was incredible. So many shops I've been to have been demeaning, cold, and stand-off-ish, but he was so genuinely cool, glad to have me there,  and he helped me pick out exactly what I wanted, and did a fantastic job on the piercing! Plus, many other shops told me they could only pierce with steel jewelry, while I wanted something clear or flesh colored to stay hidden, and he had a clear piece that did the trick! Although I have done this about a couple dozen times now, I still get freaked just before I get anything done. He was so smooth and calming, and let me change the positioning several times so I was fully happy. As for the piercing itself, of course it hurt, but he really made it quick, and it's healing beautifully. He custom makes gold jewelry fit to your body, so I'm looking forward to going back for that soon, once my nose is fully healed, and getting a new tattoo there as well! Read Less

Top notch tattoo and piercing parlor.I went to the Monique's because I am a fan of Jason Minauro a tattooer at the shop. Found a great deal on line for a hotel and made the trip. I made an appt by calling the shop. When I arrived everyone was very friendly and helpful. The shop was cleaner than most dr offices. Jason was a gentleman and great at communicating with me what I wanted. Truly a world class artist, I couldn't be more pleased with the tattoo I got. I'll be going back for sure.
